Here we talking AOR-classics..BIG time!!They're sound is typical for the mideighties... big hooks, big keyboardsound, good harmony vocals and big production. They remind me of bands like "Fortune" (85) and "Haywire".The whole album is great, but there are a few standout tracks like.."Time Soldier","Lie To Me" and One of my alltime favourite AOR songs "Double Shot Of Love" with it's mega refrain!!

From: rocketron Date: April 6, 2004 at 7:34
About time this appeared here.Absolute monster of a heavy AOR album. Shame it was only known to a few fans of the genre, so subsequently became a collectors item.

From: ROB GARCIA Date: April 6, 2004 at 11:12
YEAH! the aor brothers upstairs are damn right! this is a very classy aor album that has passed unnoticed back in 1986 and it's a real shame 'cause this album is full of high class tunes that could wet any aor fan's appettite. get this you'll love it!!.

From: Chris Date: April 14, 2004 at 6:55
Absolute agreement here from me too. This is an absolute killer. Not a filler in sight. As Rob said this will certainly wet any aor fans appetite.

From: Jeppe (Sweden) Date: April 17, 2004 at 13:33
This record is the best AOR album ever done !! Me and my friends just love it !! It was a popular record in sweden...we love it

From: AOR freaky Date: May 6, 2004 at 4:42
Not the best AOR record ever done (Signal, I-Ten, Van Stephenson, Agent, Fortune, Foreigner, Survivor, Drive She Said, The V.U., Streets, Boulevard etc. etc. are all better), but indeed, this is great AOR ! Don't miss it !!

From: Parente Date: May 6, 2004 at 5:31
Double Shot Of Love and Women Have Secrets are great songs. Classic pomp AOR but is it SO good ? I wonder. BTW, this record is not released on CD. Bootleg you see on eBay.

From: Rockhead Date: May 6, 2004 at 6:02
I own this Cd and it is definately legitimate.

From: rocketron Date: May 6, 2004 at 6:15
Rockhead you are correct.I also have this on CD on the Atco label and it is a legit release.

From: Parente Date: May 7, 2004 at 4:58
I have it also on the ATCO label but i'm sorry to say, it's bootleg. I know. Like Jeff Paris Race To Paradise CD.

From: Rycheage Date: May 28, 2004 at 12:11
Classy, and laced with a heavier than usual dose of melodic rock among the predominant AOR grooves this band generates. Some of the songs are so memorable. 'Time Soldier', the epic 'Double Shot Of Love', and the heavy backbeat of 'Breakdown' all stand out. But then again so do efforts such as 'Don't Turn Me Away' which sounds like a Wrabit ballad!! 'Standin', a great snapshot of melodic rock circa 1986, full of pounding drums, lush keyboards and big production. Great stuff!!

Mr "the voice" Steve Overland is giving it all he got. And dont we all know thats a whole lot. Good stuff on the new cd !

From: swriter Date: December 12, 2004 at 11:44
Is this one available anywhere?? was it released on cd? I stumbled across this one after I got Steve Overland's new Ladder cd, not the same band, but the drummer of this Ladder played with the Good Rats and Twisted Sister I think?? They are from the North Jersey/New York area I think?? Thanks!!!!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: January 18, 2005 at 22:38
OTRO GRAN ALBUM DE AOR DEL MEJOR AŅO DEL AOR (JUNTO AL 88-89) Y DE LA MUSICA EN GENERAL (CLARO ES DIFICIL DECIRLO PORQUE LA MAYORIA DE ESTA DECADA FUE DEMOLEDORA), GRANDES TEMAS Double Shot Of Love, Standin, Lie To Me, Lover, Don't Turn Me Away RECOMENDADO PARA MANTES DEL AOR, NO UNA JOYA PERO UN BUEN ALBUM TRANQUILO Y PARA DISFRUTARLO EN CALMA. SALUDOS DESDE ICA-PERU.

From: Swriter Date: February 9, 2005 at 21:13
heard an album version of this, not a top ten classic, but very good, one of the best of the early 80's!!!!! So how can we get this released???????

From: Swriter Date: February 24, 2005 at 17:49
wowowow, another grower for me, I would put this somewhere in the top early 80's aor releases, not overly heavy, but not laid back either, what keys!!!! Find this one and hope for a re-release, this is good!!!

From: Swriter Date: April 2, 2005 at 19:29
trying to find info on this one, impossible to find anything written?? The drummer listed is Joe Franco, I wonder if it is the same as the Good Rats and TSister's drummer. I checked TSister sites and GRats sites where Joe is mentioned and discographys are listed, but this one is not listed. hmmmm

From: z4roxx Date: April 4, 2005 at 9:24
I have this one but I don't know if exist a regular original cd pressing or only a bootleg version,I'll check out about this one when I'll go home!"Time soldier"is the best song here, killer! The rest is good but I don't hear this one since many years!

From: Rockhead Date: April 4, 2005 at 9:38
Mine is an original copy on the Atco label.

From: Connaisseur Date: April 4, 2005 at 13:18
Rockhead, the CD version of this album looks like the real stuff, but it is a 100% bootleg simply because the album was never officially released on CD ;-). The guys who made this bootleg did a great job but made one big error : on the disc itself (and on the spines) you can read the wrong cat.number : 90540-1. "1" on the end indicates vinyl ;-))). They should have changed that into "2". Nevertheless, both sound and artwork are excellent.

From: Rockhead Date: April 5, 2005 at 3:44
Wow-I purchased this from a reputable outlet!! If it is a boot it is awesome.

From: AOR freaky Date: April 5, 2005 at 3:48
Good stuff indeed, but not officially on CD yet ! Still have to do with the album !

From: z4roxx Date: April 5, 2005 at 9:54
I was right that it's a bootleg cd...It's good one but not awesome,my bootleg runs ok for this band...

From: rocketron Date: April 6, 2005 at 6:19
Rockhead - ditto!!

From: Nick C Date: April 8, 2005 at 15:20
Excellent Hi Tech AOR with pomp overtones. If I had to pick out my favourites they would be Time Soldier, Standin' and Daydreams at Night which are fantastic songs. A great shame they only did the one album (as far as I know).

From: swriter Date: August 22, 2005 at 15:30
again, great album, but we need on cd, I know the drummer p[layed with several bands TSIster, Trans Siberian and I think he is now with The good rats. Have to email and see if this can ever get released on cd!!!!!!!!!!!!! man, Time Soldier, Doube shot, Lie to me, wonderful

From: Swazi Date: October 6, 2005 at 7:57
Excellent album after a few spins ! It needed to grow on me, though. I have got the "CD Classics" version from Russia, but there isn't anything to complain about. The only thing maybe is that the front and back cover is a (good) copy from the LP sleeve. The sound is excellent !

From: Kim HP Date: January 3, 2006 at 17:11
Superb AOR release with some high-tech elements (but not too many). Check out "Double Shot Of Love", "Time Soldier", "Lie To Me" and "Dancing In The Dark"... pure class! Recommended!

From: JagWire Date: February 12, 2006 at 9:17
In definitiva BUY OR DIE!

From: Heavy.AOR Date: October 31, 2006 at 9:56
BRILLIANT 10/10.Great AOR little "Yes".

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: December 6, 2006 at 1:40
I found this cd on ebay by a label named ROCK-IT records. Still dont know if its a bootleg or an official issue, but who cares? After all is one of the best AOR albums that I own. Cant stop listening to it! Dancing in the Dark is my personal favorite. And again... If Find it... BUY IT!!

From: swriter Date: January 19, 2007 at 20:00

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 30, 2007 at 14:06

From: shoemaker Date: October 22, 2007 at 13:14
Hammer! Fine AOR/ Pop-rock album. No wishes open. Simmilar to old FM meets RICK SPRINGFIELD

From: Dare2009 Date: July 8, 2008 at 7:03
I heard the song time soldier by another artist but i can t remember who recovered it any help?

From: aor4sale Date: August 26, 2009 at 8:49
Hi-Tech AOR of the highest degree. Why o' why these guys did not go on to do more is beyond me and my ears. The first 2 tracks are so good they are worth the admission alone and whilst the rest of the album is not as grand it is still far better than many of it's impersonaters out there.

From: JamesEagle Date: October 31, 2009 at 12:51
I've looked for this CD on eBay and Amazon with no luck ... anyone have any idea where I can get it?

From: Dave Cockett Date: November 26, 2009 at 13:59
Word is that Wounded Bird are due to reissue The Ladder early next year!

From: barker Date: April 13, 2010 at 15:13
Excellent re-issue on Wounded Bird ! A criminally overlooked classic.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 18, 2010 at 18:03
Very nice AOR album with some Lite AOR/Westcoast in certain parts or just where needed..it reminded me of Kenny Loggins Vox Humana time..musically talking is kinda similar.."Daydream At Night" is an excellent starter 4 sure,"Double Shot Of Love" smoothness all over,"Lie To Me" is also a goodie..now the ones i liked the most were "Time Soldier","Don't Turn Me Away" a very nice and moody ballad,"Breakdown" is solid,"Standin'","Lover" this is a 100% Kenny loggins' sound and my own very favourite is the last track,"Dancing In The Dark"...good album and relaxing too.87/100

From: halfordhughes Date: June 2, 2011 at 15:50
this is the classic!

From: Kralli Date: April 12, 2012 at 7:58
Time Soldier is THE classic song from this album. Overall not a classic album though.
