I agree this was the best album "Great White" ever produced, straight forward rock n, roll no glittz no glam pure bonified ear bleeding bliss!Their drive on this album was untaimed and as unbridled as an 18 year olds pelvic crush. This should be in every rocker, roller, stoned cold drinking mans collection!!!!

Never thought this was their best album. There are a couple of good songs on it, but the rest are pretty forgettable. Worth getting only if you are a big Great White fan.

From the fringes of the early 80's LA metal factory comes Great White, the loyal Judas Priest wannabe's with lixx galore. "Stick It" is in the metal scream hall-o-fame. To think, just 4 years later they would be offering watered down strip mall boogie for loads of cash. Pays more to "borrow" from Zepplin than Priest I guess. Jack Russel seems to be a mini-egomaniac, "Great White:Fearturing Jack Russell"? Jack, nobody cares who you are! Be thankful Kendall came back for the ride. Bum.

The sound on this album is a mix of Dokken inspired crunch riffery and Priest inspiried lush but dark song structures. That is where my Priest analogy came from. Remember, every band in LA sounded like this until Ratt and Crue made it cool to include pop hooks. They do a major style change for album #2, falling in love with covers, and fancying themselves as blues meets Dokken. To me anything mixed with Dokken should be taken with a grain of salt! KOOGLES, your comebacks are lame.

The first full length album by the band is not only their heaviest, but probably their most consisten album. More of a heavier Ratt style sound than their more bluesy hard rock that was made after. 7/10

This is an awesome riff spirited hard rock CD and still one of my fave Great White releases. 'Out Of The Night' is an awesome hard rocker to set the scene, followed later by the commercial hard rocker and one of my all-time faves, 'Bad Boys', 'On Your Knees' is awesome hard rock too, and 'Hold On' is a gem too - the most commercial and balladic track of the album... sort of. Very, very good hard rock CD!!!

Excellent back to basics stuff. At a time when the party, instead of the music, was king, Great White got rid of the glitz and wrote pure rock once again.

By far their HEAVIEST work, which I appreciate! The lyrics and sound of 'Stick It' are classic. And the rest of the album measures up, too.

Boy talk about a Great Debut album!!!Bought it when it came out...Yeah they went chasing the Greenbacks,They Changed the sound,but they are still a Great little party band...Thus we get one REALLY Heavy Release..Then the Blues set in..And that's ok by me..with em blues No Hard Rock,Metal,AOR,Etc.....Yes the Blues are every where!!!!!9/10

Learned about Great White in the 80s because of the video (when mtv actually PLAYED MUSIC!) "Face the Day" While that song is still one of my G.W. faves, this album is by far their BEST. Not over-produced, just straight ahead hard/heavy/blues rock. Too bad they peaked with their first! GET IT, you won't be disappointed.

This is the Great White I wish had stuck around instead of the watered down, cover playing version that became what they were known for. If I remember correctly they were opening for Judas Priest on this tour, at least out here on the East Coast, and that would have worked just fine for this album. Solid, heavy hitting, no nonsense, balls out rock 'n' roll. Not slighting later masterpieces like "Rock Me" or "Lady Red Light", etc. but they never put anything out with as much balls as this release

Blue Charvel has got it right...i agree totally,this is the direction this band should've continued in.Sadly,instead they morphed into a freaking Led Zep tribute band.

this is a pure masterpiece for me,it captures all the energy and the groove of the l.a. scene at its beginning.excellent raw hard rock ,guitar driven melodic lines,big choruses,screaming vocals is what you get here.amazing songwriting with "out of the night","stick it","bad boys","on your knees","streetkiller" and "hold on".they showed ftom their very start theat they gonna rule the scene.essential

Still my favorite GW release form pyromaniac Jack and Company.That said I will say that any version of this band without that guy singing is always going to be 'Fake White'.Still love 'Stick It'...great tune.
