AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!! This Tracy G. guy sucksssssss!!!!! This is even worse than the other CD that he ruined for Dio! The only time he sounded good was on the WW3 debut CD and I am starting to believe that someone else did the guitars on that CD. There is no way I am buying into the idea that this guy could do anything worth listening to. Dio is great! Mandy Lion rules! Tracy G. sucks ass!

From: Mark Date: October 11, 2001 at 15:38
Good band but the guitars suck!

From: WADELINK CANADA Date: November 9, 2001 at 19:14
I HAVE TO AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE -THIS WAS A BAD DIO ALBUM THE BAND IS HOT BUT !!!!#%$#$%

From: Mike D. Date: January 3, 2002 at 18:53
thank God for making Rommie see that he needed to get a real guitarplayer! Without Mandy Lion babysitting this moron, he cannot come up with a good lick to save his life!

From: Logan-Five Date: March 17, 2002 at 11:54
I don't know what Dio was thinking with this guitar player. Craig Goldie was a great guitar player and I really don't know why he didn't keep a hold on Rowen Robertson. Without good guitar players, Dio puts out dark, non-melodic, evil crap. His latest Majica is a return to a more Sacred Heart kind of sound, much better music than Strange Highways and Angry Machines. I love Dio, but his songwriting is starting to slip badly.

From: Molly Date: March 27, 2002 at 3:35
I agree with Logan here..... Bit I think that it is not Dio that has slipped but rather that no one, not even Dio, could polish a turd named Tracy G.

From: Splash Date: May 7, 2002 at 14:59
First things first! Ronnie is the creative sould behind this album not Tracy G. If you don't like what Dio did don't blame the hired gun. All the cool classic metal artists have tried to jump on bandwagons and sound hip. This is yet another mis-step. I don't care much for the music here but I don't blame anyone but Ronnie. Also Strange Highways was about as much a Black Sabbath as anything Dio has recorded solo. Give Tracy is a awsome! It is a shame to hear a bad recording like this....

From: Rull Date: May 11, 2002 at 22:27
well i see too much bad talking on this albun and i agree with you guys, but the albun has 2-3 songs no more than that and they are really good

From: Dio rules Date: June 2, 2002 at 10:21
Hey splash (alias Tracy G.) You are the first and last guy that thinks that this guy is any good. I saw him with Dio and he couldn't even play the solos that the others before him wrote! Tracy G. got lucky when Mandy Lion gave him a break and weaseled his way into Dio after he had played with Jimmy and Vinnie for a few years in WWIII. That is the only way he ever got the gig. He had auditioned for Dio 2 times before with no success.

From: oldyett Date: June 18, 2002 at 23:39
maybe it's time to sit down, ronnie, this just sucks like nothing else (with the exception of those elf things). sorry, i remember the days when you were king---

From: danos Date: October 10, 2002 at 12:15
I deffinetely disagree with you, oldyett, his elf stuff was great and I seriously doubt if you've even heard one elf song!Wonderworld on 'Tryng to burn the sun' is still some of his work. You're right about Tracy G, he tried to do something different on the CD and ruined it.

From: Emilio Date: April 17, 2003 at 14:53

From: John Date: July 30, 2003 at 15:16
It's still a Dio cd to me. Sounding way more like Sabbath instead of a teenager playing Dungeons & Dragons. His vocals are dead on and the guitar isn't that bad, just different. I like the darker Dio.

From: keebler Date: October 8, 2003 at 0:07
this i don't listen as much it's alright but not his best.

From: Metal T Date: October 21, 2003 at 20:21
Say what you will about Tracy G,but this cat definitely has some seriously cool tone going on.I saw him live with Dio and he was "on fire" !

From: byrdman69 Date: October 23, 2003 at 12:42
This effort is completely weak! A bunch of grinding noise, completely void of the melodic sound DIO is famous for. I do understand changing with the times, but to steer away from the sound that worked for many years.....was , well a tragedy. 3 out of 10 at best!!

From: Metal Pete Date: January 21, 2004 at 18:36
Unfortunately, this is the one I chose to listen and see how ole' Dio had been doing over the years. Mistake! This was terrible, I wrote him off again (After Strange Hwys didn't hold my interest either). Now I understand it was the guitarist that was so weak, and DIO has made more good music since. Good to know! Will get the latest one now. :-)

From: carlos Date: February 11, 2004 at 19:27
Dio rules and Trazy G. drooles. Great vocals, shitty guitars! Nuff said.

Got a shitload better when Doug Aldrich took over the axe responsibilities!!!!! IMHO!

From: red Date: March 8, 2004 at 21:25
I normally love Dio and this is not a bad album, but it is very dull at times. It just drags, but it's not heavy enough to be cool.

From: Propane Date: December 2, 2004 at 17:31
This one is even worse than the last. I rate this one a Don't buy.

From: juan carlos Date: September 14, 2005 at 23:49

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 22, 2006 at 15:51
Ehhh... I guess "Institutional Man" is OK but the rest of this album... ZZZZZZZZZ

From: shoemaker Date: February 1, 2008 at 9:55
This sucks, only "this is your life" saved the day.

From: elljam Date: December 30, 2011 at 5:04
Agree with nearly everything said before me. Ronnie has written some decent tunes in his life but none of them are on this album apart from maybe "This is your life" which seems like a masterpiece compared to the other tracks on on this record but just another song on most others. Everyone seems to be blaming the guitarist, who I admit is not my cup of tea but he's not the one who said to Ronnie "make sure you write songs with no melody". Not worth buying

From: blackkblade5 Date: May 31, 2014 at 16:29
not so good has strange highways, but still a pretty good album,i mean those people trashing the album and tracy g wich by the way is a super mad amazing player i recommend them buying something crappy back from 1995 like blind melon, reef, smashing pumpkins or some shitty grunge sound album and just leave alone true metal bands with stupid comments

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 18, 2018 at 22:39
A kinda dull album...sorry...buuuuut still has some fine moments such as cuts # 2,3,7,8,9 & 10 (nice).Anyway Dio we forgive you whatever master.65/100
