| A Classic!! This is probably the best and certainly one of the earliest albums to combine rock and funk effectively. AC/DC style riffing with catchy songs topped off with the glorius vocals of Baby Jean. A must have. Look for the ltd millenium edition with 6 bonus live tracks

| Great stuff & well ahead of its time. Far heavier than the likes of Dan Reed,Stevie Salas & RHCP,but more commercial and accessable than Living Color! Lets just hope their other albums get released on CD!

| Powerful music & the groove never stops. I'd've hated to share the bill with this band on this tour. Hot music by hotter performers! I love "Iron Age"!

| Mother's Finest never sounded more focused and inspired than it does on this excellent album, and forceful gems like "Rock 'N Roll 2 Nite," "U Turn Me On" and "Movin' On". A diamond in the rough. Highly recommended!!

| 'Bout time this one had a cd re-issue as it really is one of those 'Classic' albums and proves that Mothers Finest were one hell of a kickass band. 'Movin' On' kicks things off in fine fashion and is a cracking track,Powerful, yet melodic,(which pretty much sums up the rest of the excellent material on this disc). The thundering rhythm section of Wizzard & BB has to be heard to be believed in places and is one of the highlights of the whole disc along with the mega voice of Baby Jean. Essential

Listening to this decent heavy Hard Rock release.The band separated from the funky stuff they did previously to this album in order to get into a harder sound..."Movin' On" & "Rock 'N' Roll 2 Nite" are my faves...tracks 5,7,8 & 10 are also appealing ones.83/100

| As the title suggests, The Iron Age saw Mother's Finest making a conscious decision to emphasize their hard rock side over their R&B elements. The funk is still there, particularly in the unusually loud and active bass playing. But these songs are heavier than most of what was on AOR radio in '81, like Foreigner or Journey or Squier, and, for another female vocalist, way heavier than Pat Benatar. Maybe not as powerful as AC/DC (but what was at that time?), this is in the same neighborhood as High 'n' Dry-era Leppard or heavy Hagar. If you're a rawker and you never heard this band before, The Iron Age is the one to go for.

| And if you're listening for the first time and wondering why songs like "Movin' On," "Rock 'n' Rkll 2 Nite," "U Turn Me On," "All The Way" and "Gone With Th' Rain" didn't become hits in their time and later classic-rock staples, look at the release date and look at the band, and remember that the people in charge didn't know what to do with Michael Jackson's "Beat It" either upon its release as a single. A band like this just totally confused the programmers. The closest Mother's Finest got to mainstream success was Joyce Kennedy dueting with Jeffrey Osborne a few years later.

| MF was / is pretty big in The Netherlands. Piece of the rock, Baby Love, Hard rock lover, all radio staples.
