Never heard the full album, but "Green Grass and High Tides" is an excellent, excellent song by any standards. Any rock/metal/southern rock/hard rock/whatever fan should check out that song, let alone anyone who is interested in great guitar work. A classic that will live forever :-) |

Where's the earlier stuff?! These guys were awesome and I didn't even care for southern fried rock. |

I agree w/Propane! Their early albums are a guitar picker's dream! Early on, they were very grass-roots, almost country-fried, but definitely rock-n-roll. If I had the time/knowledge, I'd post at least the 1st 4 albums myself & give them top ratings! Hughie Thomasson has been named by the Fender corp. as a "Living Legend", telling you what a great guitarist he is! Great stuff! |

I'm sad that this doesn't include "Holiday" from their Hurry Sundown album. I've loved that song since I was 5 and my mom had an 8 track cassette tape of The Outlaws' Greatest Hits. |

Just bought the album "Soldiers of Fortune". Some great and smooth AOR/southern Rock numbers here. "One last ride", "Soldiers of Fortune" and "Cold Harbor". |
