I can't believe no one has commented on this CD yet? I have bought a couple Pearcy solo CD's in the past and they had a couple "o.k" songs, a bunch of filler, and poor production, not the case with "Smash". IMO, this CD is a 100x better than his past solo CD's, Arcade (and I even have enjoyed Smash more than some of RATT's albums). The songs, musicianship and productions are all really good, some stand-out songs "Ten Miles Wide", "Lollipop", Hit Me With A Bullet", "Jamie", "I Can't Take It". Fans of RATT (especially the Infestaion CD) and 70's/80's hard rock won't be disappointed.

I have been sitting on this album for awhile now, trying to let it absorb in many different ways. Really never been a fan of SP solo stuff, but a huge RATT fan. With being signed to Frontiers' I had hoped for bit more from this release - I was ultimately disappointed. This is a very sonically confusing album...not hearing too much flow of consistency here. Many tracks have that element of RATT (which could easily be RATT tracks), some are more modern type like the 90's version of SP solo stuff. The album appears to be more unfinished than anything and almost rushed in collection of songs - no consistency in sound. An easily forgotten album in 2017, a few listens and shelved IMO.Unfortunately, this album did not do much to impress me for constant return listening. HIGHLIGHT TRACKS: #2,4,5,6,8,11. MY RATINGS: 60/100.

Impressive...easily the best solo release he's ever put out.The riffs and songs are solid on this thing.Gotta say the dude straight up kicks ass behind the mic on these tunes.'Ten Miles Wide'..'Rain'..'Want Too Much' & 'Passion Infinity' all rip! Well done SP.

this affair is very average.two or three great songs in the vein of ratt,of course, but the other songs are an ocean of average songs.

I just do not get Pearcy. I pretty much own all his solo output from the actual solo albums to projects including VD,Vertex & Arcade, and while I understand he probably wants to stretch his wings musically, for some reason his actual solo albums mostly feel so uninspired and dull. Yeah, there is nothing inherently wrong with them, they just fail to excite. Overall this is not a bad album but it is hardly one that will get multiple spins. While there have been odd gems dotted here and there on all his projects, the only one that was truly great outside Ratt was Arcade.
