Fantastic new english AOR band, with a hard-edged AOR sound. A real find, this band and one of the very best releases of 2003. Go for it, you may not miss this one !

Double Cross are a British melodic hard rock outfit whose music is the very definition of British melodic rock and AOR. This is a very enjoyable album for a number of reasons. The style of music is a hybrid of Dare, Ten and Pride, with their own signature style not forgotten. The band don't deviate from the traditional style of delivery for UK melodic rock, but that guarantees instant attraction for fans of the style and the fact that it's done very well indeed will only further their cause.

This is a great debut by the band and alongside Pride proves that British AOR is far from dead. The guys deliver a top quality album that shines as one of the best of it's kind in recent memory. Although it's been out for a little while now, I strongly recommend it to fans of traditional melodic rock. A solid production, some very memorable songs and a varied but consistent delivery are the backbones of this very good album.

Muy buen trabajo de esta banda, me ha sorprendido muy gratamente, unos temas llenos de fuerza y calidad, gran debut , esperemos que no sea como otras bandas que tienen un gran debut y despues bajan el nivel muchisimo, de momento el mejor disco del 2003, escucharlo y opinar

Dave oxford! A smashing debut album, a little dash of journey meets euorop a touch of something new, some sky scorching guitar playing and some good old barn stormers in there. has any body noticed the similar in rick's singing too europe's joey tempest lol ..........

I spent some time with the guys in the studio listening to the tracks they'd put together before they were released. A group of great musicians with a fantatsic sound and an excellently produced album, especially Valley of the Kings (killer track!) Neil - Loungefish Recording Studio

That's good quality aor with a typical english vein.Song"How do we know"is my fave,ok generic construction but refrain is great and original.They play a good aor with lots of strong guitar riffs as an aor release(guitar work is excellent).The ballad"When 2 worlds collide"is amazing with tunes ala T'Bell,IMO.Very good cd,8/10.

i know that i´ll stand alone with my meaning, that this isn´t more than nice melodic rock. listened to this again and again, but can´t keep this songs in mind. they aren´t as catchy as they should have been. so imo a decent release and not a must. 7/10

Nope you dont stand alone on this one Olover. I agree. Its an ok album but nothing really stands out. None of the songs really keep "hanging". And zvroxx i think T,Bell is far more catchier. So yeah 7/10 is really enuf here.

Yeah Oliver, as Erik says I don't think you're alone at all. I'd actually be giving this a 6/10 at the absolute most, and that would be pressing the matter. 'When we were young' is a nice melodic rocker and 'Only the strong' is very good too, but aside from that this is just run-of-the-mill AOR to me - as z4roxx says, very generic and to me it's rather unispired. Reminds me of the weaker more standard side of Lost Weekend. Yeah, it's decent but my final rating might be 5/10. Sorry guys.

Indeed Erik there's no comparrison with T'Bell which I consider by far one of my fave band in Scandinavia....I've only said that refrain of the second track is in the same style,generic construction but very good tune.Anyway this cd is not killer or awesome,just decent good release...

Freaky, We've currently got a "pencilled in date" of October 2005 for No.2 (As yet untitled). Thanks for your comments guys!...seriously, it all helps. To accept the praise, you need to understand & appreciate the criticisms.(You can't please everybody!) The second album is shaping up very nicely at the moment & we're looking forward to a great 2005!

Sorry Erik no news about T'Bell,I think they split-up but I am not certain.I'll try to ask about them...T'Bell was killer!!!I could recommend you another good aor band with some pop touch,they call Heaven Up,are from Finland but all lyrics are in their mother tongue unfortunately.Very good stuff and personal/original soundin'and production...

This is a little more AOR sounding than the likes of Ten or Pride, and does sound very dated. It's still well worthy of investment if you like the above bands though, and songs like "How Do We Know" and "When 2 Worlds Collide" are top quality. Great harmony vocals means you won't skip over even the weaker tracks, but I do hope their new album is a little more consistent in terms of songwriting. Good, but not great album, but nowhere near T'BELL IMHO. 7.5/10.

Meritorio disco por donde se le mire. Rock Melódico de buena factura con una producción muy aceptable y un cantante que me recuerda a Mennen de los Zinatra y musicalmente tambien a ellos. Temas muy parejos todos, algunos preciosistas, otros rifferos pero sin perder el sentido de la melodía y los solos son mas que buenos. "When Two Worlds Collide" "When We Were Young" "My Heart Belongs to You" son mis favoritas. Los coros algunos un poco Pomposos por cierto pero hechos con clase. 9/10

Good Melodic Rock/AOR album, bueno cierto y de lo mejorcito de este 2003 How Do We Know, When We Were Young, One Lonely Night, All My Days, My Heart Belongs to You buenisimos cortes el resto se porta bien no hay algun tema grande pero cumple 8/10. En el dia mas brillante, en la noche mas oscura, ninguna maldad escapara de mi vista, todos los que adoran el poder del mal que se cuiden de mi poder. Cuiden este mundo humanos quiza el mas maravilloso en todo el universo.

Excellent album, a real AOR-Melodic-Hardrock-Masterpiece!!! "How do we know" is the outstanding track here an even a perfect example for their brilliant songwriting...simply A MUST HAVE!!!!!

GOOD CD 79/100 BRITISH AOR/MELODIC ROCK agree with the positives Comments here now you can find RICK CHASE with ALIBI along with Vince o'Regan , their new opus "VOICE OF REASON"is very good too !

Yeah guys!,a pleasant album indeed...AOR/Hard Rock structured songs with "catchy" patterns such ones as "Touch The Sun","When We Were Young" & "Only The Strong" plus some other goodies such as "Reach Out","How Do we Know" & "One Lonely Night/All My Days"..in general lines,a good one to have...87/100
