Excellent return for HOL! Leaves the disappointment of 'Power and the myth' behind and it's great to hear them doing what they do best. There are some big ballsy riffs here, which I really dig, and some great mid-tempo/ballads we know and love. 'Mask of eternity' is a killer hard rock opener, 'All the pieces falling' is excellent melodic rock, 'Rock bottom' and 'SOS' are clear hard rocking highlights, and my favourite track, 'Ghost of time' is a gem. Overall, a great album. HOL fans will love it

From: sluss528 Date: April 24, 2006 at 15:32
you know this is just all right. nothing spectacular here just the same tired shit like the last disc. the people that think this is like demons down need to get off the dope because this is not nearly as good. this is a cd that you will listen to a few times and then it will be boring as hell and it will collect dust! 6/10

From: vandervelde Date: April 25, 2006 at 12:03
maybe this is best album in XXI century...why? because this how would sound Sahara if it would be MUCH BETTER( and we know Sahara is awesome)...this is not hit oriented Demons, but something like a concept album (musically)...every song stands on his own but all together they just blow away...Christian after dissapointing Power and Radioactive appearance finally sing like in the old days...great keys(finally 80s sounding!!)...All The Way, All The Pieces what an anthems!!...this is sure buy...

From: TIM (2) Date: April 28, 2006 at 9:59
I was one of those who didnt actually mind 'The Power...',but knowing they had this album in them actually makes that album more of a disappointment. Way too many highlights to mention, but 'Million Miles' edges WIG WAM'S 'Bygone Zone' for Track of 2006 IMO. The big bombastic sound is back, the hooks are bigger than ever & the more AOR approach to the choruses is very much to my tastes. So many killer tunes, but from Track 8 onwards this is utterly faultless. A very special album indeed. 9.5/10.

From: TIM (2) Date: April 28, 2006 at 10:01
P.S. Nice to see they named track 10 after me... Probably should say 'Ghost of Time'...

From: JarWi Date: May 2, 2006 at 11:10
After the disappointing P&M cd, I'm glad to see, or should I say hear, the guys back in business. Yes, this is the REAL House of Lords, since G. Giuffria is finally back in the fold. Without him the band was nothing but a shadow of itself. Good tunes with the guitar in the foreground and I can't get rid of the impression that somehow the keyboards, which used to be the trademark of HOL, got lost somewhere. I like this album anyway.

From: JarWi Date: May 4, 2006 at 5:46
Dammit, after so many years of learning English I should know by now that after the word 'band' the verb always comes in plural

From: swriter Date: May 7, 2006 at 15:02
wow, this must be James's best in a long time, powerful stuff, what a great song in Heaven, Million, and Pieces, great album, and with great stuff lately including Poley, Survivor, Wig, in the top 5 of the year, blows me away!!!!

From: swriter Date: May 13, 2006 at 12:24
again, I love this, but realized there r no members from the past, except for Greg producing and adding a few keys, so, I have to wonder if this should of been a solo disk or HOL's, anyway, I do love it!!!

From: spawn71 Date: May 15, 2006 at 7:38
No members from the past? Totally new line-up? Which is the problem? The only important thing, here, is the MUSIC, that is EXCELLENT! Anyway, this isn't the first revolution in the original (1988) line-up: just think about a fucking HOL masterpiece like Demons Down... In the line-up of that album there were only Christian and Giuffria as original members (like now)... but the result was (IS) stunning! Jeff Kent is a great guitarists and I don't care if Cordola isn't in the band anymore... For me

From: swriter Date: May 15, 2006 at 16:34
no problem, I love this, just my rantings!!!!! hahaha

Brilliant & without a doubt THE best Melodic Hard Rock album this year. The song quality metre is resolutely stuck firmly in the red on this one, with not even one remotely average track to be found anywhere. 'Ghost Of Time' is completely awesome from the gorgeous key/vocal intro down to it's monster chorus, 'Million Miles' is fabulous, 'Field Of Shattered Dreams' is a great acoustic led ballad, James Christian is awesome, production is quality - Hell, it's all fabulous so go and buy it pronto!!

From: the rocker Date: May 23, 2006 at 17:54
have to admit, the samples i heard got me ready for a GREAT cd . still a very good cd picking up after demons down , but not a great cd. these are the times , ghost of time , million miles are my favs. but the rest is good aswell.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 27, 2006 at 0:24
Of Course a very good Melodic Hard Rock/AOR album, para la gran mayoria tanto este como el de Wig Wam son los posibles albums del año personalmente tambien estan en mi lista, en fin este disco esta muy bueno y consta de grandes cortes como Ghost Of Time, S.O.S & Million Miles(los 3 mejores cortes 3 temas que tienen el 10 perfecto y que elevan el album) These Are The Times, All The Way To Heaven el resto esta Ok temas mas Rockeros otras baladas con ese sonido actual

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 27, 2006 at 0:31
un disco recomendado sin lugar a dudas y posible ganador del 2006 8.5/10

From: Erik Date: June 5, 2006 at 9:34
I like it. But am missing the keyboards. Great album still. My top 5 for now: Ted Poley - Collateral Damage, Newman - Heaven Knows, Fate - V, Wig Wam - Wig Wamania , House of Lords - WUD,. And thats not in random order

From: metalmaniac777 Date: June 14, 2006 at 21:21
Got this last week and it's been rocking my house ever since. Of course, it was pretty much impossible for the band to do any worse than 'Power & Myth,' but who knew they could come roaring back this good? Good lord, this is some sweet, sweet melodic hard rock. Bombastic is an oft-overused description in this musical genre, but it perfectly fits here. If you haven't picked this one up yet, you deserve to be bitch-slapped upside the noggin' by a hard-knuckled ex-boxer with ham-sized fists.

From: the rocker Date: June 15, 2006 at 18:24
after a few more weeks of this, the 3 songs i mentioned earlier plus all the way to heaven your eyes sos and rock bottom make this a GREAT CD.

From: prowler Date: June 20, 2006 at 12:17
average. nothing spectacular. songs are too calm but not 'magic'. not a sigle killer here. they didn't show off. buy or not - on your own resposibility. i don't recommend. i give 5 at the very most.

From: the game Date: July 17, 2006 at 20:04
This is an awesome return by House of Lords. This is one of my 10 best releases of 2006.This CD really rocks. There are a few boring ballad type fillers that are saved by the guitar heroics of master Jimi Bell(from the melodic metal band Vice and who taught Chris Impellitteri how to play guitar).Jimi is amazing and plays guitar all over this cd.This guy is very underrated IMO.Just listen to These Are the Times,All The Way To Heaven,Rock Bottom,Your Eyes and Ghost Of Time for starters.Rated 9/10.

From: cdnutt Date: August 20, 2006 at 21:17
This is not house of lords, Good or Bad, one member is not the band. Gregg Giuffria is only involved through consultation, Lanny Cordola is missed in this and has been missed since the self titled. THis is just another James Christian solo project. In aspect. Great singer. It's an insult to the loyal fan, calling it House of lords.

From: Mediaab Date: October 3, 2006 at 6:11
ONE COULD ARGUE THAT THIS IS PERHAPS JUST AS MUCH A JAMES CHRISTIAN SOLO PROJECT AS A HOUSE OF LORDS ALBUM, BUT WITHOUT FOCUSING ON THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY A REALLY GOOD ALBUM - A GREAT RETURN. I HOLD THIS CD UP THERE WITH THE OTHER TWO HOL MASTERPIECES, THE 1988 S/T DISC AND 1992'S DEMON'S DOWN, IN TERMS OF QUALITY AND SONGWRITING. WHEN SAHARA CAME OUT IN 1990, AND WHEN THE POWER & THE MYTH CAME OUT IN 2004, I WAS DISAPPOINTED. BUT NOW IN 2006 I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THIS KILLER CD! 9.5/10

From: Swazi Date: October 22, 2006 at 17:35
Awesome CD, no doubt about it !! I don't find any fillers, except maybe 'I'm Free'. Definitely one of the MHR highlights of 2006. A pity that their live performance does not meet this standard. Highly recommended !!

From: aorteto Date: November 2, 2006 at 12:09
Great songs - ALL THE WAY TO HEAVEN ( BEAUTIFUL ), FIELD OF SHATTERED DREAMS, ROCK BOTTOM, GHOST OF TIME, S.O.S. and YOUR EYES. I can compare this one with DEMON`S DAWN in term of compositions. Album of the year?, I don`t know, but pretty close.

From: Metalmusicman Date: December 9, 2006 at 18:49
A return to form has allowed the boys in HOL to put out one of the better AOR albums of the year. For me the standout track is 'Rock Bottom'. Something about the guitar groove in it just sucks me right in everytime. The closing track 'World Upside Down' is one of the best ballads of the year in my opinion. Other standout tracks are 'These Are The Times', 'S.O.S In America', 'Ghost Of Time', and 'All The Pieces Falling'. If you like HOL you will find something to like on this disc.

From: z4roxx Date: December 21, 2006 at 13:41
Wow!Masters are back with one of the greatest releases in the last years indeed.I think also that’s better than their first 2 cds’(not as”Demon’s down”).J.Christian’s voice is spectacular,G.Giuffria arrange in a great way keys even if there isn t lots of keys here.Every track is a killer with a surprising stunning production, this cd do not contains a single modern second, just another fantastic HOL capitol. Can t believe that I’ll see them in February in a small pub near my home,WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

From: LivingOnAPrayer Date: December 25, 2006 at 16:52
I'm going to be controversial and say that House of Lords' backbone is James Christian and Gregg Giuffria, so although it's a completely new HoL lineup, altogether it's not a bad album. Christian's voice is really unique, very deep and soulful and the songs on the album fit really well with his voice. It's a nice melodic album with a good mix of songs, and is probably one of the better HoL albums since 'Demons Down' or 'Sahara'.

From: roxas Date: January 1, 2007 at 4:30
As I sit here and polish of my final bottle of New Years champagne, I can't help but marvel at the hook of 'Million Miles' it truely is a keyboard driven wonder of joy. James Christian never sounded so good. The quality of this product is very high..but I just can't escape the 'Million Miles' hook no matter how I try...'and the why i'm feeling...it just won't fade away'. Sums it up perfectly. We sometimes take albums like this for granted...what a blessing it is to have this in our lives. Enjoy.

From: Axe-Machine Date: February 27, 2007 at 7:21
My second favourite House of Lords album after 'Sahara'. This album came with its fair share of controvery upon its release, but the quality of the music is undeniable. This album represents everything that 'The Power and The Myth' should have been. The second half of the album deserves special mention, with the likes of 'Ghost of Time', 'Million Miles' and 'SOS In America' being the album's stand out tracks. Absolutely classic! Highly Recommeded - 10/10.

From: the rocker Date: April 26, 2007 at 15:15
i saw hol at the newport R.I. show, and have to say it was great. small club and is very loud . but thats what it's all about. bang tango was good aswell.

From: darobinson Date: May 28, 2007 at 14:15
Way to many modern rock sounds on this disc. They got away from the classic sounds of the first 3 albums. 3/10 rating from me......

From: Nightrain Date: August 14, 2007 at 0:20
James Christian did the right thing by bringing back House of Lords' music to their melodic roots and recruit Jimi Bell, such an astonishing guitarist. We can hear a great powerful vocal with a wonderful harmonic singing in 'These Are The Times', a great combination of guitar-shredding and beautiful keyboard in 'All The Way To Heaven', heavy distorted rock in 'Rock Bottom', and a haunting mid-tempo rocking ballad, 'The Ghost of Time'. Overall to me, this is even better than the previous four alb

From: Nightrain Date: August 14, 2007 at 0:39
Overall to me, this is even better than the previous four albums, definitely one of the great 2006 release, highly recommended folks

From: AOR1 Date: August 17, 2007 at 9:25
Saw the HOL gig last september at the UFOR 2 and must admit that this was disappointing. Don´t mind cause I got this brilliant cd. Although not the original line up I´d call it the best HOL album ever. Brilliant from start to finish, not a single filler to be found. 95/100

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: August 17, 2007 at 17:18
I was too in the UFOR2 and i don't agree at all the HOUSE OF LORDS show was Unforgetable , by far the best of the day STAY HEAVY

From: lalorock Date: March 8, 2008 at 15:50
