Aug. 20, 2025: Temporary Message Board ClosureThe company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. The current message board will be closed down at some point this Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.
The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Dio CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Dio are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Without a doubt, Dio's strongest album. Craig Goldy does probably the best work of his career. The songs are both heavy & melodic. |

...we're naked in the rain... Dio kicks asses. |
From: Metalhead | Date: March 30, 2002 at 10:04 |
I absolutely agree with ctmetal, this is DIO's strongest album. Even without Vivian Campbell, the band still rocks! But I believe that he's a better player than Craig Goldy. |

I like the album cover, and the guitar work is really good and speedy, but I wasnt a huge fan of the album. |

In the days of its release, I had quite impressed by the cover and sound of this record. Years after, it doesn't come so much interesting. But to be honest it is already a classic. "Dream Evil", "All The Fools Sailed Away" and "Overlove" are my favourites. (guitar intro of "Overlove" really rocks!). I agree that Dio's best album. The drummer is very good. A chance to have a nostalgy of those "Metal Top" days. |

I hated this album when it came out. Goes to show how dumb I was in 1987. This is the sh!t. Too bad he never touches any of this stuff live anymore. |

Este disco completa junto con Holy Diver y The Last In Line el mejor material que Dio ha hecho como solista. SUPER BUENO!! |

Buen disco pero a mi modo de ver la producción adolece un tanto de la calidad de trabajos anteriores ,Ronnie James Dio canta como siempre ..un fuera de serie |

Good thing Craig Goldy was brought in. He gives Dio the shot in the arm he needed after the slightly dissapointing "Sacred Heart". "I Could Have Been A Dreamer" is the best pop song Dio has done since "Rainbow In The Dark" and "All The Fools Sailed Away" is his best epic track since "Holy Diver". 9/10 |

Il mio disco preferito di tutti i tempi! Craig Goldie...ovvero la criniera più incredibile della storia del Rock!!!! "Night People", "Sunset Superman", "Naked In The Rain", ma sopratutto "All The Fools Sailed Away"...le più belle canzoni di tutti i tempi! DIO ROCKS!!!!!!!!! |

My last favorite DIO album. Not that they are bad, but is just that I think they couldn't make music as this one again (only in my opinion). The best tracks from this one are: Dream Evil, All The Fools Sailed Away, and my favorite slow song (and I'm not a slow song lover!) I Could Have Been A Dreamer. |

Vivian who? This was my introduction to Craig Goldy. See ya, Viv! Better axe wielding than its' predecessors, awesome work. |
From: Fat Freddy | Date: January 23, 2006 at 5:50 |
My favorite of Ronnie's '80s albums. Every track simply smokes. Craig Goldy is THE MAN! I still see the video for "All The Fools Sailed Away" on VH1 Classic every so often and smile when I see Playboy Playmate/porn star Teri Weigel as the water sprite or whatever the hell she's supposed to be... ![]() |

Another good album but the previous ones are all better. Ronnie's voice is still the strongest element but the songwriting is not on par with the first tho Dio albums. Sure there are still several good moments. |
