Fans of Mark Free and FM U.K. are headed for a treat with this one. Smooth, well-assembled AOR numbers like "Go Easy" and "Tears Don't Put Out the Fire" make this a compulsory CD for your collection! Recommended.

From: Chris C. Date: January 22, 2002 at 12:25
Agree with the reviews above. Not a A+ CD, but really good for traditional AOR fans!

From: José Carlos Date: February 26, 2002 at 11:02
Típico sonido AOR escandinavo de calidad, aunque para mi gusto no es su mejor disco.

This is one of THE best releases that came out of sweden.Excellent executed rock with extraordinary guitars from Mr Borgh and vocals from Mr Sandbergh & Jidhead to go along with.Every track is simply a hit with the best being "Go Easy" that will syuck in your head for weeks,"Feel My Love","Brave New Love","Tears Don't Put Out the Fire".If you like DA VINCI,DALTON,DOMINOE,STAGE DOLLS,220 VOLT then this is a MUST HAVE.Satisfaction guaranteed.

THIS CD MAKES ME CRAZY! IT'S A SHAME THERE ARE A LOT OF BANDS IN THE "BACKGROUND" WHO WOULD ANYWAY DESERVE A WORLDWIDE SUCCESS...

From: Geoff Date: May 24, 2004 at 22:32
The best Alien CD by far - either this version or the early version with Jim Jidhed alone (Haven't heard that one, though I'd love to). But this is a great melodic rock release, full of class, great performances and killer songs. Blew me away the first time I heard it and is still a classic today.

Pedazo de disco inigualable, bastante mejor que el crash, los mejores de Escandinavia,y eso que hay unos cuantos.HIGHLY RECOMENDED.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 0:12
Some nice sweedish aor. "Tears Don't Put Out The Fire" "Go Easy" and "Brave New Love" are great, but the weak cover "Only One Woman" was the big hit off of this one, in Sweeden at least. 8/10

From: akenatonsegundo Date: June 22, 2004 at 14:37

From: TIM (2) Date: October 26, 2004 at 2:34
This is an absolute AOR gem. This is the U.S version, and has a slightly weaker song choice than the EURO version, and also has the slightly weaker Pete Sandberg on vocals on some tracks rather than the awesome Jim Jidhed. Regardless, it's still a near-classic disc, with only the lightweight mixing and the big single "Only One Woman" letting the side down. "Touch My Fire" and "Tears..." are great examples of smooth keyboard-driven AOR. 9/10 for the U.S version, 9.5/10 for the EURO version.

From: TIM (2) Date: May 25, 2005 at 2:52
You can find a couple of clips from new songs on the bands official website, with Jim Jidhed back on vocals. The album is much delayed from it's original release date of early 2005, but judging by the quality of the new clips then they can hold it back as long as they like...

From: PAUL Date: August 27, 2005 at 14:18
I DON'T AGREE AT ALL.THIS ALBUM IS FOR SURE ONE OF THE BEST FROM SCANDINAVIA,BUT NOT THE GREATEST AOR EVER!I LOVE TONY BORG'S GUITAR WORKING HERE.SIMILAR TO JOHN NORUM,VERY MELODIC AND FAST SOMETIMES."TEARS DON'T PUT OUT THE FIRE"(PERFECT RYTHM AND REFREN),"GO EASY"(THE HIGHLIGHT-CLASSIC!),"I'VE BEEN WAITING"(CAN YNGWIE PLAYS THE SOLO?)AND THE REST ARE ALL BRILLIANT!8.5/10 FOR THIS ONE.

From: akisryche Date: December 31, 2005 at 9:49
Now, what can we say here...Well probably one of the best AOR records ever made.No filler songs here dudes.Every song a diamond."Tears dont put out the heartache","Brave new love","Go Easy"etc.Pure classic. If you consider yourself a true fan of melodic hard rock and not owe this record maybe you should try Chinese jazz instead...

One hell of a classic AOR album. I can remember watching the remake of the movie 'The Blob'. At the end the credits rolled accompanied by a song named 'Brave New Love'. And I just had to have this song! It was like angels made this song and give it to us to enjoy! So I ran to the store and bought it. And I truly enjoyed listening to the rest of the album as well. Great stuff, mostly easy going. But Brave New Love is simply one of the best AOR/Melodic songs around!

From: Pudelrockarn Date: March 4, 2007 at 10:24
Pete Sandberg is also good on vocals, maybe a little weaker than Jim Jidhed. This disc is a classic as the Swedish version with Jim Jidhed is. But it has a better production than the Swedish one and has weaker songs. 9 out of 10. Highly recommended!

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: March 15, 2007 at 2:18
Awesome! Sounds like early Strangeways only that Pete Sandberg's vocals are way better than Tony Lidell's. Full of killer keyboards and guitars, will love this CD if you're a fan od Strangeways,Survivor,Streets, etc. A MASTERPIECE. 10/10

From: Melo Date: April 11, 2007 at 4:05
Ein Klassiker, keine Frage ! Ab und an aber arg schmalzig.Trotzdem 9 dicke Punkte ! Meine Faves: Track 1,2,7,8,9

THE AIR THAT I BREATHE GRAN COVER DE NUEVO,TOUCH MY FIRE Y CIERRA CON LA MEJOR DEL DISCO EN MI OPINION NOW LOVE MAGNIFICA AOR EN ESPLENDOR. LARGA VIDA AL HARD-AOR Y A LOS ALIEN.10/10.

From: shark attack Date: October 21, 2007 at 14:18
Super slick Journeyish AOR from Sweden which apart from the less than perfect production on some songs really hits the spot with nicely crafted songs and enough guitar to keep it from becoming to pop orientated.Standout tracks are numerous but my own faves would have to be `I`ve been waiting` and `Tears don't put out the fire` Highly recommended. 89/100

From: COBRA Date: December 23, 2007 at 11:56
10 out of 10 songs from very good to excellent. **Jaime Remember** they took a small page out of Asia/Wetton play book for this tune. **The Air That I Breathe** a very beautiful cover of this song. I would put it in the Journey realm, but they are not clones.

From: happy2849 Date: December 9, 2010 at 12:28
Most posters right. This is one great piece of melodic rock/AOR. Found this at a reasonably price years ago and still play it from time to time.

From: happy2849 Date: January 13, 2011 at 12:43
Agree with most comments. Some great melodic rock/AOR. Jim has a vocal style that is perfect for this type music. Looked for it for years and then walked into a used music store a few years ago. They had 4 copies at $2.99 each. Bought all 4 and used the extras as trade but will always keep one. One of my favorites!!!!

From: titothetitan Date: October 27, 2017 at 7:38
This is the international release of the debut album. It includes 8 of the 12 songs - 6 were remixed - and two new songs added, sang by new vocalist Pete Sandberg - to introduce him. One being 'The Air That I Breathe', a cover song of The Hollies, and 'Now Love', a re-recording of an early demo originally sang by Jim Jidhed.

From: titothetitan Date: November 17, 2020 at 20:22
They weren't huge bacause Jim quit the band so early and then they [the original line-up #2] dissolved in late 1989 before the second album could be completed. What happened later (Shiftin' Gear) is another story as bass player Ken Sandin stated in a interview: "We didn't know about Shiftin' Gear until it hit the stores. Something we were not happy about it. We thought it was going to be a Tony's solo album, not Alien!".
