Just Love It, such a BEUTIFULL voice You have Aldo!

From: Jez Parry Date: July 28, 2001 at 0:06
One of the AOR cd's of the year. Great songs and playing, mostly all by Aldo himself. His next cd Subject was even better.

Excellent hard rock CD. Straight ahead melodic rock which is definitly before its time. "Fantasy" and "Ball And Chain" are the standout tracks on an awesome disc. Recommended.

A fabulous album from a fabulous artist! All the songs are strong. It has indeed became an AOR classic! I sure wish he was still putting albums out ( Aldo if you might be reading this, get in the recording studio again, we miss you!!! ) A MUST have for melodic hard rock/AOR fans!

From: freddy de keyze Date: January 7, 2003 at 11:01

"Heart to Heart" was one of my first air guitar solos. Quite ass-kicking indeed.

From: James Date: May 11, 2003 at 1:02
as stated above, what a voice, what a guitar player and way ahead of it's time. everyone need's this cd and his Blood On The Bricks cd. At the time this came out Aldo was kicking everyone's butt. This went on to sell over a million copies when first released, which in 1982 meant a bit more than it does today.

From: MelodicMan Date: May 20, 2003 at 10:59
I have alot of teenage memories about this record. Fantastic AOR. And a agree with Jez Parry, Subject was even better. Aldo is known today for his work with Celine Dion.

From: perfectstranger Date: June 16, 2003 at 8:13
all i can say is jon bon jovi owes aldo nova some major money for stealing his sound and riffs. this is classic aor rock at it's best! a must have.

From: racer x Date: November 22, 2003 at 16:01
this guy cant sing whatsoever and he sounds like shit. it sold a million copies back then and for why? the guitarist isnt too bad but he needs more work on his voice though hes done in his career now but ya know he looks like don dokken in his album cover huh?

Great debut ! His best ? The two following discs are also great, but then it was over for our dear friend.

From: Undivided02 Date: January 16, 2004 at 11:02
I definately agree with James ^there , way ahead of his time,he should not hang it up.....Alot of music is left in those hands

From: holyroller Date: January 20, 2004 at 23:04
A forgotten classic. Heck, a forgotten artist nowadays. One of the cool things about this album is that Aldo played most of the instruments and multi-tracked it himself, but you'd never know it to listen. Sounds like a complete band. "Fantasy" is such an awesome song, I can't ever tire of it. Too bad younger people only see the video and remember it that way. Dumb video.

From: ROB GARCIA Date: January 24, 2004 at 11:09

Hey out there.....I've followed Aldo since 1981.he's still one of the greatest guitar players around. I've got photos of his first shows in frisco years ago. Rock on......!

From: Buddy Walker Date: June 10, 2004 at 11:17
Yep, memories for this disk are great! Our band, '2nd Time Around' used to play, "Under The Gun".. It wasn't a main play for the radio stations at all like Fantasy was at that time.. But the girls liked it, and it was really fun to play. :O)

From: holyroller Date: July 13, 2004 at 9:37
by the way, those interested in what Aldo's doing now should check out the recent interview with him on www.classicrockrevisited.com

I wore many versions of this album out. Could be due to it being early on in my rock days and I was limited on my catalog, but I love this one! 9/10

From: John Date: December 1, 2004 at 10:52
Maybe the best AOR album of all times!Every track is great!A monument!

From: Propane Date: December 3, 2004 at 0:01
Amazing axe wielder, Aldo was on this one. Great tunes. Definitely buy this now.

From: Geoff Date: January 3, 2005 at 23:42
I personally really disliked this CD as it appeared to be as soft as the tissue in which I issue the contents of my nose into, and none of the songs except 'Foolin' yourself' did anything for me. I'm not really into AOR this old so I sold it quickly. Not my scene at all, but judging by the other comments it might be a winner for AOR fans.

being a rock musician in the early 80's music was changing, and hard rock aor was coming in, this one is one of the first and the best along with 707, Foreignor, Shooting Star, the best Aldo to have, from Fantasy(what a great tune and never gets old) to See the Light, strong release!!!

From: masmusic Date: April 11, 2005 at 10:41
A real classic! Top notch production. A must have for any CD collection.

From: rene Date: May 31, 2005 at 14:33
This is a fucking great album. Increible good hard rock songs like FANTASY(cool video clip too), HOT LOVE or HEART TO HEART(my fave song on this album). The guitars sound realy great and the melodies of the songs are increible. This album could have been released perfectly in 1984 or 85. Pure melodic hard rock the way we all love it.

From: juan carlos Date: September 14, 2005 at 22:35

Very good debut. Wish he would release another new one.

From: Remastered Reason Date: January 12, 2006 at 13:10
What can you say about the first track? Absolutely killer. If your fantasy is to find a better 80's song than this, then you are truly dreaming! As for the rest of the cd, it is a classic.

If an album was ever in need of a good remastering job, then this is one of them. This new remastered version sounds fantastic and breathes new life into this 'Classic' album, + for Aldo completists, an alternate version of 'Foolin' Yourself' as a bonus track. A well loved album by the majority here it seems and quite rightly so. 'Subject' is also in the pipeline for the full Rock Candy treatment this year aswell, so big smilies all round.

Super-Recomendado! 9.3/10

From: hair metal again Date: May 25, 2009 at 2:42
what an impressive debut from the canadian rocker!just listen to"ball and chain" and "can't stop loving you".what a feeling!and imagine that at the same time the iron maidens were still running to the hills!ha,ha,ha

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 22, 2009 at 11:59
This is the kind of album that you enjoy from start to finish!!!.."Fantasy" is a song that immediately puts you in a good mood "Hot Love" followed the same formula of the starter and then 2 settle down a bit comes that emotive and one of the most beautiful ballads i've heard, noneother than "Ball And Chain","Under The Gun" is another blast and "Can't Stop Loving You" could be easily compare 2 Ball And Chain in emotiveness...then the last song "See The Light" makes you wanna aks for more as the album closes how it started...with good mood!!!.Undoubtebly a hell of a debut from the multi-talented Aldo!.95/100

From: RClap Date: August 16, 2012 at 16:19
This is a masterpiece. The best Aldo Nova album. A must have for any AOR lover. 100/100

From: edwithmj Date: April 4, 2016 at 19:43
This is right up there with some of the best AOR on this site. It's hard to pick a favourite from all the great tracks on this one but catchy Hot Love and the sensational See The Light are songs to which I just keep coming back and back. If you're looking for sleaze or glam, forget it; if you're looking for heavy metal, forget it; but if you're looking for great vocals, wonderful shredding fused with melodic riffs, keyboards and pounding rhythms, then by all means, you won't be disappointed.

From: 123charpenay Date: April 14, 2016 at 13:29
only three songs find grace at my eyes."fantasy" a smash hit wich reminds me my youth, cause in the start of eighties french radios plays this super song many many times."heart to heart" the best song of the album ,a top class song."under the gun",

From: 123charpenay Date: April 14, 2016 at 13:31
sorry ,"under the gun" a very great song.the other songs sound dated and amateur.nevertheless i can say that aldo nova is an excellent guitarist.
