A rock classic!! So many good songs on this album. I feel like these guys should have been a lot bigger in the USA. I know they were huge in Canada. My FAvorites on this album are 1,2,3,4,5, 6,9,11.

I saw this tour at the Sunken Gardens in San Antonio, TX. They were a great party band. Alcatraz opened for them. This was an awesome album and great follow-up to "No Rest"

OTRO DISCO OLVIDABLE. PARA LA EPOCA EN LA QUE FUE EDITADO SI HABIA ALGO QUE HACIA FALTA EN ESTE TIPO DE BANDAS ERA ORIGINALIDAD,Y HELIX, MAS ALLA DE UN "NO REST FOR THE WICKED" APENAS ACEPTABLE, NO ERA UN GRUPO QUE SE CARACTERIZARA JUSTAMENTE POR EXCESO DE IDEAS. SOLO MEDIOCRE. 4/10.NADA DE LO ANTERIOR Y MENOS,LO QUE LLEGO DESPUES, RESULTO TRASCENDENTE. carro_martin2000@yahoo.com.ar

Run of the mill 80's hard rock. The opening track "Rock You" is a good rock anthem and "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'" is good catchy pop metal, but the rest is just bland. 5/10

Very dated but Gimme Gimme... is still very enjoyable. When The Hammer... is also good. But over all, this is not "PURE 80s METAL AT ITS BEST". How can somebody came to that conclusion with this album?

Great album, but I think that the tracks written here are all wrong, I think the songs are 10, the 8th is make me do anything you want and the 9th is six strings, nine lives... Am I wrong?

Yeah that's right. There's something wrong in the track list. #8 is "MAKE ME DO ANYTHING YOU WANT" and #9 is "SIX STRINGS, NINE LIVES". You're so right, Blackie. Now, speaking about this album this is HELIX's best. This one includes the song "ROCK YOU", which is HELIX's best hit.

Helix is brilliant. I saw them open for Quiet Riot and Whitesnake on this tour. Nobody in Tulsa had heard of them, but by the end of their very, very short set (something like 30 min - typical for 3rd slot band in big arena) they had converted me. This album is an absolute masterpiece. I own hundreds of CDs, 30Gigs of songs, and I still put this album on at least 3 times a month. It capures the feeling of 80s Heavy Metal in a big way. Check their previous CD too. Heavy Metal love is excellent tr

I totally agree with "underworld king", this was my first Helix album too and instant favourite. If you like kickass party rock & roll that makes you feel good and play air guitar, similar to the feeling of similarly fantastic Kix et al, then Helix will rock your ass! Production is not perfect, but works well for this type of music and the '09 remaster sounds excellent! Many killer songs on this album, including the singles, and Helix during their peak '83-'85 deserved more success than they got for sure. These albums are often listened to in my car/home players and imo they are true classics of timeless rock & roll. Last but not least, Helix was an amazing live act, 100% energy and fun! Cool thing is that the reunion album Vagabond Bones is actually much better than expected, close to their 80s brilliance. Highly recommended too!

Now this was a fun band who had videos you have to see to believe. There is no way in these puritan feminist times that the Rock You video would be shot today! This is straight up good times party rock. You can't go wrong with a Helix disc but this is probably their best overall.

... And then there was the video for "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'," intended for the Playboy Channel and featuring an underage Traci Lords. Once it came out she was only 16, this video disappeared. A bridge too far, even for the free-wheeling decade of decadence, which was also the decade of the PMRC, "Just Say No," and the Moral Majority. Helix, a good, no-frills hard-rock band. Martin Popoff said it best on his podcast: "Go listen to some Helix. They will make you happy." But yeah, "Rock You," the song, is kinda dumb.

Yeah I don't think Helix will win any poetry awards for their lyrics. But, I mean they approach any topic in their limited repertoire with enthusiasm... They come across as dudes who would be fun to hang out with, even if I wouldn't be able to keep up with their hard partying ways!
