Great production and arrangements add to talented musicianship to make this one a classic. The harmonies are wonderful. "Mother's Eyes" is melodic metal at it's finest. Damn fine recording from one of America's best melodic hard rock acts ever. You gotta hear this one!

Nice to see this cd on here because it is really the best one they ever did do and I love it so much. They are a good band and never did do a bad cd.

"World Is A Gutter" and "Mothers Eyes" are two awesome songs that really make statements. Who says hard rockers don't write deep lyrics? U2 and Bob Geldoff fans should listen to this CD-it makes a lot of statements. "Mothers Eyes" is one of the best anti-racist songs ever. The whole CD is fantastic.

I'm with ya on this one. Their best CD, great from top to bottom. How come nobody mentions "Baby Loves You", a great love song! Played it at a friend's wedding reception, and everyone (everyone under about 35) loved it!

The band that dared to be different and, yet, got accused of ripping-off The Beatles and Cheap Trick. It's a strange world!! One of the most original and ballsy rock albums of the 90's. Listen to the lyrics on In Crowd to find out just how free-thinking this band were/are.

es un gran cd, muy glam, muy ritmico muy rocanrolero, y sobre todo se demuestra una vez mas la influencia de Lennon en la banda-

By far one of the best melodic albums of all thime that no one has heard. It's a shame that this never got played more on the radio. The Way Home/Coming Home is one of my altime favorite songs. You can't go wrong having this CD in your collection.

Some nice harmonies make for a few strong ballads, but otherwise it's a bit boring. Could've used some more rockers.

Open it up, Great Dane! This cd is excellent. Easily one of their best. This was the first cd I bought by them and I got hooked. Is it just me or does "Something For Free" sound like it could be a Lenny Kravitz song?

When I first listened to this record I was blown away by the wonderful melodies and the great arrangements. This is truly a very talented band, and this record is _really_ good. Songs like "Missing You", "World is a Gutter" or "Mother's Eyes" are probably some of hard rock's finest pieces ever. Good lyrics too. Definitely a must have.

My favorite album of these guys and I really believe had this been their debut they would have been HUGE!! Their "image" was stuck in the casual music fans head after the first disc which probably prevented gems like this one from being checked out based on just the music. Gorgeous melodies and everything from the rockers to the ballads is done with the coviction of a band comfortable with who it is. "Something For Free" is just the greatest "f#@k you" song to any girl who's jilted you!!!

never thought they'd be able to make a better album than their debut, but they did it. In a scale from 1 to 10, "Strength" deserves 9'5. Donnie & Chip are the perfect tandem for melodic hard rock in a similar way to Lennon & McCartney for the Pop. Grrrrreat disc!

This is one of my favourite bands. They never disappointed me though some albums are not masterpieces. This one has it all for sure. Singer has incredible style. Can match with glam fans as well as pop ones or open minded hard rock fans. And these guys are honest, they never encountered big success but they still stand proud, inspired and willing to go on the road of good music.

This is the best album of 1991 and one of the top five albums of the 90's! SO overlooked!!!!!! Another case of people judging a group because of their clothes early in their career. Christ, Robert Plant and Paul McCartney looked silly in the 80's, too...but we didn't hold a grudge. Please, give this amazing group of songwriters a chance if you haven't already!!!

my all time favorite album. Been listening to this ever since I bought it more than 10 years ago. This album has everything - great ballads, fast rockers and exceptional songs, like the title track, where EZN bring in Johnny Frigo to play a violin solo. This is a timeless record based in hard Rock but its so varied. Chip and Donnie penned their best songs on this one and Donnie sounds amazing. Frigo glows on guitar as well

My favorite band! Great record full of melodic oriented rock. You can't live your life on Earth without listen to their music, your life won't be complete! Donnie Vie and Chip Z'nuff are great composers, they really know what it takes to write a good tune. That's the kind of band you'll always be whistling one of their songs! Listen to Missing You, In Crowd, The World is a Gutter and Blue Island and then we'll talk! Do you know what I mean?

This album is every bit as good as their first one. Very sleazy. The first line on the cd says it all. "You broke my heart when you broke my face". Classic stuff man, classic. Crazy that these guys aren't thought of as one of the great glam bands.

Out of an impressive number of quality CDs from this band this one blows them all away and then some. Why the big labels never gave any push for this band is one of life's unsolved mysterys. With a little promotion this band would have been huge and maybe we would have saved ourselves from the sludge of the 90's. The only CD I will ever give a 10/10 too. A classic and a masterpiece

Brilliant band, brilliant release. Though very influenced, they managed sounding fresh and very personal. Beautiful special voice, incredibly gifted to write songs you can sing alone easily but not in the bad acception of the term. 9 out of 10 of the people I shared their releases to just loved them but they never had and never will be big sellers. And who is so sure that big success is such a good thing from artistical point of view, often success ruins everything. No need to give examples...

IMO this is probably as good as the debut, and certainly contains some of the band's best songs. 'In crowd' is great hard rock, 'The world is a gutter' is the best song these guys ever did - an absolute killer hard rocker, 'Baby loves you' is almost as good and is again splendid melodic hard rock. 'Mother's eyes' is a nice ballad too. A few more fillers, but still some amazing songs.

En global diría que es un album muy regular, se necesita sus bastantes escuchas para agarrar el ritmo. Particularmente la voz no me agrada y de temas pues pienso que hay mas rellenos que temas buenos. "The World is a Gutter" "Mother´s Eyes" "Baby Loves You" (mi favorita). Las acústicas "Goodbye" y "Time to Let You Go" a lo Beatles, nada mal pero fuera de contexto IMO. La 4,11 y 12 raspando me gustan. La voz no me agrada, salva la producción y algunos buenos solos. 7.5/10

While the debut was excellent, it was "Strength" that showed the world that this band was a force not seen before. The sound that they produced simply had not been done like they were doing it and it was simply superb on this disc. 95/100

Where did this come from? After a good, glam debut, Enuff Z'Nuff came out with this; an amazing hard rock album. There's hardly a trace of glam here, other than the vocals, which still work really well and fit the songs. Lots of great tunes, the standouts being 'The World is a Gutter', 'Baby Loves You' and 'Blue Island', all of which are 10/10. Beats the debut hands down, one of my favourites.

This was the first album of theirs I ever heard & in my eyes they've never bettered it. I remember seeing the "Mothers eyes" video on TV around 1992 & went straight out to buy the cd. Donnie Vie's rasping Lennon like vocals (where have they gone lately)gave the songs an extra edge there is not one filler in the 14 tracks. "Strength", "The world is a gutter", "In crowd", "Missing yo" & "The way home/Coming home" are personal highlights. One of my all time favourite albums.

This was my first EZN album I ever bought, and from memory it was because I saw the video to their latest single (at the time) Mothers eyes on TV. I was not disappointed. I will quite happily say for me this is without a doubt the strongest (no pun intended) album they ever released. I did pick up the debut after enjoying this one, but beyond a few tracks it never really stood up as strong as this one for me. With 14 tracks this one is longer than most albums, but never really outstays its welcome like some longer albums do. Every track on here is great, with obvious standouts and no filler at all. Donnie's vocals are instantly recognisable when you hear them, and backs up his own lyrics with strong emotion in his delivery. Chip always provided a strong groove and great backing vocals. Derek was such an underrated guitarist. Flamboyant yet not overkilling it. And Vikki was the prettiest man behind a drum kit ha ha. Will never tire of this one for sure.

On the heels of "CC's" latest comment, while I got into EZN with their debut, this is the album that really stuck with me. Every song is great. Original lineup was phenomenal, and Vie, one of my all time favorite vocalists.
