| Definately not as strong as the latest releases from the band, having Killing the dragon (especially) and Magica in mind! A small dissapointment in my books, only "Shivers" and "Living a lie" delivers the stuff Dio -style

| Well this was a bit of a letdown for me.It was/is hard to follow up Killing the Dragon which IMO is one of his best. Then we have the guitar issue,Doug or Craig?!? I personally think Doug has a much better Style..IMO He is the thing that kicked some much needed life into the last Release!!Craig is also a Great Guitar Player,but..well I just prefer the Brilliant Doug Aldrich.The songs here just have that..Snap..Hooks seemed to be Gone.I waited for this to come out and now..well I don't like it mu

| I agree witht he above. It's a bit of a let down. Other than "Living The Lie" and "One More For The Road", it just plods along at the same drawn out speed: slow to mid-tempo. Just not what is expected from Dio.

| Letdown? This is a GREAT CD!!! Slow, brooding, doomy, Black-Sabbath inspired heavy metal! Album lead-off track "One More For the Road" is one of the more upbeat tracks. This song is typical of Dio, with is heavy riffs, haunting vocals and Craig Goldy's shredding leads. I must confess that unlike previous Dio efforts, this one is a grower. While the doomier feel threw me for a loop with the first listen, I found myself listening over and over again and enjoying it more and more with each listen.

| I agree with Scott ! The little man doesn't release bad albums. It's always CLASS ! This one is not his best, but still better than 95% of the current competition !

| haven't heard the album, but when I saw them last summer, they played The Eyes. It sounded very good to me! But maybe that's because sound pretty cool live anyway...

| Is it just me, or does the guitar mix seem buried under the vocals? I'm a big fan of Craig Goldy and I was really disappointed that the guitars weren't more prominent.

| While i could see how this album might be kind of a letdown to some after "Killing The Dragon",it still is pretty d*mn good.It definitely takes a few spins to really get into.Nice observation above-The guitar mix does tend to sound a bit buried on this one,as opposed to KTD which was guitar-driven and seemed to have Aldrich's solid playing up front.Not the masterpiece KTD was but quality none the less.Also gives RJD an excuse to tour,which is always a good thing .

| I agree with Metal T on this one. Not quite as good as KILLING THE DRAGON but definitely not a bad album. I was happy to see C. Goldy back in the fold and his playing (like Dio's voice) has not suffered through the ages. "Living The Lie" and "In Dreams" are just killer tunes, very indicative of Dio's style. And even though it's not quite as effective as the DRAGON record, it is certainly recommended to fans of Dio's old-school efforts.

| This album kicks off with "One More For the Road," which is one of Dio's best-ever songs... unfortunately, all the songs that follow it absolutely pale in comparison. It's a decent CD but not quite up to the high standards of "Magica" or "Killing The Dragon." Get those two first before picking this one up

| Killing the Dragon was much better. I liked Doug Aldrich's guitar playing on that one. Doesn't seem like Dio tried as hard on this one.

| Are you guys listening to the same CD?! This is his best effort since Dream Evil. 'In Dreams', 'The Eyes', 'End of the World', 'Death By Love' all classic Ronnie. Get your ears checked. 9/10.

| I saw them live and they introduced a new song: The Eyes. I was inmediatley blown away and thought: I'm going to buy the new cd as soon as it's released. So I did and I like it. It is useless to compare it to Dio's first 4 cd's (We all like them so much more,,,¿?) The discussion about this one seems to be who we like most Craig Goldy or Doug...no problem for me because I like both of them.
