GREAT CD AOR / HR A MUST HAVE

From: Chicago-Rocker Date: April 24, 2004 at 6:27
These guys are from Chicago and I saw them play numerous times. They have got to be the best LIVE band I ever saw!!! Great harmonies, Great songs. Very energenic!!!! The David Carl Band should be HUGE!!

From: Gilley Date: June 9, 2004 at 13:05
I went to high school with David Carl, and others in this band. Dave should be as famous as Dave Matthews by now, he is SOOOO talented! Try their other release "the David Carl Band" . . . I don't know if this was their first CD, but it is really good!

From: BORDER RAT Date: July 31, 2004 at 11:06
This is excellent melodic rock. The production is super and the songs are varied and I can assure you that you will not hear the same song twice on this disc. The vocalist sometimes reminds me of MR BIG and STARSHIP at times. It is difficult to pigeon hole this cd because of its varied sound but it is a fine listen. The ballad Arms of love is my favourite on the cd.

From: Geoff Date: March 3, 2005 at 3:07
This one is pretty good. 'Arms of love' is a beautiful track and overall if you like Velocity I think you'll like this. The melodic moments are quite nice.

From: Erik Date: March 4, 2005 at 2:05
Its a nice album yes but nothing 2 spectacular. Good production tho. Killer opening song "Innocent kiss". I think its more leaning towards David Victors solo release "Proof thru the night" then his band Velocity. IMO. 7/10

From: AOR freaky Date: March 4, 2005 at 2:09
Can agree with you, Erik, on this one ! Decent, but nothing special !

From: Erik Date: March 4, 2005 at 2:16
good that we can also agree on some things AOR Freaky

David Carl now plays in a band with the former singer of Sgt. Roxx called Monkey Cocktail... great live band and 2 CDs of originals. Good stuff. see www.monkeycocktail.com they still play around Chicago and NW Indiana. Dave is awesome.

Muy buen disco el que se marca David Carl. Si a todo ello le sumamos que un gran numero de temas estan compuestos a duo junto con Jim Peterik...la garantia es total. Un saludo.

From: aorteto Date: December 2, 2006 at 16:11
Very good melodic rock, no fillers. THE ARMS OF LOVE is the same SUNSTORM song and is one of my favs together with INNOCENT KISS, FOR JACKIE and CAN`T SLOW DOWN. Fans of the old SURVIVOR ( circa CAUGHT IN THE GAME era ), will like this CD, IMO of course.

From: JOVIAOR Date: July 24, 2011 at 16:36
This CD really ROCKS!! Great AOR with traces of Survivor and David Carl sings and sounds like Eric Martin, so this is a real lost gem!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 8, 2011 at 21:43
A good album that even though Jim Peterik participated,i did not find it a killer or a must have one but certainly it has some goodie tracks ... David Carl sounds like Eric Martin at certain times and the songs have some very good back up choruses...best shots for me are "Love Is Like Heaven","Crazy Love","Can't Slow Down","Cost Of High Livin'","Arms Of Love"(solid power ballad) & "Innocent Kiss"...83/100

From: hair metal again Date: September 9, 2020 at 17:47
very good release for DAVID CARL BAND with a nice radio friendly sound and a strong production that helps the songs standout!the vocals are pretty warm and the songwriting in a high level with rockers like "innocent kiss","trapped","insatiable" and ballads like "arms of love"!thanks to MTM this gem is in our collection
