Finally issued on cd for the first time .Classic late 70's Pomp ala Styx, Roadmaster, Trillion etc. The debut is the slightly more pompy of the 2 and contains the classic title track and the brilliant 'Put On The Show'. The second disc is slightly more commercial with hints of Boston and the mighty Airborne in places but with equally good songs 'Circus' and 'Gods And Kings' being good examples. A great remastering job on both, aswell as excellent packaging, make these reissues essential. |

Canada's answer to the mighty Styx at their peak ! And a great answer it is ! This is, as Jez, mentioned, great pomp rock ! There are some brilliant tracks here 'Put On The Show', ' Circus' etc. Exciting stuff indeed. And what a great job ESCAPE did with these albums. Great sound quality !!! If you like pure pomp, you can't do without this one ! BUY ! And if you want to know more, go to the excellent Glory Daze website, where you find a lot more about great acts of the seventies, eighties !! |

Had the albums (all 3) for over a decade, been waiting for this moment in time, here it is! The first two Zon re-issued in a gorgeous digipak! Yes it's just like Styx! Yes it's even better at times (if you ask me anyway) and Yes this is a must have for all AOR/pomp fans! If you can handle vinyl at all, check out their third album "I'm Worried About The Boys". Not sure if this one will ever see a cd re-issue, it's almost as good! Three cheers to Escape though for re-issuing these 2 classics! |

Lots of keyboards, and galloping guitars, resembling a cross between Queen and Styx, and doing a great job too. |

This release made an old pomp rocker very happy. had all three on vinyl for eons and was so pleased to see this one released. Classic pomp a la STYX, TRILLION, STARCASTLE etc So over the top you have to chuckle at some of the lyrics, would never get away with them these days. Read put on a show and you will see what I mean. Thanks Escape. Now release the awesome Howl in the Sky by Biscaya please, would make my century. Mark UK |

I really agree with Mark UK ! And me, I want finally a packet of the mighty pomp act Roadmaster, with their masterpiece 'Sweet Music' included ! C'mon Escape ! Roadmaster were the pompmasters ! |
From: Rockhead | Date: June 17, 2004 at 7:50 |
Hey Freaky-Sweet Music and Fortress are readily available on ebay in CD format. I purchased them recently to replace worn out Vinyl. My other favourite is Hey World which I also have on Cd. Live plus 5 is also worth checking out. |

Hi Rockhead : can't believe these are legal releases from Roadmaster ! Aren't they bootlegs ? ! I think there is still not one Roadmaster album officially and legally released on CD ! Correct me if I'm wrong ! And a remastered version, certainly not ! Hope to hear from you, Rockhead, because for me Roadmaster are pompmasters, and I really do like Hey World too ! |
From: Rockhead | Date: June 18, 2004 at 4:19 |
I think they probably are bootlegs-but the sound quality is surprisingly good. They are released through Japan Rock Reissue. I believe the debut is still to be released. |

Thanks Rockhead, I appreciate it ! |

Hi AOR Freaky and Rockhead, yes the Roadmaster cd's Fortress and Sweet Music are bootlegs, I also have those Japan Rock Reissue discs. Great albums from one of the greatest AOR / pomp bands ever. Also, thanks for the great comments about the Glory Daze website - I'm one of the writers there, including a review of Fortress, one of my top 5 albums ever. Fans of Zon and Roadmaster should check out Hobbit as well, incredible stuff ! Cheers, this is a great site ! Good to see AOR is going strong. |

Jeez! I love this band. All their albums are worth getting although by I'm Worried about the Boys the pomp edge had all but gone (still a good AOR album though). Astral Projector is the best though Back Down to Earth is fantastic especially Circus and Gods and Kings. I originally had Projector on black vinyl but when in Canada picked up a copy on blue vinyl. Now the CD has come out so that's another copy!! I've also spent too many nights in the pub arguing it's merits with my mate who hates it! |

Love Zon ... Saw them a number of times in Toronto, great stage show. Even in small clubs or schools, they put on a great show. Kinda like genesis meets queen .. Great stuff. I couldn't wait to buy this package. I hope they release the last album and maybe tour? |

Hello gang, I ran across this page while trying to search for some ventige Roadmaster. I am disabled and grew up here in Indiana with Roadmaster. I have spent the past cpl yrs trying to find cd's of Hey World, Fortress and Live+5. The do simply ROCK. I've not had any luck on any Auction sites either, and my spinal injury has me spending lots of $$ on my medicines. I would love to hear from any Roadmaster fans. I would really appreciate it. It'd lift me up Please put in subject: Roadmaster if |

Oops, got cut off there, email me if you want at : thunderborg@joink.com P.S The bass player "Toby Myers" used to also play for John Mellencamp for along time. Just thought I'd put that in there as he is here in Indiana as well. Again, I would appreciate it if anyone could help me locate these. Even tracks if possible. Thanx again. Awesome website... Big Cheers to: RockHead !!! Dave G. |

Good to see both albums out on CD at last. A great Pomp Rock band with a taste for theatrics (hence the Queen comparisons I suppose..) Escape have done a great job with the packaging and remastering etc. A must for any pomp rock fan's collection. |
