the live cd is great but the studio cd can be used as a coaster or rear view mirror decor.

This is another great Great White album!, All the songs on the album are solid. I wouldn't call it hard rock, hence it is an album full of ballads.

"Sail Away" is a good song, but the rest of the CD is rather bland. Not really a Great White CD, they went out on a limb here.

yeah, this album is like an unplugged recording, songs are good but too much ballads. the live cd is great, all over now smokes!

Getting very mellow here, but wonderful ballads like 'Cryin', 'Sail away' and the beautiful 'Gone with the wind' still make it worthwhile for me. The live tracks are awesome too. Pretty good release from an excellent band.

sail away to the dreamland and fall to sleeeeeeep. I have never heard such boring Great Whitesongs before. One of the weakest acusticalbums ever.

What a range Great White has!! What other bands have albums that go from blues based rock to in your face metal? This was a departure and while many of the songs are kind of mellow they still have great hooks. It would of been nice to have a couple killer cuts to balance it out. I attended the Celebrity Theatre show which is the second part of the disc. I like how they included some of they're lesser known tracks instead of the obvious hits. 7/10

Disc 1 is the livest sounding studio CD I've ever heard. Livin' In the USA is brilliant.

great release by GREAT WHITE back in 94 when there was a change in music industry and hard rock bands didnt get much attention.many ballads and semi acoustic songs in the wonderful great white style and quality and some acoustic rockers is what you get .my favs are "cryin" and "alone".the bonus cd contains live recordings from that era and it s pretty good

Semi-acoustic album where we can find the all basic elements of GW. Blues, southern rock, hard rock perhaps country during the grunge peak - I appreciate it. We are quite close to "Hooked" album but ,IMO, the atmosphere of "Sail Away" is sadder and the songs themselves are weaker. Anyway, Jack Russell's performance is excellent and mainly therefore I give 80/100.

Yep, not a terrible disc, but definitely not eht Great White of 1987. This is the wistful, mellow sound of a band seeing their run coming to an end. Kind of a late-night mild-melancholy record, ratheer than a total bummer.

IMHO this is just a lay back release,nothing to jump out of the bed of excitement,just a relaxed one...enjoyable while drinking some fine wine ...tracks 1,3,4,5 & 9 are nice softies/semi acoustic shots indeed...about the live disc...is a way to enrich the bland side(disc one)...75/100

I listened to this again over the weekend. Man! The only song that truly "rawks" is "Momma Don't Stop." "All Right" and "Livin' In The USA" somewhat uptempo, but are more like campfire toe-tappers. The lyrics range from sad to wistful to downright bitter in a few places. The part that stuck out for me is on "Alone," where Jack sings "I guess I realized I overstayed my day / I wonder as I write this down, how it's gonna sound when I get old." Pretty unflinching stuff for a band that just a few short years ago was extolling the merits of "Mistah Bone." But such was the world in 1994. You can't fault them for making the music that was in their hearts. They were getting older and maybe thinking about things besides the three People's. Not every Sunset Strip band would be able to pull off a record like this, so I give Great White credit.
