| Aldrich is just excellent on this. This cd is worth the price for "Scream" alone. Thank god there are still guitar riffs like the one on that song still out there. Y'know this is Dio so what do you really expect here?? If you dig the guy it's good solid metal if you never dug him this won't change your mind. It's sometimes easy to dis this guy but he would be missed SORELY if he weren't around.

| Well, I don't think it's the best since Holy Diver, but certainly the best since Sacred Heart or Dream Evil. Aldrich is very impressive.

| I've seen more mixed reviews on this than I would have expected, an excellent return to his mid-80's sound with great guitar work courtesy of Doug Aldrich - I don't see how anyone could be disappointed with a CD this good...

| I agree with those posting here. This is an great return to the 80's metal sound. Doug Aldridge is the best Dio guitarist since Vivian Campbell. There are even hints of Rainbow influence found here. Buy this one !!!!

| By far the best since his early days. Cold Feet - great track - actually great DISC since Holy, Last and Sacred. Nice to see Dio return to fine form.

| This is indeed a good Dio CD, not a classic one. But for all lovers of classic hardrock, this is good stuff. Not as good as Hughes/Turner in the same genre, but good enough. And to everyone, look out for Rondinelli on MTM, this will also be brilliant classic heavy/hard rock. Look out for it.

| i had to give 10 to this album but the rating is still below 8 and that´s a shame. Aldrich is in top form in this and i just can´t wait who will be the guitarist when DIO´s next one will come.

| Me gusta un poco mas el Magica. Este me parece que se pierde un poco en el super tecnicismo de Aldrich. Muy bien tocado, empieza muy bien pero luego uno espera mas. Muy buen sonido.

| This is one hell of a record! Everything you'd expect from this exceptional musician is present.Great songwriting and arrangements,incredible vocals,heavy virtuoso guitars etc.Ronnie has a great eye for talent,adding Doug Aldrich to his band.'Killing the Dragon' might even be Dio's best disc.It is definitely that good ! Note:If you ever get a chance to see Ronnie James Dio live-please do you won't be sorry .

| Well its about time. Dio finally back to the basics. This disc is pretty damn good. Good production, and good musicians,make for a worthy piece of work. I recommend this disc highly. The songs rock,and its great to say "DIO IS BACK!!!"

| When I heard this album I hadn't been paying much attention to Dio for quite a few years. It blew me away and since I heard it I've since replaced all my "old" Dio cassettes & vinyl with new CD copies and even filled in the releases I'd missed. A killer comeback! Ronnie is still THE MAN!

| Wow...I will have to pick it up on your recommendations. I haven't bought any Dio for a long time. I gave him a listen a few years back ('Strange Machines'?) and didn't like it. I'll pick this one up though, sounds like a good return! Thanks

| Probably the best Dio album since Dream Evil. Most of the 90's stuff and even Magica had some songs that really just dragged along and overstayed their welcome. There is a lot more energy on this disk. Some solid playing from Doug Aldrich and Ronnie sounds better than he has in years.

| If you like Dio you'll like this. I agree with everyone that say it's his best since Dream Evil. This could almost pick up where that album left off. Thanks RJD for returning to the sound we want to hear!!!

| I'm still divided on "Magica" it's got some good stuff on there but there's something lacking about the record as a whole- "Killing" however, kicks ass from the start and never lets up- the solos rule in the classic Dio tradition. Long live RJD!

| I agree with Red on this one, the best Dio album since "Dream Evil". Doug "Hired Gun" Aldrich does another great job of guitar playing and Dio sounds more energized than he has in years. 7/10

| Doug Aldrich is the star here.. This picking technique is fluid and strong.He also Gets a Great sound...But it wouldn't matter if there weren't any good songs..This has both!!!

| I heard Dio was back to their 80's sound with this one. Well, I admit I haven't get this one yet, but I hope when I do I get impressed. I wasn't impressed at all for the previous cd's. and I didn't buy anything from Dio after "Angry Machines" came out (which it IS their WORST) except for the 'best of' cd that I got just for the old songs. Well, if it's true, I'll give this one a listen and if I like it, I'll buy it.

| WHOA NELLY!!! This one stomped on me for so long it buried me six feet under while popping my head off! Doug is absolutely amazing. Dio was a genious for swooping this shredder up. What a great disc! From Killing the dragon all the way through Cold feet, never a dull instant.

| Definitely a return to form for Ronnie James Dio. Doug Aldrich's presence added much-needed fuel to Dio's fire. The album starts off strong w/ the title-track and never lets up. Stand-out tracks for me were "Along Comes A Spider," "Push," and "Guilty." I saw Dio on this tour opening for the Scorpions & Deep Purple. As much as I love those 2 bands, Dio blew them off the stage. If you like Dio's 80s stuff, this one is sure to please.

| Si el "Magica" me encantó como album conceptual y sus buenísimos temas pues este "Killing The Dragon" me recuerda horrores a su fenomenal "Dream Evil" y es tambien muy bueno. Los riffs son estupendos y la Voz del DIOs está mejor que nunca (como puede seguir cantando asi, vaya genio, la clase nunca muere!). Doug Aldrich es un hacha de los buenos sin duda que valga. "Better in the Dark" entra fácilmente en el "Dream Evil", temazo!. Producción 10 puntos y las letras muy positivas. Muy bueno. 8.7/10

| You guys must be high. This is very mediocre. Ok, the guitarr playing is great, but it takes more than that to make great songs.

Well if rating this release deems one 'high' count me in completely off the planet  cause Killing is certainly the creative peak of later day DIO. While I remain as passionate for Magica as ever (it being hugely underrated, comparisons be damned, Magica needs be viewed as the 'concept' intended), Killing The Dragon saw DIO well and truly back on form. The title track and AlongCameASpider are a one two punch, leaving no doubt the man had finally managed to slay the sludgy midpaced heavy releases of previous years (unfortunately only to return with the next release 'Moon). Elsewhere Guilty indeed reduces the speed but darn cool regardless, ThrowAwayTheChildren a feature in both lyrical content & delivery, while not the the heady heights of the old classics here it works a treat, BeforeTheFall & ColdFeet saved by a ton of melody but record highlight has to be the wonderful Push, a true modern DIO classic worth the record price alone! Nothing new but a real return to quality! Rating 8

This is not the greatest Dio album IMHO...quite a decent one but just that..."Better In The Dark" is my fave in here...some other fine moments are tracks 2,3,6 & 9...70/100
