Has anyone heard Keel's new band 'Ironhorse?'

From: Bret Date: January 12, 2003 at 0:58
Ron Keel is a talentless douche bag. He even tried his hand at country and western and failed. They did a remake of Rose Tattoo's Rock & Roll Outlaw and didn't do it any justice.

From: Hrudet Date: July 20, 2003 at 20:51
Oh dear, is it 1987 or something? Damn, I can't remember if this is newly recorded tunes or archive material, but whatever it is it is strong and it is classic Keel! It has been out a while, but if you haven't seen it yet here it is. can't see that it would appeal to anyone outside the bands fan base, but that's okay, because they are going to love it. The onslaught of the first four tracks hard rocking it like nothing has changed is enough to convince me. Long live Keel!

From: Scandinavia Date: July 21, 2003 at 5:01
To Hrudet: It's a blend of old tracks and new ones. A kind of reunion album just for the fun of it. Great album although they lost a lot of respect following this release. Production could've been better but generally the tracks are smokin'. Hold your head up high!!!

From: Underdog Date: August 22, 2003 at 14:00
I have the new Ironhorse cd. Ron Keel's vocals are much improved over some of this screeches he has done in the past. The cd has kind of a country-rock flavor to it. Not bad though. Definately better than Ron Keel's ill-fated attempt at becoming a country artist.

Right on, Bret. Where is Rose Tatoo on this site? I need some of their stuff on cd! Their version of 'rock n roll outlaw' kicks major azz!

From: Ratt74 Date: August 20, 2004 at 14:16
it should be called Kell 4 what???They have best material on the past.

From: jarett r. Date: August 29, 2004 at 14:50
'proud to be loud' was covered by pantera (pre-1990's)

From: Geoff Date: August 29, 2004 at 22:07
'Reason to rock' and 'Answers in your eyes' are two of my favourite Keel songs of all. Elsewhere you have some pretty standard Keel songs, but those two easily make this worthwhile for me. Still don't agree with Ron's voice, but the 2 songs stand on their own.

From: Brad Date: September 1, 2004 at 17:07
Keels new band, IronHorse has a new CD called 'Bring It On' ... and it ROCKS. It will be released nationally on Sept. 27th but I got my CD early at www.IronHorseBand.com I like his new material Rock with a slight country injection ... southern rock!!! I have almost worn my disc out!

alguien puede decirme como es este disco

From: rene Date: May 29, 2005 at 15:51
MAURICIO, es muy bueno. Very good come back album by KEEL. Its pure 80s hard rock like back in the good old KEEL days. BACK IN ACTION+REASON TO ROCK and UNITED NATIONS are the best. Also the old songs are great. A todos los fanaticos de KEEL, este es muy bueno. All KEEL FANATICS buy or die, its very good.

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 30, 2006 at 21:43
Does anybody remember the name of the band Ron Keel was in where it was him on vocals and an all-girl backing band? I used to have a track or two on tape but I can't find it and I can't remember the name of the band for the life of me. Thanks in advance...

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: January 31, 2006 at 14:01
Fat Freddy,I believe the name of the band was Fair Game...They weren't that great from what I remember, but they were very hot. I've be listening this release lately, and I don't think it's Keel's best...it sounds labored and tired to my metal ears!!!

It's Keel, no doubt about it. Love it or hate it but I think this is true to the Keel sound we all know and love... well, er, know at any rate. I loved Keel back in the day and there are some fine tracks on this. Doesn't quite measure up to the 80's Keel, but it aint bad at all. At least it isn't grunge...

From: Fat Freddy Date: October 26, 2006 at 11:56
Somehow I missed out on this one back in the day. Apparently this is an odds-and-ends release with some new stuff and some older material that Ron and the boys dusted off. Sounds pretty good to me, and it's nice to hear Keel tackle "Proud To Be Loud," which Marc Ferrari wrote for Pantera's POWER METAL album in the late '80s. Good stuff.

From: Hairbanger Date: December 3, 2009 at 17:18
Just like other Keel albuns, this album Kicks Ass!!! all of these unreleased songs must be really rock anthems. All of Keel songs are perfect! Waitin' for new record!

From: hair metal again Date: April 1, 2010 at 2:49
excellent heavy rock collection of songs by the great KEEL.its obvious that except the well known songs ,the "new" ones are older recordings.nice 80s sound ,screaming guitars and raw vocals by ron are the elements.the result is good and you must listen to the marvelous "answers in your eyes" and the anthemic "reason to rock".i m definitely a keelaholic

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 9, 2011 at 9:21
The year was 1998, but Keel was pretending it wa '88, dusting off some archival material, tossing in a new song or two, reworking some stalwart classics, and rocking out like hair metal's halcyon days never came to a halt. Production is a little less than wonderful, but not so bad that it becomes an ear-sore, and the music is straight up classic Keel with nary a hint of popular trend in sight: you get loud guitars, Ron's distinct (to be polite) singing, hooks big enough to catch a whale, and gang vocal-driven choruses. The song "Reach out and Rock Somebody" has seen more action in my stereo than all other Keel songs combined...awesome tune!!
