In their homeland of Bulgaria, these guys have released at least 5 albums of which 'Something Wet' was their best selling. The lyrics are in English BTW. I have their 'A Flight From Heaven' which has Bulgarian lyrics, but it is one of the most awesome sounding CDs I've heard in quite a while. You have to listen closely to detect the lyrics are not in English. The singer's voice always reminded me of the lead singer for HELTER SKELTER in sound, not style.

From: Delbert Date: January 18, 2004 at 15:53
I would heartily recommend this CD for fans of uptempo melodic rock with keyboards, nice guitars and layered sound.

One little bit of trivia concerning this disc.....I bought a copy in Japan that came sealed with an OBI which is really cool. I am one of those fans of Jap CDs with OBI's....!!!!

From: TheRipper Date: January 18, 2004 at 19:30
Delbert, please look on your disc and inserts and see if it was indeed manufactured in Japan... I am very curious, as I was told that a good amount of these were sent to Japan and given OBIs to remarket, but were not really Japanese discs... It sure seems like a disc that wouldn't have gotten an exclusive Jap ress as well, what label does the OBI say?

From: Delbert Date: January 18, 2004 at 22:37
You're correct, although the CD came sealed with an OBI, it was actually manufactured in Bulgaria by Union Media. Still, the OBI is a bonus touch to the whole package!!! It blew me away when I got the CD because I wasn't expecting an Jap OBI.....

hey gener8tr There's one on Ebay now!

From: gener8tr Date: June 21, 2004 at 12:36
Ahhhh, I FINALLY tracked down a perfect mint copy of this disc! Let me start by saying track #1 is a full-on, straight-ahead 80's rocker... very much 1985(ish) with the wonderful addition of a saxaphone (of all instruments) and TONS of keys! The rest of the CD is a little bland, but this recording fits nicely in my collection.

Interesante esta banda búlgara, con estilo bien 80´s. Hacen un hard melódico bastante comercial con voz grave. Las mejores: DO YOU WANNA, LEAVE ME ALONE e IS THIS LOVE.

Cheers Delbert for this great cd. Good songs in a little bit harder scandirock style. Production is fairly good but their major weakness. He can't really sings in english. If you think some of the german singers have a big accent. Listen to this singer who has very big accent. It's kind of fun sometimes. But despite the singer I relly like this cd. The first song is just fantastic. Melodic rock of highest class

SURPRISE FROM BULGARIA ! GOOD MELODIC HARD ROCK ALBUM WITH GREAT KEYS THE SINGER HAS A TYPICAL EAST EUROPEAN VOICE ,BUT DISPITE HIS VOICE, THE SONGS ARE GOOD .IT REMAINS ME A BIT WILDRIDE ... 8/10

From: The Dolphin Date: December 27, 2005 at 6:26
A GREAT ALBUM FROM THIS RARE BAND SIMILAR TO THE HOLOGRAF CD,BUT WITH A BIG PRODUCTION AND MORE MELODIC SONGS.SINGER IS NOT THE BEST THAT I HEARD BUT THERE ARE EXCELLENT CHORUSES. 8,5/10

From: Bettencourt Date: May 12, 2006 at 6:16
Great CD from my country.. Catchy melodies and addictive choruses. The sound's balanced, the production is no so bad, the only minus is Evil's accent. I recommend it!

From: radoslav Date: November 21, 2006 at 4:22
This is great cd. Every song is super. The songs-Do You Wanna, Is This Love, Just Like Paradise, Mama, Pretty Woman are total classic. Konkurent is the best rock group in Bulgaria. Great guitars, catchy melodies, excelent choruses. Yavor Nedev/the best keyboard in Bulgaria/ made fantastic keys in this album. Konkurent are for fans of Whitesnake,Gotthard,Stage Dolls.I recommend it. "Escape from paradise" is also very good cd from Konkurent. In 2007 will be release new album on english language.

From: z4roxx Date: November 24, 2006 at 15:24

From: juan carlos Date: June 21, 2007 at 23:37
.., las rifferas "Pretty Woman" y "Just Like Paradise" igual de magníficas. "Looking For Love" "Is This Love" covers de Whitesnake? Nop la primera es una balada corta regularona y "Is This Love" que está mucho mejor y de mis favoritas del disco. Muy recomendable. 8.8/10

i just had the opportunity to catch live KONKURENT and i bought this rarity straight from the band !commercial hard rock music with nice approach ,ok songs and some good ideas!the guitars are pretty good but the vocals should have been better!overall is an enjoyable release for lovers of hard rock indies!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 26, 2012 at 22:07
Musically talking the band could be considered a good one but the issue for me is the vocalist...ummm...not my cup of tea at all, sorry guys..."Do You Wanna" is a nice catchy AOR starter and far one of the band's top songs for sure, then,we have these other goodies in the shape of "Ride On"(rocks!),"Leave Me Alone"(nice AOR),"Just Like Paradise"(rocks!),"Fallin' Angel" & "I Want Your Love"(nice acoustic song)...80/100
