Sadly lacking in direction. Track 1 is basically awful, however track 9 'Be Free' is one of the best songs in their career - straight outta Electric. If you can find it in a bargain bin (i did), buy it for Be Free (man it so shoulda been a single!!!), but for the most part its a pretentious mess that doesn't know if it wants to tackle with your mind or just rock you out. |

I agree with the notion that this disc requires a few listens to be fully appreciated.A big departure from the over-produced "Ceremony" and "sonic Temple".A welcome change ,and Ian himself said he thought the two previous releases were garbage. This disc is more upfront and earthy , I would call it The Cult's "White album". |

After hearing "Sonic Temple" (which I liked) I had to find another Cult album to listen to. I just picked this one up yesterday. It will be gone tomorrow. Did not like it at all. Too heavy and dark! |

after their 3 great hard rock previous releases they decided to do something more rock and not so hard rockin.of course i disagree with that direction they took ,but the result isnt bad.i would say that is a n extremely confused release with some great moments like "star","joy " and "saints are down" but the rest are most of them fillers.overall an average one for me |

I've never met an album by The Cult that I didn't like. The single Coming Down is probably the best track but the entire album is quite good. |
