I think this the best album from Helix. Much diffrent than the others. Ballads here remind me little bit the ones from Poison. This album is very calm, athmosferic. I feel here a little country touch. Great melodies and i think the best vocal performance from Vollmer ever. A must for every melodic lover.

This album was originally intended to be a Brian Vollmer solo project, not a Helix album which is the reason for the change in sound. It's very mellow and relaxed and the heavy metal crunch is gone, but it's still a good album. A different (IMO "better") version of the song "Love Is a Crazy Game" appears on B Sides.

Yeah pretty good I guess but certainly not their best album. There is something uniquely magical about some of Helix's earlier songs, and this particular effort is solid - nothing more. The vocals get wearing after a while and the variety isn't there anymore. But worth looking out if you can pick it up for a few $$$. 6.5/10

By far the best album this group has ever put out. This record smokes. The only problum is that it should not have been called Helix this was a Brian Vollmer (Helix's lead vocalists) solo record or duo record with writing partner Mark Ribbler. Sort of a Vollmer Ribbler CD if you will but the songs are great. Just not a Helix record and thats a good thing. This was the last real cd this band put out after this one there either crap or just milkin' a dead cow.

Lacks the metallic edge of earlier Helix albums, probably because it was never supposed to be a Helix album (it was intended to be a Vollmer solo project). It's not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but it's nothing special either; it's just kind of...there. Much like self-service sexual devices, some people will derive more pleasure from this than others; all depends on what gets your motor rockin'.

Accurate comments about the real intention of this album(a Brian Vollmer solo album)and somehow ended up as a Helix one...for me it's a great release with some "John Cougar Mellencamp feel" in some songs ....relaxed and mellow like Blue Tequila wrote back in 2003...my faves are "That Day Is Gonna Come","Tug O' War"(both nice ones),"Can't Even Afford To Die","Misery Loves Company","Look Me Straight In The Heart"(great mid tempo song with Lee Aaron singing too) & "Mad Mad World"( )...just for open minded persons that can stand a different "noise" of "Helix"...85/100...

great canadian band, Brian Vollmer is class act. I really enjoyed this even if it is difrent for hélix. But definetly one of their best.

Hey , this just got released on vinyl, gatefold. Since it was supposed to be a Vollmer solo, Brian renamed it Vollmer. Check out planethelix, I still like this album, yes more mellow but does have that helix vibe
