Also a good one. Catchy pop AOR with hi-tech touch. Sounds like a mix of PM and The Fixx maybe ?

From: James Date: May 17, 2004 at 12:57
Your Love and All The Love are classic POP/AOR songs. These guys have a great song or two on each album but in my opinion never put out a fantastic album. This one is a good album and worth picking up

From: bateman Date: May 20, 2004 at 10:16
This one was the first (sold app. 3 mio times) for the band from London which actually sounds like an American one. Although their albums are not bad, I would go for their Best-Of "Big Innings" which contains the best songs of their career already. You should definitely listen to "Your Love" or "Voices of Babylon" (from their "89 album), this is Power Pop / Lite AOR at its best!

From: Impaler Date: May 26, 2004 at 1:33
A good power pop band with a couple fun tunes.

From: bernardito Date: June 21, 2004 at 1:28
a so-so group! 50/100

From: Harry Date: July 21, 2004 at 17:33
I love this album! I agree with James(above). A definite 80's classic! Even though the song "Your Love" received probably the most attention on the radio then & still today, there were other songs that were produced very well, like: - 61 Seconds, All the Love, Talk to Me, Mystery Man,& Say It Isn't So). I just don't understand why some of the previous writers stated that this album was average. Tony Lewis has a unique sound(voice) which is why I love this CD so much!!! Very reasonable$$ on Ebay

From: rocketron Date: July 21, 2004 at 18:09
Harry - this band are still alive and kicking - check out "Extra Innings" and their latest "Any Time Now".They are as good if not better than"Play Deep".

From: Harry Date: July 21, 2004 at 18:54
Thanks "rocketron", I already have them both- "Big Innings & Any Time Now" Both are great! Hopefully Heavy Harmonies will add these two albums to the three that are already listed. Then we can post our praise even more for the Outfield. Take Care. bye

From: rocketron Date: July 21, 2004 at 19:15
Harry- "Big Innings" is a best-of compilation."Extra Innings is an album of new recordings available from the bands website. Worth getting.Nice to find someone else who likes this very underrated band. Cheers.

AHHH THE OUTFIELD, QUIEN NO DISFRUTO DE ESTA BANDA, ME ENCANTA SU ESTILO. UN AOR FRESCO Y LIMPIO.

From: Lance Date: December 2, 2004 at 22:55
I would have to say that this is my favorite Outfield album. I'm listening to Bangin' right now and thought I'd check out others opinions of the band and hoped to get some thoughts on the latter releases. I was disappointed that Rockeye with Winning It All isn't here. Say It Isn't So have to be favorite from Play Deep. Big iInnings is good. It has the hits and some alternate versions of previously release stuff. By the way, this is the first comment I've ever made at this site! Lance

Y que pasa con los Hispanos que no comentan de este gran grupo que lleno nuestras vidas(en mi caso mi niñez) con su buena musica, un album muy completo y el mejor de ellos que duda queda All the Love, Your Love, All the Love, 61 Seconds, I Dont Need Her... grandes cortes que jamas pasaran de moda por ese sonido Fresco e Intemporal 9/10. otro de mis favoritos de siempre.

From: juan carlos Date: December 16, 2005 at 14:30

From: Chad Date: December 17, 2005 at 22:30
Damn. Essential is written all over this one. Very good AOR and needs to be heard by all that covet this type of music. Not a bad song on this one. A staple for me throughout the 80's. Recommended if not required.

From: headbanger4life Date: January 26, 2006 at 1:16
These guys ruled the radio waves when this one came out. I finally replaced all my old cassettes with cds. This is very catchy AOR. I loved every track on here. A very impressive debut.

From: Lovedrive Date: June 28, 2007 at 11:43
Que temazo TALK TO ME, no?

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 28, 2007 at 20:30
AWESOME LITE AOR!!

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 28, 2007 at 20:35

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 28, 2007 at 20:40
"I Don´t Need Her" nos muestra claramente las influencias a lo Flock Of Seagulls que forjaron tempranamente el estilo de THE OUTFIELD; la hermosa "Everytime You Cry" una balada 80s total; "All The Love", otra clasica joya, quien no la ha oido; "Talk To Me" con esa sencillez a lo Beatles primera epoca, pero con una frescura propia de esa maravillosa época de los 80s; "Taking My Chances" con sensacionales dobles vocales y la misteriosa "Nervous Alibi" cierra el album. Disco UNICO e IRREPETIBLE!!

From: tit4n Date: August 28, 2008 at 12:01
by far their best realise! Very good.

From: WookieEnthal Date: July 11, 2009 at 20:47
Haha, my first concert! Outside in the rain , but they were great and I had a good time. The majority of the songs are good and not much, if any, filler. Great pop rock record.

From: andi Date: April 3, 2011 at 11:51
everybody write The Outfield is a pop band.....sorry but i can´t find any pop in their songs....it´s a great AOR Band with Rock mix!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 16, 2011 at 21:56
Lovely debut by The Outfield...i personally enjoy these kinds of bands with that AOR/POP/ROCK feel and sound..."Say It Ins't So" & "Your Love" were a couple of hit singles back in the day,"I Don't Need Her" is a very good one too along with "61 Seconds"(catchy),"All The Love"(nice, like it a lot)& "Taking My Chances"(brilliant!)...Tony Lewis' kind of singing reminds me of Sting!!! ...87/100

From: Doug Date: May 18, 2011 at 16:16
Can remember when this came out. Great debut! Catchy songs and overall clean sound. Every song on this one is good.

From: hair metal again Date: October 18, 2018 at 4:02
very good pop rock debut by THE OUTFIELD back in the mid 80 s with fine production ,musicianship and very fine vocals by Tony Lewis!overall they remind me of a radio friendly version of YES without being so proggy!"your love"&"taking my chances" are excellent songs indeed

From: tomdwa Date: July 1, 2020 at 15:10
The hit single Your love is a no-brainer here, fantastic tune that you will hum all day once you heard it. Taking my chances is another favorite.
