Clif Magness fans have been starved of solo releases over the decades, but this set tries to make up for it with over five dozen new releases. These may be demos, but they're very polished and perfectly capture the musician's vocal and technical development over an almost 40-year period. Disc 1 has sort of a soft rock vibe and Disc 4 features some interesting experiments in 90s-style pop, but Discs 2 and 3 are where the real gold is buried. "If I Had My Way," "Look the Other Way" and "I Know I Want Your Love" are sugary AOR hits. "Shake Off the Rain," "Living in a Gorgeous Hell" and especially "I Will Survive" are high-energy stadium rockers. "Yeah Yeah Yeah" is ridiculously fun and "Livin' by the Letter" is a good example of Clif's unique style of melodic rock. Fans will definitely get the most out of it, but I still recommend it for general AOR aficionados.
