Listened to the sample off of PJ's Collector's Corner and it sounds great. I'd like to buy this if someone has it for sale. rio1harris@aol.com

CAN ANYONE ANSWER ME IF THIS ALBUM IS PRINTED ONLY IN 300 COPIES PLEASE?

From: StormSpell Date: November 29, 2004 at 14:03
Relax George, your source dried out, so it must be the real thing! Good thing is that I scored 2 and my purchase went through! Now I have 3 copies for sale, woohoo! As I said I doubt it was released in 300 copies only by major label as Melodiya. More likely 3000, but it still is VERY RARE CD worth $150 Check www.stormspell.com if interested, or try me on ebay, cheers!

From: George Angel Date: December 1, 2004 at 10:06
You should thank me for giving you the clues to get this cd :-)))However I am not sure if you are right about the copies as I havent cross-examined yet as I still have my doubts regarding the copies exact number. The source has dried out I am aware of that and I am also aware that the cd will can sell at least 150USD.

From: StormSpell Date: December 2, 2004 at 2:51
By 'exact number' I supose you mean the LOT #, correct? I got mines today and the inner rim LOT # is the official one. Unless my existing copy is a boot too, those should be perfectly legit copies. I agree with you about $150 mark, I already adjusted my selling price to $145 - living in USA made me greedy capitalist, haha .

From: Ninja Date: December 8, 2004 at 15:20
Hi i recently bought one in ebay by 12.99 factory sealed!!!(surprised) Russian dvd.com. I'm a collector and i have others like Steel Breeze Heart on the line, Billionaire Boys Club Japan, The Wraith ost soundtrack japan, Forsale Starnger in town, Stan Bush and Barrage all!....Big trouble in little china soundtrack 1987!...i'm the master of ebay!

From: StormSpell Date: December 11, 2004 at 17:23
Yep, russiandvd.com managed to dig handful of the original Galaxy CDs and sold them all for two days (even managed to pump up the price from $12.99 to $29.99 in the process . I talked to them and was told it was vault find and there arent any left, or coming back in stock in foreseen future. Anyone who managed to snatch a copy from them should be very happy - I got two (thanks George!). I really doubt anyone ever managed to get it from eBay for $12.99, not for the last 2 years at least!

From: meloxxx Date: December 12, 2004 at 23:11
I paid $300 for this a year ago

From: Date: December 16, 2004 at 13:19
Very interesting.... I am not saying that those Galaxy CDs are frauds, but you will be surprized to learn how brilliant Russian craftsmanship can be sometimes. Once again, I am not trying to bring any panic here, but really..you do not expect an experienced(!) Russian seller to give away those rarities(?) for $15-$20 each, do you? An experienced person would know an average price on these babes before rolling them out on the market.Does it make sence? Imagine yourself selling Stage Dolls with 'B

From: Ashen_light Date: December 16, 2004 at 13:23
Imagine yourself selling Stage Dolls 'Commandos' with 'BUY IT NOW FOR $20-$30' option, knowing that this one can easily be gone for at least $150-$170. Does it make sence? Besides, what's the story with 300 copies only? Who and when came up with this idea? Back in Russia I knew at lease 200 people who had this CD. Anyway, happy holidays and my endless love to everyone. Ashen_light

From: z4roxx Date: December 16, 2004 at 16:18
FOR ME A RUSSIAN BAND COULD BE BUYED FOR 5/10$....BY THE WAY I HAVE, BESIDES THE MOST FAMOUS BAND SUCH AS GORKY PARK,INSPECTOR....VERY VERY GOOD STUFF!!I THINK THIS CD IS MEGARARE FOR US BUT IF YOU GO I RUSSIA YOU CAN FIND MAYBE IT TO THE'POLICE'!!!AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!

From: stormspell Date: December 17, 2004 at 18:37
To the last 3 comments: We are talking here for a major online retail store (RussianDVD.com) based in NJ. Not a collector that knows the single CD value. This company obviously got a handful of copies from warehouse find or anything and put them for sale at the initiall price all their CDs sell ($11.99), and then obviously figured out those are colelctible and gradually increased the price up to $29.99 (continue in my next posting due to space restrain)

From: stormspell Date: December 17, 2004 at 18:38
...since then their site states 'out of stock', wouldnt you think that if they booted it, or repressed it wont put some more on sale? It was a vault find and the retailer didnt know the Cd value, that's all.

From: stormspell Date: December 17, 2004 at 18:39
And yes, my father worked in Russia during the early 90es and I lived in Moscow for 2 years. I can read Russian and am very VERY familiar with all Russian pressings, I own original Galaxy CD and the 2 I got for $29.99 from RussianDVD.com are 101% THE REAL DEAL! To prove you that, I'm not even going to post the 2nd one on eGay, since the people got confused and wont bit to its collector's value feasring it could be bootleg, ha!

From: ashen_light Date: December 18, 2004 at 9:04
Dear stormspell, please forgive me if I offended you-I didn't want to. But you have to agree that lots of us-collectors-at least once were victims of frauds. I once purchased a 'collectible' for $200 from one of the Russian sellers(for obvious reasons I will not mention his name) and it turned out to be a fake. And let me tell you this: I am Russian, 25 years old and lived in America since 2001 and believe me I am also familiar with Russian pressings.

From: ashen_light Date: December 18, 2004 at 9:19
And one of them was'an official' STRANGER-The Bell on CD-which was never ever officially released on CD. Now to your argument: yes, if they booted the CD they would have plenty of those for sale, but how many of them can you sell for $30 on e-Bay without arousing suspicion:3, 4 ,5? Maybe. But if you sell 20 of them-it would be very suspicious, assuming only 300 copies were made. Anyway, we all realize that this business is risky and it's one thins when you spend $50-60 on a fake CD, but...

From: ashen_light Date: December 18, 2004 at 9:26
if we are talking about real rarities for $150-$200+, that when you have to careful. Here is another example: several months ago Dalton's 'Injection' and 'The Race is On' were very pricy and quite rare, but a few weeks ago I wanted to purchase both of them and I did for $10 a piece. I asked the seller if those were originals(although I didn't care that much for Dalton to be original)and the answer was'yes'. I said:' But why are they so cheap' and the answer was:'I have tons of them'.

From: ashen_light Date: December 18, 2004 at 9:32
Do you need to go further? Bottomline: we are all in the same boat and it is a very legitimate cause to be a little suspicious before we pay $150-$200 for a CD, don't you agree? Hey, Stormspell, won't you be concerned of you saw, for example, four pieces of Theatre-'Sexy Lady' or Oslo-s/t on e-bay with BUY NOW FOR $30? I bet you would be confused:should I buy them all now and then ask the seller a question or should I question the origin of the CDs first?

er....guys... anyone got mp3 from this ablum ? email me please.. thanks...danger9673@yahoo.com

From: ashen_light Date: December 19, 2004 at 13:06
To CHINESE: my friend, believe me , you can buy this CD blind folded without priliminary listening and you won't miss! It's really a masterpiece where each and every song is a hit! However,I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it.$120-tops-but this is just my opinion, besides I already have one(bought it back in Russia for 10 rubles-approximately 33 cents).I might need another one for my cousin as a B-Day present though. Good luck to everyone.

From: StormSpell Date: December 20, 2004 at 11:29
@Ashen_light - look man, I agree with you in general, BUT in this particular case there werent ANY GALAXY CDs on sale on eBay for $30. Those were sold on a vendor's site (www.russiandvd.com IS A SITE, NOT EBAY SELLER), I have no idea why Ninja said he bought it from eBay - there WERENT Galaxy CDS on eBay selling for $30!!! not even a single one! do a "completed items" search and see for yourself. A few CDs surfaced at a site and sold over a day, since then there werent none seen anyplace

From: StormSpell Date: December 20, 2004 at 11:37
Ashen, I agree the 300 copies run is a bogus. I know better than that Melodya would not bother making such small pressings, or it will cost arm and leg. The rumor says it that a certain band member cut a private deal with Melodya when the band was already folding apart and the rest of the members were already in USA - they didnt see any profit out of it, so this CD isnt even mentioned on their official site's discography.

From: StormSpell Date: December 20, 2004 at 11:48
I'd estimate it was pressed in the vicinity of 1500-3000 copies run, as this was the smallest reasonable quantity possible to order. It was common item in the 90es, at least in the big cities, but since it became major collector's its HTF even in Russia, I've seen lots of local ads "looking to buy Galaxy CDs" from people who knows its real value. Its the same in Bulgaria with AHAT LP - I'm Bulgarian and havent been able finding a copy for last year at all, before they were seen for $3 everywhere!

From: StormSpell Date: December 20, 2004 at 11:55
Ashen, hahah! Of course I wouldnt pay $200 for Stranger - the Bell CD since its well known it was never officially released on CD! I'm cutting it short here, come to the forum to discuss it further - I'll send you all sorts fo scans and everything to prove to you the copy I got is genuine if you wish.

From: ashen_light Date: December 20, 2004 at 13:26
To Stormspell, thanks for the info, my friend. Well, when I mentioned that I bought a fake CD for $200-I wasn't talking about Stranger, anyway... I absolutely agree with you also on 300 copies-that's impossible for many reasons. In fact I am bidding on Galaxy right now on e-bay , but still I am not convinced that this CD is worth more than $100. Here'is my e-mail address just in case: ashen_light@yahoo.com. P.S. By the way, nice web-site you got.

That's mighty interesting but WHAT'S THE MUSIC LIKE??? :-) - Comparable to what bands??

From: StormSpell Date: December 21, 2004 at 4:24
@ Scandinavia - visit www.stormspell.com, there are 3 audio samples available, so you can check it out for yourself I'd say it is perfect cross between early B.T.R., Bon Jovi, and some ICEBERG thrown in for good measure

From: Scandinavia Date: December 21, 2004 at 7:43
Thanx!! "WOW" i thought...Sounds to be worth all the hype! I'd expected something 3rd rate from GALAXY but this sounds like top class! Love it already...I'm off to fetch a copy :-)

From: StormSpell Date: December 21, 2004 at 17:51
@ Scandinavia, well, good luck At least now you know where to find one, and it may come with some Galaxy related extras ...who knows, it is Christmas after all! Ho-Ho-Ho

From: mibu590 Date: January 2, 2005 at 11:32
Who in the hell put this one in the genre aor? It`s much heavier than I thought. It`s more melodic metal. "Sweet Rosanna" is super, "We say Good-Bye" is very good and the rest is good. The production could of been better. You have to turn up the sound level very high.Sounds a little bit scandinavian.

From: Date: January 2, 2005 at 11:41
To the gye who have compared the re-issued cds of Dalton which this rarity. The Dalton cds are re-issued cd BOOKLETS in perfect conditions from somebody who knows things and persons from a company. Not from EMI,and generally from EMI SWEDEN.There is not exist EMI SWEDEN.Ask the EMI if you dont believe. And something very important.Noone new cds of Dalton were sealed.New are all the re-issued of them, but noone sealed.Nobody have sold new and sealed those cds.Ok?

Thanks for the information.....

From: StormSpell Date: March 23, 2005 at 1:58
Just a short note to let you know I just sold my last Galaxy copy. Cheers to the buyers - to the rest people - you snoozed, you lost

From: George Angel Date: April 5, 2005 at 9:30
IF YOU TAKE AWAY THE PRODUCTION THE CD IS EXCELENT AND ONE OF THE MUST AROUND THE GLOBE. NOTHING TOO MUCH OR TO LESS EVERYHTING IS RIGHT AND THE MELODIES ARE FLOWING RIGHT TO THE EARS!!!I HAVE TWO ORIGINAL COPIES OF THIS CD ONE IS STILL SEALED AND I HAVE NO INTENTION TO OPEN IT. IF YOU FIND THIS ALBUM BUY IT NO MATTER THE COST AND YOU WILL LOVE IT KEEPING IN MIND THAT THE ALBUM PRODUCTION IS NOT GOOD.

From: georgeangel Date: May 12, 2005 at 13:05
PEOPLE LOOK OUT FOR THE UNAUTHORISED PIRATE COPIES THAT ARE FOR SALE.THE FIRST AND ONLY EDITION IS EXTREMELY RARE AND ISSUED IN JUST A FEW COPIES, EVERY OTHER IS JUST A REPLICA THAT SOMEONE REPRINTED AND SALE,DEGRADING THE VALUE OF THE ORIGINAL AND MAKING MONEY OUT OF NOTHING.THE SAME IS HAPPENED WITH DALTON,ROBERT TEPPER AND MANY OTHER CDS THAT ARE JUST UNAUTHORISED PIRATE COPIES THAT THEY LOOK LIKE THE ORIGINAL BUT THEY ARENT.JUST LOOK OUT IF YOU ARE A REAL CD ALBUM COLLECTOR.

From: georgeangel Date: May 20, 2005 at 13:43
The site you are refering in selling that cd is used to sell on ebay 6-7 copies months ago at "buy now" price9.99,12.99,19.99,39.99,49.99 (I have paypal receipts). Its imposible to find it sealed someone reprinted it and have it on ebay almost every 10 days.Is it a fraud?People bid on again & again taking up to unbelivable high prices because they probably dont know. Its almost certain that next week will be more pirate copies to buy if you want it so dont bid high for just an unauthorised copy.

From: ArnoldLancelot Date: August 1, 2005 at 0:10
Great to add this gem to my collection specially at a 68$ bargain price! Though I would like to make a statement not on the rarity of it, but on the music; I would call it by a long shot melodic hard-rock and NOT AOR! Production specially on guitars lacks, and overall maybe a bit but quite decent tough. Amazingly hard if you don't get the great choruses along all the production and enough keys to make it melodic.

From: stark Date: January 4, 2006 at 3:24
Traded it with a Russian guy way back when. Was not aware it was such a rarity now! Great CD, even though the production could be a bit better. About Dalton re-issues. Both albums were re-issued by EMI Sweden a few years ago and are now sold for 8-10 USD in Sweden.

From: metalguf Date: May 4, 2006 at 2:36
This is heavy AOR. I think guys who love melodic metal, will like this CD. There are tons of keys, but the music is very heavy.

From: (CZ)mark-t Date: June 18, 2006 at 10:50
Relax all mans no predujice with this band on (USSR)but playing like (USA) really nice AOR great great predujice.Email me Heavy.AOR@seznam.cz.10/10. LIKE A FM and other bands.

This album used to cost a lot but nowadays you can find the re-edition for 6 bucks!.This is more or less into bands such as Glasgow and Stormbringer to name some..good albums with well structured songs, plain at times but quite enjoyable at the end.My faves tracks were "Love Me","I Wanna Make You Satisfied","Sweet Rossana" nice AOR,"Julie" solid song with very good guitar riffs and keyboards all around and "We say Goodbye" which is an excellent AOR song..tracks 1 and 2 are also good.Album that combines Melodic Rock, pieces of Metal and some AOR touches.Buy and listen!.86/100

From: hair metal again Date: May 6, 2016 at 8:53
excellent release for GALAXY GROUP with a nice balance between keys and guitars and overall a passionate sound that will hook you !"sweet rossanna","we say goodbye" are great songs and overall a fine little indie
