From: Magnus Date: November 1, 2001 at 17:41
Yes! This is magic...This is a must have for all AOR fans out there..If you find one single bad song on this cd..Please let me know Jim Jidhed is the man!

Just found out about this band from watching a movie. I'm amazed of their talent and vocals. Should have been a top performing group in the 80's along with journey and def leppard.

From: Shoemaker Date: May 10, 2002 at 4:14
This album is very good melodic stuff. So sorry they recorded the same album with the weak Pete Sandberg, and the production is crappy pop shit like. Jim Jidhed is the better choice, after he left, the band began to suck.

From: Carsten Date: November 30, 2002 at 0:27
A friggin' clssic!! I remember hearing the song 'Brave New Love' as the closing song on the movie 'The Blob' (of all the weird places songs wind up!). I promptly went out and bought the album. Love every song! Get the Euro pressing however (this one with the ice palace on the cover), it contains different (and more) songs than the US pressing and they are much better. One of the songs on the US pressing is a Carpenter's cover song!?

From: aeshna@hotmail Date: April 25, 2003 at 7:24
yup a friggin classic.... hunt this one down

From: shootingstar Date: May 20, 2003 at 10:41

From: Jim Jidhed Date: May 28, 2003 at 16:56

From: Arian Date: June 11, 2003 at 19:52
This band is the BEST Melodic Rock band that AOR has ever made. I only compare it LION. Anything else is SHIIIIIIIIITTT!!!! I don't fucking need anything else except this kind of music! This rules!

From: RR-Finland Date: September 25, 2003 at 5:23
So poor cover art that you might think this is not a worth of dime... Well, you're WRONG!! I bought this record once and while I was listening it first time, smile came out on my face track to track. Real great tunes and good AOR vocals on it! I recorded from LP to CD and sent it to my big bro and it was he's fav for a long time!

From: Andreas The Kid Date: January 15, 2004 at 15:28
I cant believe it. ONE song is good on this one. 'Jaime remember' the rest isn't good at all. I cant find any grooves on this album...boring! But with all the positive reviews, I have to give it one more chance.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: January 17, 2004 at 15:20
FOR Andreas The Kid. your these crazy man. you don't have hearings or that. or you don't have good pleasure THIS A EXCELLENT GROUP OF AOR!!!!!!!!

From: NightCrawler Date: March 14, 2004 at 23:36
By chance, watched the last 30 secs of the blob (and i think the movie sucked) but was blown away by the song at the end and found out that the band is called Alien (somehow they released a mini album in 84 or 83 and was disbanded according to sleazeroxx.com but to hear that there is a great album released in 88?? best year for most AOR bands anyway. its a must buy now that with the new House of Lords and the new to be released Europe

From: Peter Date: March 16, 2004 at 17:15

Not the best album ever but surely good.

From: iacob cristian Date: February 15, 2005 at 11:28
All that i can say is that this band is monumental ! I have just the first album and it's pure magic. All the tracks are monumental.Together with Europe,Da Vinci,Glory,Dalton,Treat,Bad Habit and Talk Of The Town they lead the world melodic hard rock scene.Scandinavian melodic hard rock is the best in the world !

That's trully amazing. Songs like 'Wings of Fire' and 'Tears don't put up the fire' just put them at the same level (if not better) as Da Vinci, Treat, Europe. Production is the weakest point.

From: The Dolphin Date: April 7, 2005 at 17:33
The cd is great!!I have the Eu version. Can someone tell me if the production on the US version is different?and if the sound is better? Thanks

From: AORock Date: August 7, 2006 at 14:03
This album is good.. it sounds very much like Zeno whit michael flexig !

From: zappacosta Date: August 8, 2006 at 9:49
It's dangerous to make comparisons to other bands and if you do so make sure you are spot on. So forget the above comment about Zeno. It sounds nothing like it.

From: SangreAzulForever Date: September 24, 2006 at 11:48
WHOAAA!!! This is a must have!!! All the songs are magical, mind-blowing and monumental. One of my top five best albums ever. Great guitar work, superb keys and incredible voice. 10/10 for sure.

From: camelot66 Date: November 22, 2006 at 12:50
I am a big Fan of this Band.My favorite Singer defently was Pete Sandberg. He has the Magic in the Voice that Jim Jidhead will never have.My God what would happen if Sandberg had sung on this Album as well.It would be fantastic.Do yourself a favour and buy Live in Stockholm from 1990.Pete rules Alien.

From: Pudelrockarn Date: March 4, 2007 at 10:18
This is pure magic from my home country, and it's solid Scandianvian hard rock/AOR along with Glory's Danger in this game. In Sweden we say 'pudelrock' to this music.. There were lot's of those bands in the middle of 80's with big poodle hairs and did always had a keyboardist in the band. How can you forget 'Dreamer', that song really blows me away!! What a great solo by Tony Borg.. This song is a classic in my book! I give it 10 out of 10. Excellent disc, buy it or die!

nothing to do with ZENO! haha

From: Real rock fan Date: February 16, 2009 at 13:44
One of those albums that I thought was okay 20 years ago but now think it is stunning! So many great songs, remember Brave New Love from the movie - The Blob (remake). Great stuff

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 13, 2010 at 18:29
Not the best album ever but surely good..i wrote that in 2005 but now i'd say this..not the best album ever but surely a 100% a must!!!!..buy it!!!..100/100

Tears Don't Put Out the Fire

From: 123charpenay Date: June 1, 2013 at 14:46
i always was very surprised by the comments about this record.rock time (french magasine specialist in melodic rock) said "a classic, a masterpiece, the top of scandi a o r, ect ect...).for me this album have nothing extraordinary it s simply an average scandi a o r realise.not more.

From: MysticHealer Date: June 1, 2013 at 16:40
A great album for sure. Classic? Possibly, but realistically no. The production is very weak and has zero balls to it, and there are also 1 or 2 songs that are slightly filler. They are not poor songs but just not up to the rest that are on offer here, and that is the reason i would never rate this more than a 9/10. Strangely the original demos of some of the songs here are incredibly superior to these supposedly 'highly pollished' versions. The original demo for the song 'Mirror' for instance is totally mesmerising, whereas on here it fails to go anywhere and never reaches the heights of the demo version. Such a pity. Great album? yes. Classic of the genre? Should have been, but unfortunately No, not quite.

Hi MysticHealer, where did you found the demos? Can you upload the demos and send to my email? tito.the.titan@gmail.com

From: titothetitan Date: October 27, 2017 at 11:50
This is one of my all-time favourite albums of all-time. I remember the first time listening to the song 'Brave New Nove' in the ending credits of 'The Blob' and it completly blew me away. The only low point in the production. The rest is simply stellar. Too bad that Jim left the band so early and they never recovered after losing him.

From: titothetitan Date: October 31, 2017 at 8:47
They didn't re-recorded the album with Pete Sandberg. Pete sings in two songs: 'The Air that I Breathe' and 'Now Love' to introduce him as the new vocalist. Some songs were remixed.

From: titothetitan Date: November 17, 2020 at 20:23
They weren't huge bacause Jim quit the band so early and then they [the original line-up #2] dissolved in late 1989 before the second album could be completed. What happened later (Shiftin' Gear) is another story as bass player Ken Sandin stated in a interview: "We didn't know about Shiftin' Gear until it hit the stores. Something we were not happy about it. We thought it was going to be a Tony's solo album, not Alien!".
