As with the recent Prayer release, the Scandie's seem to be getting back the quality that has been missing lately. This is the 2nd release after the excellent 'Northern Light' debut from 2001. 'The Waiting' is Pretty much the same deal as with that one, although production wise this takes a couple of notches upwards. Faves from this one are the opener 'How Does It Feel' & 'The Waiting' although all the material is pretty strong throughout. Nothing new here but it's done well!!

From: AOR freaky Date: July 23, 2005 at 4:40
I fully agree with Jez on this one. Beautiful second strike from this Scandi act. I especially like the keys here. They are not afraid of using 'em and that's a plus point. Great follow up to their debut. Good, even great AOR at places !

From: Corvus Corax Date: July 26, 2005 at 0:52
I just received my copy of Broke N Blue..... I must say after reading the comments posted here I was psyched to hear this release. And I wasn't aware of the samples on Andrew's site til after i got the Cd...I wish I had. Anyway, with that being said....I am VERY disappointed. The best thing about this group is Eva's voice....the worse being Peter's HORRID vocals, and the lack of even the slightest bit of POWER from this band. The review on Melodic Rock said this band is comparable to : Journey,

From: Corvus Corax Date: July 26, 2005 at 0:53
Heart, and Richard Marx.....I would have included Pat Benatar, and dropped the Journey comparison. The music is very weak, and one-dimensional. again, the best thing about this cd is Eva's voice. The songs appear somewhat empty, and flat. And like I said above - Peter's voice is absolutely horrendous. It sounds strained.... I guess I can listen to the Eva tracks....and Track 1 isn't that bad at all.... 1 1/2 out of 5 stars.......

From: AOR freaky Date: July 26, 2005 at 14:51
Sorry you're disappointed, Corvus Corax. I find this release a very good AOR record !, in fact, better than the current Journey. This is pure AOR, with lots of keys, not a power or hardrock band. GREAT !

From: Connaisseur Date: July 26, 2005 at 14:55
I enjoy this album a lot. Class act. One of the very few AOR highlights of this year so far.

From: Wotty Date: July 31, 2005 at 15:50
Top album in my opinion. Can't explain why but it's one of those albums that gets into the brain and refuses to leave.A major plus is the alternating male/female lead vocals with the hallmark traits of lush keys and guitars.Quality !!!!!

From: stryper Date: August 15, 2005 at 7:13
GREAT SECOND ALBUM.A WORTHY ALBUM TO PUT NEXT TOMY WITNESS LAOS AND MANY OTHERS.BOTH CAN SING!!!IF YOU LIKE COASTLINE ALYSON AVENUE SHIVAS FIRST ALBUM.THEN GET THIS GEM.TOP CLASS.

From: Opcart Date: September 28, 2005 at 10:11
Very good 2nd album. Some musics seams like Dare and Hugo. 8,5/10

From: z4roxx Date: October 2, 2005 at 10:23
That’s incredible that a major as MTM produce a cd like this one, nothin’is good here,I can’t believe that this band has become ridicoulus after a very good debut,I think MTM could produced my band,we are 100 times better than Broke(n)Blue!Sorry guys but this cd is bad and pretty awful, not a single remarkable refrain, old and average ideas, drums soundin comes from a garage, and I don’t want to spend other words about male vocals…what’s that????My father sing better….2/10.

From: swriter Date: October 2, 2005 at 12:49
hmmm, not sure why, not that this is weak, but is not a grower for me, can't put my finger on it, maybe the switch of vocals, not bad, just not a repeat listen for me

From: z4roxx Date: October 3, 2005 at 13:14
Sorry mate but in Italy we say:”Non confondiamo la merda con la cioccolata…”(Do not confuse shit with chocolate),It’s a shame doin’a comparrison between this shitty release with some Godz of melodick band with female voices….

From: Wotty Date: October 5, 2005 at 4:11
Hi z4roxx.I think this is a grat album. We'll have to agree to disagree !!!

From: Wotty Date: October 5, 2005 at 4:13
I mean great album,not grat!!!

From: z4roxx Date: October 9, 2005 at 12:29
Yes Wotty, maybe we have some different points of views about this one,but sincerely I don’t understand how this cd could like,It’s pretty horrible to me!

From: Wotty Date: October 9, 2005 at 15:21
Hey z4roxx.Good to see differing views don't get nasty. But I can't see where your dislike of this cd comes from.OK,the cd is not perfect, but it has a good sound, more than passable songs, decent playing albeit a few dodgy vocals but for an A.O.R. album this beats a few of the "celebrated" releases this year.IMO !!!!!

From: Erik Date: October 14, 2005 at 11:22
Another top scandi release for me. A winner for me ( sorry Andrea ). Love the keys here. Quality album and betteR then the Northern Light release IMO 8,6 /10

From: Erik Date: October 14, 2005 at 11:44
Make that 8,9/10 And the website is www.broke-n-blue.com

From: z4roxx Date: August 24, 2006 at 12:52
Ahahah it’s strange Erik,if you read my first comment here you’d laugh a lot ahahah! But I’ve re-heard it and I must change my little quick conclusions:it’s not so horrible but the male’s voice yes ahahahah!!I have some Hotwire cds’+ a rare first ep,it’s a good band but not awesome to me.We have some different tastes sometimes,if you remember some great new indies’please tell me everything!!!!

Como cambian tan fácilmente de opinión por aquí.. bueno el disco es AOR y toques Melodic Rock con una producción aceptable. "Perfect Match" es un temazo, buena voz femenina, "Endlessly" cantado por Peter(regular/ok su voz), "Never The Same"(Soberbio AOR), "This Time", "Rivers Are Calling" a dúo, "Midnite Show" "Found it Now"(Temazo, un aire a Belinda Carlisle ehh), y "First Time" mis favoritas. Resaltar los muy buenos solos, muy inspirados y los teclados bien puestos. Muy Recomendable. 8.8/10

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 12, 2007 at 14:19

From: z4roxx Date: March 12, 2007 at 16:48
ahahaha the total of Rafo it's the best thing on the site ahahahahahahahahahahaha
