this is a great album i dig this way better than the later twisted sister albums . buy this youll love it

There isn't a 'bad' track on this debut cd by Widowmaker. I was really suprised. I mean, Dee is a great frontman, but he WAS in Twisted Sister! Who were not know to be great musicians or have much credibility in the rock world. Dee assembled a great line up for this release, everything that Twisted lacked this band had. The highlights? The Widowmaker, Emaheevul, The Lonely Ones & Blue for You. 9.0 on the SWINE Scale!

Hey where do u think I got my nic from anyway? Buy...steal...do whatever...get either one of these albums....they have killer tracks from the legend Mr. Twisted Sister...Your a HeartBreaker is an awesome powerful tune....the whole album rocks though...quote the WidoMakr...never more

From: Kim Date: July 20, 2002 at 1:44
Just realized that I have both cd`s by Widowmaker. I never listened to them for some odd reason.

From: Desslar Date: July 20, 2002 at 14:33
Well, it's not up to classic Sister standards, but it kicks the crap out of 'Love is for Suckers.' Track 6 in particular has a Sister vibe to it. Actually most of these songs were already recorded for Snider's Desperado album in 1989. Anyway, this is a fun hard rock album, and much, much better than the follow-up. I think 'Widowmaker' was a poor choice for the single though. It sounded like a horrible cliche coming out in '92.

From: Baris Date: September 12, 2002 at 5:55
Hard and Rock enough. If released in 1986, this might be welcome. But in 92 it wasn't that interesting anymore. It's like Twisted Sister striving for a fresh tune again. But who cares in the 90s?..

THIS ALBUM ROCKS!! definately supergroup! dee snider's voc. excellent, songs r brillant, al pitrelli's chops n licks sounded best! super drummer joey franco is superb! buy this!!!

From: Rockpig! Date: November 14, 2003 at 20:23
I much preferred the ORIGINAL Widowmaker from England that featured Bob Daisley and Ariel Bender!

From: Fat Freddy Date: December 19, 2003 at 18:39
Great album. Saw Dee on the tour for this one and he damn near blew the roof off the club. Too bad the next album wasn't up to par.

From: Metal Pete Date: January 8, 2004 at 18:44
Good throwback to the 80's metal sound. Disagree with an earlier poster's highlights somewhat--killer tracks include 'Emaheevul', 'Blood and bullets', 'snot-nose kid'. 'blue for you' is the weak one here.

From: Impaler Date: February 22, 2004 at 10:00
Good album full of hard rockers, it will please old school Twisted Sister fans (before they tried to go pop). 'Emaheevul' is a great tune. I don't find much else memorable but it is an easy listen.

From: jarett r. Date: February 25, 2004 at 10:43
al pitrelli was also in danger danger, early in their career.

From: red Date: February 27, 2004 at 18:47
I remember hearing this in 92. It's overall very good, nothing spectacular, but certainly good. A good comeback for Dee since the last two Twisted Sister albums were kind of hit and miss.

From: Lynchomaniac Date: June 6, 2004 at 7:37
Widowmaker was a great band and this album was their peak, but I would have preferred more guitar in the mix!

From: Geoff Date: August 17, 2004 at 1:27
I like this CD. I liked it a lot more a while ago, but it's still cool. Excellently played commercial hard rock still stands up today. The first track is great, my favourite is the brilliant 'Reason to kill' and there are couple of very melodic moments like 'Lolenly ones' and the very commercial 'Calling for you' which I also like. Good solid CD.

From: cort Date: April 9, 2005 at 15:21
I was extremely surprised and pleased to get this when I did!I thought Twisted Sister was alright but I like this band alot better! They seem more dedicated and focused than Sister was and just better musicianship in general!Pick it up,it's worth it!!!

I remember paying a lot of money for this cd when it came out. It was hard to get and on one of my trips to Madrid i bought it. Some time later, it was easy to get and cheap. Shit. Anyway, cool album. I remember the video clip for THE WIDOMAKER. Cool. This album is good for any TS or DEE SNIDER fan and so much better then their second album that realy sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Carlos A. Date: February 15, 2007 at 22:53
'Blue for You' es uno de esos pocos archinonplusultrasuper blues moderno que se pueda oir en una banda de este genero...un tema brillante brillante.... y oido al final Snider nos da las gracias en espaņol...

From: japaner Date: March 3, 2007 at 4:55

A nice slab of metal ! Some of Dee's best work. The first song 'Emaheevul' pretty much sealed the d *mn deal for me personally. Not a weak track on there.Definitely recommended ! ----

From: pie75 Date: August 22, 2010 at 8:58
a great album the songs left over from the desperado album that were reworked are better versions (emmaheeval, gone bad and calling for you) not that the originals are bad at all just a better sound the widow maker is a cracking song also like the lonely ones, reason to kill, snot nose kid, blue for you, your a heart breaker blue for you and we are the dead dee sounded the best he had in years twisted fans should like this as well as fans of good rock

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 25, 2011 at 22:26
