If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.
The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Cut Throat CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from Cut Throat are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

This is what I always thought Skid Row WANTED to sound like without the pressure of having radio friendly songs. This is balls out melodic metal that pulls no punches. The vocals remind me of Sebastian Bach in spots and the rhythm secion is mega heavy. 9/10 if you like it heavy.

Cool Debut from a band with huge potential. They sound Skid Row-ish but have their own identity with out a doubt!! Please keep Rocking boys and the loyal disciples of 'The Throat' shall follow forever!!!

If sombody tried to take this CD away from me, I would have to cut their throat wide open. Yep, doing hard time with a 300 lb. cell-mate named Bubba for carving a second smile into somebody's esophagus is better than living without this great CD. Take Skid Row's "Slave to the Grind" album, make it a little heavier & ballsier, then strip away some of the slick commercial touches and you get Cut Throat, a full-throttle, hard rockin' melodic metal machine that simply slams with power & attitude.

The first point of reference is obviously Skid Row, as almost everyone has noted. That's partly due to Sean Okin's vocals, which are definitely Bach-like, but also in the fuck-you attitude of the songs--too heavy to be "hair metal." There's a rawness and punk influence that Skid Row only hinted at on certain songs on Slave to The Grind and Subhuman Race, but which Cut Throat embodies on nearly every song. There's kind of an Alice In Chains-like bottom-heaviness as well, and the guitars try for some Zakk Wylde squeals. This is clearly an indie though, as the album could have benefited from a better production. The guitar sound is kinda thin, and the playing is not very tight ("Lock Me Up" seems to speed up and slow down for no reason, for example.) Some of the hooks don't exactly jump out of the speakers at you either, another hallmark of indie releases. All the same, this would easily have been one of my top releases of 1998, had I heard it at the time. Unfortunately, it was hard to fi
