| Joe Lyn Turner is one of my favorite singers. Ronnie James Dio might have bigger lungs but J.L.Turner sounds more streetwise than the more whimsical Dio. I can also identify with the lyrics of Joe

| In 1981 Blackmore came back with his particular Spotlight Kid: Joe Lynn Turner (I love both of them!) This album is plenty of classics: I Surrender, Spotlight Kid, the beautiful Magic, the rockandroller of Canīt Happen Here and Beethovenīs Ninth (much better the live version of Finyl Vinyl).

| the best rainbow lp by far! great songs and playing by all. midtown tunnel vision is a amazing song and blackmore was at the top of his game in 81' a must have!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Otra gran obra del maestro Blackmore, que sin embargo tiene canciones como Midtown tunnel vision y Freedom fighter que no me acaban de convencer. Por cierto, la mala influencia de Candice Night ha hecho que Ritchie perpetre otro disco folkie. Lo siento profundamente.

| This is great Rainbow album (like they all are). Ritchies guitarsound is just so good and original. Keyboards on Spotlight Kid are hilarious!

| Unforgettable, memorable, pretty beautiful, there are really no words to describe this album!Joe Lynn Turner just canīt beat Dio īcuz itīs ask too much, even cause they have different styles.But even so, I loved this work!

| I have been a fan of Joe Lynn Turner, but I do tend to think that his voice limits what a band can do. In this case Rainbow shift into commercial hard rock here and most of it fails. While opening track "I Surrender" is a catchy aor tune, it just does not feel like Rainbow, as the keyboards start to overtake the guitar. 5/10

| Excellent debut from Joe Lynn Turner. I Surrender & Spotlight Kid are Rainbow classics. No Release, Midtown Tunnel Vision, and Can't Happen Here are also great tunes that will get into, great album for when you're on the road. Beethoven's Ninth is also catchy. All in all, a classic.

| Most definitely I bought this one also. Joe doesn't have the range Dio has, but a bit more than Bonnet. Nevertheless, this was an excellent album with no flaws. Everything Rainbow put out was awesome.

| Pickind up where the band left off with DTE. A little more commercial but still a great album. IMHO Rainbow has never made a bad album. Different vocalist and different styles but each has it's own merits. Here JLT proves he can play with the big boys.

Good album for sure with Joe giving his powerful vocal skills to the top of it and with a Purpleish sound  ...tracks # 1(hit single),2,3,4 & 6 are the ones for me...enjoyable stuff...80/100
