The novelty of Russian rock had a shelf life of a McDonald's french fry. This band's gimmick was its geographical origins, but there's so much Western intervention (Bon Jovi, Bruce Fairbairn etc.), that this emerges as cookie cutter melodic metal in the end.

There are a few cool songs, in particular the great cover of My Generation. They do have a somewhat unique sound, but seem to be lacking that certain something.

Sometimes At Night, My Generation, and Bang are my favorites on this cd. eBay usually has the Gorky Park Kramer guitar up for bids. They still make them? The red triangle thing with frets and a Floyd Rose. It was a pretty hideous looking guitar to say the least. Anyway...zakar, if you're going to try and inslt anyone on this site, you have to be witty about it. The Effenheimer doesn't quite cut it with us. Read koogles' review. Take notes if necessary. It'll all be on the test later.

with a little help from Bon Jovi, this band can be famous around the world. but they are a good band, and they have great songs, such as try to find me and hit me with the news. they also cover the who's song, and they do it well.

They are a talented band. I've liked their music since I first heard it, but: where are they now??? Nevertheless: 9.0

Jon Bon Jovi had a little too much influence on this CD. It's too light. It's metal/hard rock similar to Bon Jovi, Sons of Angels, and Kiss of the Gypsy. Lightweight stuff my friends.

The only notable thing about this band is that they were from Russia. Oh yeah, and there were 2 members named Sasha. Other than that, it's just your average hair band. Sure there's some good songs on this, the most memorable being the opener "Bang". But they sounded like so many other bands of the time. If you don't mind that though, then by all means check this out. It is good, but you've heard it all before.

I'll have to give it a 5, they are all right but no originality same ol' same ol' y'know, and the Jon Bovi similarity is dead on!!! I actually Like this band but have always detested Bon Jon Bovi (hee hee) the Russian band you all need to hear is "Ariya" they have around 12 albums from 1985-2003 and I can't believe Heavy Harmonies do not have them listed, they are the best Russian Metal band in existence thus far, u can find most of their cd's at RBCmp3.com for sale new at around $6-$8, trust me

I wasn't crazy about this album in any way except for "Bang." After that, it's all downhill.

I only like 'Sometimes at night' and it's the only reason the CD is still in my coleection. Very bad CD, IMO, aside from that song.

Muy desparejo, como tantos otros. Los temas que me gustan son BANG, HIT ME WITH THE NEWS, SOMETIMES AT NIIGHT y PEACE IN YOUR TIME; el resto es totalmente para olvidar. 6/10

Oh man, I remember when this one came out. I actually like it. Of course it has Bon Jovi written all over it, but this was when Bon Jovi actually rocked. Considering the walls of communisim were breaking down, this isn't that bad of a first effort from Russia. They have a few good songs on here (tracks 1,4 & 6) with the being average stuff and fillers.

What do you mean writing "it has Bon Jovi written all over"? do you suggest that musician from Russian couldn't write music?

say what you will but all the above have to get over the bon jovi thing. This cd is a good cd from start to end. all bands in the 80's sounded like poison and bon jovi.So you pick on this band they had there day even put out three more cd's after this one that says alot, knowing they put out more then two says they were liked. This is A good CD that should be in your collection if you where a fan of the 80's.

I agree with helix, nice cd for rock lovers of the 80's.An essential cd i must say.Bon Jovi produced this cd when BJ was BJ!!!!.I do not know how they sound like right now 'cause i haven't found any other album from the band but if the other releases are like this debut sure it ain't misseable.

they used a little bit different sound than other bands of hard rock genre, so they are defenitely not a clone band, which is great. but even though they didn't bring a lot of attention to me, i don't like this kinda sound-no offence. sure there are songs that i like: Bang, Try to Find Me (great ballad), Peace in Our Time and My Generation (one of the best covers i've heard)

Wow, there's a lot of hate here. Very forgettable? I'd have to strongly disagree, considering I find myself singing these songs all the time. Good solid rock, some real cool riffs, and I love Nikolai's accent.

This is a rather historic album, being, as far as I know, the first major Russian band to embrace the party hard rock sounds of the West. This and the follow up Moscow Calling deserve a place in a hardvrock fan's cd collection. The opening track Bang is a fun number similar in tone to Slaughter's Up All Night. What makes it fun is the Russian sounding chorus vocals. Really the whole song is one long chorus. Sometimes At Night is also a very good track. Unfortunately for the band they got lumped in as a novelty act, the cover songs don't help. But, I think they are better than that and deserve a reappraisal. 79/100.
