| This is a cool CD of laid back, blues based rock n' roll. Heavily influenced by the Stones but it still has a lot of it's own charm.

| I keep it short : one of the biggest CRAP acts and CD's EVER !!!! I understand Koogles : just as most southern acts, this band don't belong on these pages ! Next step : Michael Jackson (after all Eddie Van Halen played some solo's on his Thriller record !) !

| Awesome album of blues-drenched rock 'n' roll with great hooks throughout. This and 'Southern Harmony' are probably my two favorites by them. Also love the stuff they did with Jimmy Page. Just a great all-around band.

| Funny, you can have Blackeyed Susan and the Quireboys on the site and no one complains... then you place a band on here who sound EXACTLY the same, but the only difference is they had more success outside of the 80s rock scene and suddenly people start whining that it shouldn't be here. ANYWAY, this is a great album, my favorite of theirs, but my pick for top track is actually the bonus track of Don't Wake Me: 100804c350ure Aerosmith!

| Rock N'Roll Nonsense?!?!?! This was a nice breath of fresh air back when it came out. You can't help but tap your foot to Twice As Hard, Jealous Again, and Hard To Handle when they came on the radio. I didn't care too much for their other releases except for the song Stop Kicking My Heart Around. I'd have to say this was somewhat a classic in it's time. It still stands up well to new releases as well.

| Freaky-please stop commenting on Cd's you dont like!! If a Cd is bad say why-dont keep saying crap, shit or whatever with no reasoning-it makes you look an idiot!! Production is great, performances are high and the songs on this Cd are basic Rock'n'Roll. Hard to Handle, Twice as hard etc are great songs with lots of soul. If you like Blues, RocknRoll, Country, Southern timged rock theres somthing here for you.

| 'Hard To Handle' .... one of my all time favorite songs...EVER!!! LOL....WHAT a line....'Hey little thing let me light your candle, cause Mama I'm sure hard to handle'!!!!! 'She Talks To Angels'....just beautiful!!! Can't help but sing along to 'Jealous Again'.. GREAT memories with this one!!!

| Cont... If you actually added anything of any literary value, then and only then can you criticise me or MJ, T-Bone, Blue Charvel etc. Your ignorance is only outweighed by your pidgeon English. With regard to the production on the Norway cd(my biggest problem with the disc) being piss poor-is that not a valid point? Pride of Lions is not an awful cd but it IS a bit bland for my tastes-again a valid point.

| Freaky,you consistantly use the word "classic" for bands that are obviously not yet you overlook a band that does truly follow a "classic" vein. The Crowes sound is straight out of the book of "classic" rock written by The Rolling Stones & Small Faces amongst others,and anyone who says those two bands aint "classic" is a "classic" arsehole if ya ask me! This album might not be original,but it was a breath of fesh air when it came out,a case of getting back to basics!

| Kind of odd to see The Black Crowes on this page, but this is a pretty rocking album in places. Favorite track is Twice As Hard, but all the hits are good and the filler is not bad at all. 8/10

| Very good solid rock with master class groove. Like said AOR Freaky this is for sure pure crap, reason why Jimmy Page involved his small talent playing with this band and having his name added to the band's name on a release... AOR Freaky...what else could we expect from someone bearing such a pseudo ???

| this is a very pleasent band! very classic 70īs rock! and the otis redding cover is great! just idiots that have ears for 1 type of music will consider this shit! i like it, itīs very similar to the quireboys, i think they (quireboys) are a bit better because probably from were they come from , they are neerer to the sound that influenced this type of neo 70īs rock! (but still have theyīre finger tip!)

| This is the only release that I have by theses guys and I love it. Great 70's sounding music that came out in the 90's. I think they brought their bluesy sounding southern rock 'n' roll out at the perfect time. It was a pleasant shot in the arm for the music scene.

| I hated this band when they came out because I consider them to have helped drive the nail in the coffin of the music I really like. If that makes any sense. But, now that i'm older I like this stuff.

| well freaky u sound like well what can i say "a freak" how could u not like this album every song is a winner nice tight bluesey guitars and great singing why shouldn't they be on this site they rock and this masterpeice proves it it's a shame that chris robinson isn't all there because they have such talent and though i do like all their albums they have never come close 2 the sound quality or style of this 1 i recomend this 2 all people people with common sense that is

Mixed comments above about this debut by TBC...IMHO this is quite good...straight Rock'N'Roll with a bit of southern feel...songs such as "Jelaous Again","Could I've Been So Blind","Hard To Handle"(great!),"Thick N' Thin" & "Struttin' Blues" re kinda  ones...a matter of tastes but i thumb this one up!!!.90/100

| The Black Crowes tried very hard to make sure everyone knew they weren't a metal band playing at southern-rock. Lord knows there were plenty of those in the early '90's (many inspired by the Crowes' success, no doubt). Chris Robinson was constantly trashing the popular hair bands of the day, often by name. In short, they wanted to make it clear they were not a part of that scene in any way whatsoever. Fair enough, as their music is really not metallic at all, with guitars that don't crunch consistently, and piano and organ further smoothing things out. It's southern-rock, but at the time, the band associated with the semi-alternative bands coming out of Georgia at the time, like Drivin' 'n' Cryin'. Very much influenced by the Stones and old R&B, rather than the usual hard-rock touchstones of Aerosmith and Kiss. My favorites would be "Twice As Hard," "Jealous Again," "Sister Luck," "Seein' THings" and "She Talks To Angels." However, I don't care if I never hear "Hard To Handle" again.

| Definitely not bad album but whenever the best song (IMO) of an album is a cover (#6) I feel the band haven't utilize all their potentiality. I would set this album somewhere between Rolling Stones and Aerosmith. Paradoxically, their old-fashioned (70s)/retro hard rock "sprinkled" with blues, southern rock and boogie was at that time being a new attempt (as CC has already written here) trying to attract the then or new rock community... but I nearly passed it by somehow. 75/100.
