The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Vandenberg CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Vandenberg are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

It's a shame some of his older releases are so hard to locate. This is a great best-of CD but I wish I could replace my tape copy of 'Heading For A Storm' on CD. 'Burnin Heart' is an overlooked radio-hit and I forgot about it until I heard about it on this CD.

Adrian.. I love you. Yes its true, he's so talented. Its too bad he never was able to capture success with Whitesnake, for he certainly had a knack for writing songs, as Vandenberg proves. This greatest hits is just packed with superb hard rock songs such as the gorgeous ballads "Burning Heart" and "Different Worlds" not to mention the all out rockers like "Fighting Against the World" and the delightfully quirky "Your Love is In Vain" 'say it again! nononono'...

All 3 Vandenberg albums have now been reissued on the Wounded Bird label, so should be easier to get hold of. Checkout www.woundedbird.com

A pretty good collection, but really all the albums are worth hearing, and there's only three of them,so I would recommend picking them all up

I agree that if anyone's a Vandy fan, they should look for the individual albums. ATCO stupidly left off some of the best Vandy tracks, like "Friday Night". Wounded Bird sells the Vandy albums cheap - I paid $10.49 for each of them a few years ago. By the way, there is a new 2-CD set out with live and demo versions available. Supposedly a DVD is coming, too, but I haven't seen it yet.

Hey John D or anyone else, how is the sound quality of the Wounded Bird re-issues? I've been considering getting the Vandenberg releases as well as the Loudness discs they offer but have been holding back due to not knowing how good the Wounded Bird discs are. "Burning Heart" was the only song I had heard before I got this and I think all the songs are great, especially "Fighting Against the World".

Hi Blue Tequuila-IMHO the Japanese imports sounds better than the wounded Bird reissues. I find the Wounded Bird reissues are hit and miss 9streets and Gamma reissues sounded great, Mothers finestm and nantucket sounded not alot different to the non-remastered versions) Japanses discs always sound superior to my ears-I suppose thats why we pay the extra for them. Hope this helps.

From: Blue Tequila Date: April 1, 2004 at 23:21
Thanks Rockhead-it does. Japanese imports seem to sound better to me also. I don't know why-they just do (and I guess they should for the extra cost). So do the Axe Killer albums out of France--WOW! Still the Wounded Bird releases are very affordable so I guess as long as the quality isn't any less than the original versions then that's a plus. Good to see a U.S. company reissuing oop albums. IMO with today's technology there should be no such thing as an out of print album!

Hey Blue-cant disagree with the price issue. The WB reissues are fine and dandy and well worth the $,£,whatever. I agree that all the classics should be reissued to avoid the incredible prices some of it is going for. Glad to see MTM classix is addressing the Scandinavian end.

Just a compilation with no unreleased tracks. It was good for the time, since the first three albums were only available on CD in Japan. But now, Wounded Bird Records reissued Vandenberg's three albums. On top of that, the new Vandenberg "Definitive Collection" (only released in Europe) has more-or-less made this old best-of obsolete.

Pretty good selection of songs. I'm not a huge fan, but it's fun enough. Where's Friday Night though?

get the individual albums or the new best of 2cd if you can. If not, this one will do fine. the songs are great, but hey, their Dutch, and anything from Holland is great!

Great stuff "Fighting against the World" is a metal anthem.
