Best Keel's album!! It's a pity that vocals are recorded too loud, but it's full of catchy songs!Take 'Don't say you love me' and 'If love is a crime'.

From: jeff evans Date: November 24, 2001 at 18:09
great album!!!!! mr.keel's finest release.lots of good rock and roll.PLAY IT LOUD!!

From: Tony Date: May 7, 2002 at 15:33
The ULTIMATE hit & miss band. You hear 'Calm Before The Storm' and think these guys are just brilliant then you hear 'If Love Is A Crime' and just cringe in embarrasment at the juvenile songwriting. That's the way it is with every Keel album to me. You took the best 3 songs off every one of their cd's and made one album it would be the greatest hard rock album ever made!!!

From: Desslar Date: May 8, 2002 at 14:15
I agree that this is a very inconsistent band. Some great songs mixed in with a lot of amateur garbage. Ron's voice has always been just this side of laughable for me. Still, the first 7 tracks are fun if nothing terribly original.

From: koogles Date: June 30, 2002 at 19:02
Tony and Desslar are dead right! Keel are right up there with Pretty Maids and Mastedon in the love-em-one-minute, hate-em-the-next club. You gotta navigate these waters with more skill and precision than Jon Voight and Ned Beatty in 'Deliverance'. The winners in my book are 'Cherry Lane', 'I Said The Wrong Thing to the Right Girl' and 'Don't Say You Love Me'.

From: Desslar Date: July 1, 2002 at 16:33
Ha! Ha! Love the Ned Beatty reference.

From: Scandinavia Date: December 30, 2002 at 11:44
Their absolute best album!! A must-have...Searched for this album on CD for 5 years and finally got it! YEEAAAHH! Ron keel writes his lyrics somewhat in the same manner as Dee Snider...U know these rock'n'roll anthems...Typical american sound..Not too complex but straight-ahead melodic hard rock. IT ROX!! The production could've been better but their ambition and attitude do the trick...YOU'VE GOT IT...THE RIGHT TO ROCK!!! United nations under the flag of rock'n'roll!!!

From: Metal Maniac Date: March 31, 2003 at 22:28
This is my favorite KEEL record so far. The Right To Rock is awesome too. But this is my most favorite KEEL album. It's too bad that they're gone, there wiil never be other band like them.

From: Jayglam@hotmail Date: May 5, 2003 at 4:29
Best Keel album by far, every song is excellent. Ron has a very cool hard rock voice suited to the music with great solos by Marc Ferrari. The song I said the wrong thing to the right girl is one of the best hard rock songs ever written. Jay from Australia.

From: purrfect-kat Date: October 8, 2003 at 1:35
my lil humble opinion is this cd is their best one . . . I like 'Calm Before The Storm' but my favourite song they did was ' I Said The Wrong Thing To The Right Girl' . . . It don't get any catchier then that!!

From: John Date: October 21, 2003 at 15:49
'I Said The Wrong Thing...to the producer!'. Again another inconsistent Keel effort with 4 brilliant songs and 6 pieces of whale crap. How can a band do that? 7.5/10 based on 'I Said The Wrong Thing', 'Somebody's Waiting', 'Cherry Lane' and 'Don't Say You Love Me'. The rest of the album will result in you ruining your fast-forward button.

From: Scandinavia Date: October 21, 2003 at 16:48
'United Nations' is a brilliant track too!!!

From: 80sMetal1 Date: November 13, 2003 at 17:02
On this one, Keel shifted to more of a glammy type sound with very good results. In fact, every album by Keel rocks, except for Final Frontier, which I find to be dull and plodding. Highlights on this one include Somebody's Waiting, I Said the Wrong Thing to the Right Girl, Cherry Lane, It's a Jungle Out There, and the beautiful ballad Calm Before The Storm.

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 5, 2004 at 17:58
You guessed it... still have this one on vinyl too (and with a 'promotional copy' stamp no less!) This one continues Keel's voyage into less heavy metal and more hard rock pastures. 'Somebody's Waiting' was a great song, as was 'United Nations,' but '4th Of July' is quite possibly the dumbest song ever pressed to vinyl.

From: Josué Date: January 30, 2004 at 22:12
Best Keel album, period. The best tracks, in my opinion, are United Nations and Somebdody's Waiting. Hope to get it in CD, after a long time searching for it. Yep, I agree with most of you guys, band like this don't come out anymore. And, by the way, this is a truly underrated band! It really rocks and it didn't catch all that much attention. However, I believe they were something like 'Best New Metal Band' in 1984.

From: Scandinavia Date: January 31, 2004 at 9:17
You can get it on CD from 'www.hangloose-records.com'

From: James Date: February 14, 2004 at 13:46
for sure a hit and miss band. an ok album but still too many misses to make it enjoyable

From: Big Papa K Date: June 27, 2004 at 0:31
As others have said, this band is terribly inconsistent. One minute turning out solid pop metal tunes ('Somebody's Waiting' and 'Calm Before The Storm') with utter crap (the last two songs). 5/10

From: Great Dane Date: July 21, 2004 at 22:07
I've had this one for 3 years now, giving it many chances, but it will never never never be on my fave list. His voice is annoying. And they totally lack making good melodies.

From: Chad Date: July 23, 2004 at 0:48
Great Dane- It does not need to make your fave list as I am sure there are many bands in your repetoire. Ron's got a killer voice. And then can certainly make the chorus melodies on most tunes. This is rock and roll, it does not have to be perfect. Listen to the tunes for pure enjoyment sake. I think you will grow to enjoy them as a pure party album. That is what the 80's were all about. Don't Worry, Just Rock!

From: Venom Date: October 12, 2004 at 1:12
Keel!! nuff said

From: christo Date: November 21, 2004 at 8:01
its a shame that keels cd releases are inconsistent, you have some great tracks mixed with more mediocre tracks, The three best tracks on here I would say are, united nations" no its not a song about the corrupt and ineffective united nations that we know, but how we are united under the flag of rock 'n' roll" somebodys waiting, a catchy power ballad and calm before the storm a decent ballad a bit mushy but still a strong track.

From: Propane Date: December 1, 2004 at 14:10
Keel can do no wrong. Well that's not entirely true: Keel CAN do wrong by disbanding. This is a solid venture, also.

From: Geoff Date: January 18, 2005 at 5:30
This is my favourite Keel album of all. 'United Nations' is a monster hard rock opener in traditional Keel style, 'Somebody's Waiting' is a commercial anthem, 'Cherry Lane' is almost glammy and very cool, 'Calm Before the Storm' is a sensational ballad - I love this song! Huge backing vocals and all! 'I Said the Wrong Thing to the Right Girl' is decent but IMO, 'Don't Say You Love Me' is simply the best song they ever recorded and still blows me away today. Awesome album!!!

From: James Date: January 20, 2005 at 20:17
i think they could've made the guitars and drums more louder along w/ the vocals, and the songs seem outta tune on some parts, i dunno, maybe its just me, but this album does kick ass!!! i would kinda like to hear The Final Frontier!

From: SeducedByMetal Date: March 5, 2005 at 6:51
This Is My Absolute Favourite KEEL Album By Far...Every Track On This Baby Is Electrifying...They Done Everything To Perfection On This Album...I Can Comfortably Give A Rating Of 10 To This Masterpeice...The Best Thing I Ever Done Was Buy This...No Matter How Many Times U Listen To This Cd ...It Alwayz Grabs U Like U Have Just Played It For The 1st Time...THIS ALBUM ROXX!!!!!!

From: z4roxx Date: March 5, 2005 at 12:23
This time agreeded with you,it's also my fave!Great cd by Ron & Co.!!

From: razor Date: March 26, 2005 at 11:02
ugggghhhhhh.............just when you think that this band couldnt put out a worse album than The Right to Rock, they put out this piece of uninspired GARBAGE!!! Every bad mid-80s rock & metal cliche you can think of is on here, complete with Ron Keel's hysterical vocals!! This cd can easily rival Grim Reaper in the BAD cliche department!! They should have called it a day after the somewhat decent Final Frontier album.

From: Chad Date: March 26, 2005 at 21:49
Razor- While I agree that The Right to Rock had its miscomings...this album is a gem. Pure fun and great rock. The tunes Cherry Lane and Somebody's Waiting are awesome. Not sure how you could call this garbage. Give it another try. While the Final Frontier is my fave Keel album this one runs a close second. Fans of the 80's and early 90's revolution will dig up on this stuff! If you don't give it another chance you will be missing out for sure.

From: mauricio Date: December 27, 2005 at 16:44

From: mauricio Date: December 27, 2005 at 16:45
la balada CALM BEFORE THE STORM quizas no sea tan rompedora como (TEARS OF FIRE)pero es muy buena muy emotiva.la super cañera KING OF THE ROCK donde se ve a una banda muy arrolladora en este tema.ITS A JUNGLE OUT THERE otro de los mas hard rockeros y en donde JAIME ST JAMES metiendo coros y donde los mete en IF LOVE IS A CRIME.pero hay que mencionar 2 temas muy melodicos en la linea KEEL tales como I SAID THE WRONG THING TO THE RIGHT GIRL y DONT SAY YOU LOVE ME con esos limpios coros de fondo

From: mauricio Date: December 27, 2005 at 16:45

From: mauricio Date: December 27, 2005 at 16:45

From: themartin Date: July 21, 2006 at 19:08
Watered down Dokken sound-alike songs, some very uninspired, the previous albums are better than this I'd pick up "United Nations", "4th Of July· and "Somebody's Waiting".Aguante argentina! themartin88@hotmail.com

From: metalhead4life Date: August 22, 2006 at 22:44
Great CD if you like Melodic rockin' metal with big choruses. More good songs than bad. Entire CD is pretty good. My least faves are tracks 4 and 6. All the rest good especially tracks 1, 2, 5, and 8. 8/10

From: underworld king Date: January 5, 2009 at 3:28
My favorite Keel album. For some reason this cd stand out for me more than the other releases. I saw Keel live in 86 on the Final Frontier Tour with Black n Blue and Queensryche and from what I remember it was a good show. I do remember thinking that Queensryche was the better band that night.

From: hair metal again Date: March 28, 2010 at 11:11
amazing release by KEEL .what a year that was back in 87 eh?one gem after another.what we have here are 2 fantastic guitarists and a solid hard rock release with the well known raw vocs by ron.their songwriting at its best and especially "cherry lane","dont say you love me" ,"calm before the storm" and "isaid the wrong thing at the right girl".this is KEELs best release and a must have for everyone.

From: edwithmj Date: December 11, 2010 at 19:49
Miles better than The Right To Rock. This has monster vocals, melodies and guitars and the songs are written a million times better. This is definitely my favourite Keel album.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 8, 2011 at 14:36
Keel's masterpiece, their magnum opus, their crowning achievement...but be warned, this crown is not all diamonds, it contains its fair share of stinkers as well. Thankfully, the gems ("United Nations"/"If Love is a Crime") far outshine the garbage ("King of the Rock"/"Fourth of July").

From: the rocker Date: January 14, 2012 at 13:25
This is an awesome cd and of course my favorite from the band. They went a little more commercial on this one, compared to their first couple of cds. Somebody's Waiting, I Said The Wrong Thing To The Right Girl, & Don't Say You Love Me are a triple commercial hard rock attack that is hard to beat! Calm Before The Storm is a good ballad, Cherry Lane is a good rocker. I highly recommend!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 2, 2020 at 0:39
Cool album with some good shots in it such as tracks # 1,3(AORish),4(nice one),5,7(AORish),9 & 10...first record was into the heavy side of music but on the way of releases they got soften ...82/100
