excellent debut by this guys.i find this album a bit difficult to be compared to as they sound a bit different to the typical scandinavian hard rock sound but...what the hell! i'll give it a try after all nobodys perfect right?...imagine a mixture of tnt+fate with a bit of skagarack and i think youre just about there.no it doesn't top any of those 3 bands mentioned but it does deserve a place in the top quality scandinavian hard rock columm.one you should keep an eye on.

"Call" has to be the best song on this CD!

From: Rick G Date: February 24, 2004 at 1:29
Really Good Album. The song "Are We Lovers" the back-up vocals i compare to Def Leppard, all round good album that rocks. Two thumbs up!

Came across a guy selling most of his cds and this one was nestled in their like a cosy kitten! I got it three yrs ago and its still a constant in the death deck. If you love the sounds of a band trying to stretch themselves but still delivering a album packed with more hooks than a butchers chiller ur gonna bleed for this one. Its heavy on the gtr, think Lynch mobs 1st, and the choruses are of the type that drag you in to give you an aural bashing but leave you more than satisfied in the end!

GREAT DEBUT FROM THIS BAND. LOTS OF OUTSTANDING HARD ROCK SONGS TO SATISFY ANY FAN .THE GUITARRIST IS VERY GOOD . IN GENERAL , A CD TO BE LISTENED LOUD IN YOUR CAR AND GOOD TRIP. POLE POSITION ROCKS .

If you like your melodic rock somewhere in between the eighties Swedish scene and guitar histrionics, then look no further than Pole Position. Their sound is bludgingly heavy courtesy of mainman Lars Boquist, but they keep the melodic content always at the forefront.

I aggree to all written about this cd. Its phenomenal. Good thick production.

FUCK..........Sorry BEEEEEEP. This one hell of a cd. I have a lot of cd's but this one takes the price. ITS FANTASTIC. I have no clue why these guys never made it BIGGER THAN EUROPE. the production is great and especially the guitar player is amazing.

From: Stevie St Ford Date: May 14, 2004 at 11:36
These guys should have been massive, not since ABBA has there been a more impressive outfit to emerge from the land of big boobied blondes! Check those keyboards out, if this doesn't make any self respecting rocker pick up a casio I don't know what will! Of course I am being sarcastic, the reality is that I would rather stick thumbtacks in my eyes than listen to this rubbish.

Stevie St Ford right again. What you cave-dwellers fail to see is that beyond the lavish production of this album there is little more than terrible accents, big hair and cliched lyrics that have made the hard rock genre the laughing stock it is today. Would they have been signed outside of scandinavia?... err....are you kidding me you bovine morons!

From: Great Dane Date: May 14, 2004 at 17:26
Well Stevie. I guess its a matter of taste right. If lameass bands like Poison, Every Mothers Nightmare, Bullet Boys and many more could be signed to major labels, so could this outfit. this is a superb release.

From: beto Date: July 20, 2004 at 22:56

From: JOSE Date: July 29, 2004 at 20:14

From: Speedster 56 Date: July 31, 2004 at 4:11
Good Scandi band that almost borders on modern rock....I said "almost"! This is firmly placeable within the hard rock/AOR genre that we all know. Just a tingle of 90's attitude lurking under the surface is all I think. "Got Me Going" and "Get Over" are two of my favs here. The band had a second cd called "Bigger"...it wasn't! That cd is a worthless piece of sh*t! Avoid it, but do pick up the self-titled if possible. Nice stuff!

From: BETO Date: August 4, 2004 at 21:54
GRACIAS POR LA INFORMACION UN DATO MAS QUE ESTILO TIENE EL CANTANTE Y QUISIERA SABER SI HAS ESCUCHADO A TERRA NOVA (COMO SUENAN) Y SAHARA -QUIERO CONSEGUIRLO PERO NO EXISTE NI EN AOR HEAVEN

From: Kip Date: September 1, 2004 at 2:15
This album has always intrigued me. It has 6 or 7 very good songs. The guitar playing is so tight. The production is very good. But there's something about the way he sings that makes it hard to understand the lyrics, and sometimes it comes off as if he's just shouting in key. The melodies are excellent and the music is top notch even if there is some filler. Top songs include: Out In The Night, Are We Lovers, Love Running Child, and Got Me Going. Recommended. 8.5/10

From: Geoff Date: September 1, 2004 at 2:40
'Out In The Night' could not be a better start to the CD - killer melodic hard rock track. 'Call' is wonderful, 'Are We Lovers' is awesome melodic hard rock, 'Beautiful Ice' is an interesting and cool song, but my fave of the album has to be 'Get Over'. Funny; my favourite two tracks are the first and the last. The band sound awesome anyway, and the lesser tracks are still very good. Great album.

From: Kip Date: September 4, 2004 at 1:44
Hey Geoff, I agree the opening riff and voice melody of Out In the Night is a perfect opener. I really like Get Over too, just listen to the intense riffage at the beginning of the song! WOW! What a way to start! I'd also like to point out that 'Belinda' starts out with one of the most catchy and awesome riffs I've ever heard, and then just DIES as it shifts way too suddenly, straying away from the opening melody. Sign is another solid track, thats reminicant of a power ballad. Great stuff.

From: JOSE Date: September 10, 2004 at 22:17

From: BETO Date: September 20, 2004 at 21:36
GRACIAS YA ESCUCHE 2 CANCIONES LA 2 Y LA 5 Y TIENES RAZON ES UN SONIDO MAS AMERICANO AUNQUE PREFIERO A XYZ QUIZAS SE PARECE MAS AL SEGUNDO DE ELLOS. PERO MI ESTILO VA MAS AL DEL PRIMERO.SAHARA NO HAY. ES UN ESTILO A LO STREET TALK PERO NO TAN BIEN PRODUCIDO Y TERRA NOVA ME CONSEGUI EL PRIMERO ES HARD ROCK MELODICO ALEGRON Y COMERCIAL NO SON UNA GRAN MARAVILLA PERO SE DEJAN ESCUCHAR. QUE ES DE CODA. SOY DEL PERU. SALUDOS A POR SI ACASO HAS ESCUCHADO A ANDROIDS SON FINESES

From: Sergio Date: September 27, 2004 at 8:32

From: beto Date: September 27, 2004 at 21:26

From: BETO Date: September 27, 2004 at 21:56
SERGIO ESCUCHASTE ALGUNA VEZ A LOS DANESES PANGEA ES OTRO GRAN GUITARRISTA Y ADEMAS CANTA MUY BIEN.

From: Sergio Date: September 28, 2004 at 11:57
CHAU

BETO: a propósito, cuales son tus gustos ?

From: Beto Date: September 29, 2004 at 20:38
Aquí te doy algunos nombres Def Leppard,Harem Scarem,Emerald Rain,TNT,Pretty Maids, Dokken,Europe,Whitesnake,Glory,Jaded Heart,Frontline, Journey,Toto, Storm,Nation,Alias, Mr.Big, Evergrey,Kamelot,Conception,Saga,Rush,Nigtwish

From: Beto Date: September 29, 2004 at 20:58

From: Sergio Date: October 1, 2004 at 15:31
Beto: fuera del hard/aor, tengo 3 clásicos: THERION-VOVIN, NIGHTWISH-OCEANBORN y THE GATHERING-MANDYLION, aparte me gustan ERA, BUNBURI, LA OREJA DE VAN GOGH, JOSÉ LUIS PERALES y otros; dentro del hard/aor, TEN, DEFF LEPPARD, BONFIRE, ICON, TESLA, AKA, SHAKRA, FAIR WARNING, WILD FRONTIER, SATELLITE, THRESHOLD ( ESTOS 2 ÚLTIMOS PROG.), LOS 2 PRIMEROS DE BALANCE OF POWER, CRYSTAL BLUE, CRYSTAL BALL, SURVIVOR, PUSH, TOWER CITY, EDDIE MONEY, JAIME KYLE, CITA, GUILD OF AGES, PRIDE, WHITE LION, LANA L

From: Sergio Date: October 1, 2004 at 15:36

From: BETO Date: October 1, 2004 at 19:05

From: beto Date: October 1, 2004 at 19:11

From: beto Date: October 1, 2004 at 19:32

From: Sergio Date: October 4, 2004 at 11:35

From: Sergio Date: October 4, 2004 at 11:38

From: Sergio Date: October 4, 2004 at 11:46

From: Sergio Date: October 4, 2004 at 11:49

From: BETO Date: October 5, 2004 at 14:04
Sergio que tal: Sobre AKA NO ENCONTRE MUCHO PERO CON LO QUE ME CUENTAS MAS O MENOS SACO LA LINEA. AUNQUE CITA NO ES DE MIS PREFERIDOS,PERO LAS BALADAS DE REO SON MUY BUENAS.UNA CONSULTA ESTARIA INTERESADO EN INTERCAMBIAR MUSICA POR QUE ME INTERESA UNA COPIA DE SAHARA.TE PODRIA DAR DESPUES MI CORREO. lo del sello wet lo conozco pero no hay todavía pero si llega hellion y otros; estan a 12$.Bien a bientot mon ami.Chau.

From: BETO Date: October 11, 2004 at 21:00

From: Sergio Date: October 11, 2004 at 22:17
Yo estoy bien Beto. CHAU !

From: Sergio Date: October 11, 2004 at 22:23

From: Beto Date: October 12, 2004 at 20:07

From: Date: October 12, 2004 at 20:08

From: Beto Date: October 12, 2004 at 20:12
Chau

From: Sergio Date: October 13, 2004 at 15:16

From: BETO Date: October 14, 2004 at 20:22

From: beto Date: October 14, 2004 at 20:26
Chau.

From: beto Date: October 18, 2004 at 20:24
Bueno espero tu respuesta.

From: beto Date: October 18, 2004 at 20:30

From: Sergio Date: October 19, 2004 at 14:22
No te pierdas y qualquier cosa tenés mi E-MAIL. Nos vemos por ahí.

From: BETO Date: October 19, 2004 at 19:42
Bueno cuidate

From: beto Date: October 19, 2004 at 19:44
Chau

From: Beto Date: October 19, 2004 at 21:48
Sergio te mande una canción de Within Temptation.

From: Sergio Date: October 20, 2004 at 14:08

I was pleasantly surprised with this record. In my experience Swedish singers sometimes have trouble singing up to even the lowest of American singer standards, but the lead singer here does a fantastic job. The songs are good hard, slightly unpolished rock with an interesting twist, definitely one to check out.

Superb production, heavy yet always melodic rock songs. This is a gem. Its indeed unbelievable these guys didnot make it bigger. This baby is right up there with the very best 10 albums to come out of Scandinavia. Just fantastic songwriting and so consistent throughout the whole album.9,8/10

Wow, do these guy BRING IT. I was dubious before hearing this that it might be just another example of run-of-the-mill, melodic Scandi-rock. Man, was I wrong. Put Nuno Bettencourt in Def Leppard and let them cook up some ferocious party rock and you'd get this album. The two words that come immediately to mind are CLEAN and TIGHT. Of course, those come to mind after the words, IN YOUR FACE. The guitar is up-front in the mix to showcase Lars' Nuno-style fingerwork, which gives it a frenetic feel very much like Extreme minus the funk. Then there are the choral vocals which evoke Leppard to the hilt ("Are We Lovers"). Another comparison is the Holland album (especially on "Out In The Night"). There's a slight Axl Rose quality in Jonas' voice at times, but not annoying like Axl's could be. Good mix of song feels, not merely a one trick effort. Speaker-shredding production (although I could've used a bit more drums in the mix). All-in-all, fantastic stuff for maximum rockage. 92 / 100
