No comments???? This is a great sraight-forward metal album!! Melodic hard rock/metal with an edge!!! Ron Keel has the best voice in metal!! If you love 80's metal, you'll love Keel's brand of metal!!! This rock's to the bone!!!!!!!!!

Was out jogging yesterday, stopped to get my breath in a used cd store and saw this `gem` Didnt have my wallet, no money. And the guy behind the counter wouldnt keep it for me. Damn damn damn. Ive been looking for it for years. Sometimes life sucks. Keen rockin`Dan and I just want to tell you, this site is awesome.

From: george Date: November 2, 2001 at 11:23
can u send me the lyrics from tears of fire-keel? georgepantelis@hotmail.com

From: Curious B Date: February 1, 2002 at 7:53
'Tears of Fire' is probably one of the best power ballads.

From: Tony Date: May 7, 2002 at 15:35
Hi I'm Gene Simmons. May I ruin your career for you??? Worst producer EVER in hard rock. Just obliterated Keel's & Black-N-Blue's career.

From: Desslar Date: May 8, 2002 at 14:19
Not much of interest. The fast songs mostly suck, but the slow numbers are all pretty good, including a great cover of Because the Night.

From: Poison Arrow Date: December 31, 2002 at 22:17
Interesting view on Gene $immons. He kinda fucked up EZO's first album as well. Those songs deserved way better treatment. Didn't he also shit on Doro Pesch? I love Kiss though.

From: jeff Date: May 20, 2003 at 20:21
If it weren't for Gene nobody would've heard of these guys. This album ranks up there with Black N Blue's Nasty Nasty and Rough Cutt's Wants You.

From: Scandinavia Date: June 6, 2003 at 11:10
The cover song 'Because the Night' really caught my attention and I must say eversince I've been a keelaholic! WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ROCK !!!

From: sgn Date: June 7, 2003 at 7:08
este disco me trae muchos recuerdos , un 10 por el sonido , un 10 por las canciones , un 10 por la tapa , un 10 por la interpretacion y un 10 por gene simmons.

From: razor2467 Date: June 23, 2003 at 11:28
Another great cd from the '80s!! I dont think they could ever top this one, very cool cover of 'Because the Night', also, 'Here Today, gone Tomorrow', Tears of Fire, and the Title track are pretty darn good. This one is a bit tough to find for a reasonable price though.

From: John Date: October 21, 2003 at 15:45
I just don't like this as much as the first. Something about the pacing of the songs turns me off. If you're going to title track your album and lead the record off with that song, try not to have it suck. 'Rock And Roll Animal' would have been a much better title/opener to me. I hate his tone during 'Because the Night'. That said, 'Just Another Girl' is a great hard rock song. 6.5/10.

From: Andreas The Kid Date: November 17, 2003 at 21:24
I was about to laugh when I heard the cover 'Because the Night', no fire in it at all...and the rest. Lets put it like this, the songtitles are as silly as the songs. Not even fun.

From: Rene Date: November 18, 2003 at 17:30
Strange that some of you dont like the cover song of BECAUSE THE NIGHT. I think they did a great job and its sound very cool in my opinion. KEEL FOREVER.

From: Agnar Date: November 24, 2003 at 18:51
i have the complete KEEL's collection, but this album KICKS like no other! A must have, absolutely! 10/10. I also suggest the first Iron Horse release with Ronnie Keel on vocals: a US-Rock masterpiece!

From: lance1 Date: December 14, 2003 at 0:30
great cd and awesome production.keel delivered the goods on this one.because the night and tears of fire are the best songs.this cd is hard to find now.very underrated group.gene simmons took this band under his wings and got them best new group of 1985 or86.

From: METAL MADNESS Date: December 29, 2003 at 8:17
I seen these guys at the 1986 TEXAS JAM, they blew me away like no one else that played the COTTON BOWL in DALLAS TX. They lit me up like I was in heaven waiting for them to take me to THE FINAL FRONTIER cranking it up on THE RIGHT TO ROCK, KEEL in my words, ROCKED LIKE NO OTHER WAY BACK WHEN I WAS SEVENTEEN GOIN' ON CRAZY.

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 5, 2004 at 17:55
I still have this one on vinyl...god damn, I'm old. This was a fun record, not as heavy as THE RIGHT TO ROCK but still a decent listen. I had a girlfriend in college who was obsessed with the ballad 'Tears Of Fire' and she made me play it so many friggin' times that to this day I still can't listen to that song... thanks for ruining a great track for me, woman!

Hey Freddy, you're not alone, I got my vinyl too... This is full of good solid hooks. No Pain, No Gain still kicks my ass...

From: Metal Pete Date: March 26, 2004 at 16:17
Tony's right. Gene killed Black n Blue and some other bands. He needs an ego check in the worst way. I love some KISS stuff but ole Gene needs to let artists be themselves, rather then imposing 'his' sound on them!

From: Oliver Date: July 29, 2004 at 12:27
Excellent. Simply excellent.

From: Propane Date: December 1, 2004 at 14:08
Straight ahead rock and roll, once again. This sort of venue is sorely missed.

From: Chad Date: December 26, 2004 at 0:23
What a great album! This is such a good Keel album. Ron belts it like nobody's business, Marc and Brian crank out the melodies and provide the crunch. 1986 was a great time for the metal and this album produces. I remember cranking this one on the way to the lake and drinking the beers. How cool is that? Pretty cool in my opinion. You can NEVER go wrong with a Ron Keel release, even the Iron Horse stuff stands up and I dispise country music. This entire album is worthy. Buy this one.

From: motleylover4lif Date: December 30, 2004 at 12:25
Hey gang---I have a Japan copy of The Final Frontier & a Japan copy of the S/T cd in my Ebay store right now. Feel free to check it out by looking up Motleylover4life. The name of my Ebay store is YouCanStillRockInAmerica. Take care & keep on rockin'!

From: Geoff Date: January 18, 2005 at 5:26
This is a great CD! I always loved Keel despite Ron having one of the worst voices in the genre. Killer hard rock songs, riffs and attitude. Loved 'em. This one is a fave as it combines magic hard rock with commercial bliss. 'Because the night' and 'Just another girl' are cool commercial rockers, 'Tears of fire' is a lovely ballad and 'Here today, gone tomorrow' is one of my fave Keel songs of all - killer ballad. Of the rest, it's all great heavy rock with an awesome hard rocking vibe.

From: Rich Date: January 30, 2005 at 16:17
"Tears of Fire" is one of the best ballads from the decade. Ron is still as great as ever!

From: SeducedByMetal Date: March 5, 2005 at 6:56
Tears Of Fire And Because The Night...Extremely Awesome Songs...Fantastic Hard Rock...

From: z4roxx Date: March 5, 2005 at 12:16
"Because the night"is a cover,can't be awesome,sorry mate!

From: Chad Date: March 26, 2005 at 21:54
z4roxx- just for conversation, why can't a cover be awesome?? I happen to like lots of covers WAY more than the originals. There is something to say about originality and being able to write a good song but some songs are just better when performed by others or have different arrangements.

From: z4roxx Date: March 27, 2005 at 12:32
Okay, you can consider a cover for its originality or how it has played but...it's a cover and not a track written/composed by the band(only re-arranged/played).If you consider the cover one of the best in this cd I think you don't like it so much(this is my personal point of view9.

From: Chad Date: March 27, 2005 at 14:03
I would have to agree with you that if a cover song is the best song on an album, the album is probably pretty weak. Personally I like the song Because the Night but it is by far NOT the best track on this album. Tears of Fire, the title cut and rock and roll animal are all better songs IMO. Cool. You certainly answered my question! Rock on Man!!

From: Rich Date: May 4, 2005 at 13:10
This is one of my absolute favorite albums, right along side back in action. Ron Keel is one of my all time favorite vocalists. I can listen to him sing all day long. And by the way, his country album is also as good as his metal albums. Check his country album out, Ronnie Lee Keel.

From: mauricio Date: December 27, 2005 at 16:38

From: mauricio Date: December 27, 2005 at 16:39

one of the greatest rock albums ever

From: hair metal again Date: April 19, 2010 at 6:12
very good release by KEEL in the mid 80s.this is less raw than the previous ones and it puts them to the right path that lead us to their fantastic next release.great songs here like "just another girl","tears of fire" and "rock n roll animal".i always wanted KEEL to be more commercial and i think that later on they achieved that.

From: rocksoul Date: May 28, 2010 at 10:27
My favourite album by keel. I see, keel as the symbol of '80s fro emtal...I know is more than it's in truth but I don't know.... Soon I'll buy their the last one, 2009-10 are huge of new productions of '80s bands.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 8, 2011 at 13:58
Anyone who professes to be an 80s metalhead but doesn't own this album should be slowly and excrutiatingly dragged over jagged, razor-edged rocks by a slow-moving tugboat. OK, maybe that's a bit too brutal for such a minor offense, but this album so perfectly encapsulates the signature 80s hard rock style that it seems shocking for any fan of the era not to like it. The music rocks with authority, flinging out one big commercial hook after another like candy on Halloween, crescendoing in huge chorus anthems sprinkled with delicious gang backing vocals. Ron Keel & company may not have exactly taken you to the final frontier, but for the hard rock frontier they were living in at the time, they certainly delivered the goods.

From: rocksoul Date: April 1, 2011 at 10:05
metalmaniac777 has captured exatly that I would told. I remeber when I was young Keel were the perfct band for hard rock '80s. I don't know why, but if I thought hard rock, I thought Keel-the final frontier. I know there were bands like iron maiden, whitesnake, alice cooper, winger....but they had and have today a special taste. here in italy is impossible find this one, but own label reissue right to rock at the same puted out streets od rock n roll.
