THE GREATEST GLAM ALBUM in a long, long time. Pure 1988 sleaze metal that perfectly recalls Motley Crue, Poison, Warrant, Black N Blue and Britny Fox all chopped on a mirror and snorted at once! I seriously had no idea that it was possible to make music like this in the year 2003! If you loved classic glam and aren't of a sensitive disposition (the lyrics are quite intense), then this is the album for you! I think they've been watched The Metal Years maybe a little too often...

Just got this cd yesterday. It is hilarious. Who doesn't love a song called Big Boobs? Like Mike said, the lyrics are quite x-rated. But if you're a fan a 'hair bands' (god I hate that term), you must pick this up now. Probably won't see this at your local Best Buy, so go to www.metal-sludge.com to get your copy. Put this cd in, buy yourself a 6 pack and laugh your ass off.

this is incredible. I was feeling grumpy about the success of mock rock pretenders, The Darkness, and then I heard this slice of comedy metal genius. There is hope! it's like all my favourite 80s bands mixed together with an incredible sense of humour ( a dirty one too, which is better). I've never heard filthy lyrics sound so convincing. It's even better than Spinal Tap. I can't say too many good things about this! Get it!!

I don't know if these are any good but there web site is truley lame! I live in Hollywood and everyone seems to think that these dudes are god's. I don't know aout you guy's but it would be nice to have something cooler happen in LA than a spinal tap group!

Really good funny, entertaining parody of hair metal a la 'Spinal Tap'. If you were a fan of hair metal but laughed at the ridiculous trappings that went with it then you'll get a kick out of this. Beware though as I've seen some reviews on websites leave the wrong impression this is a 'legit' hair metal album. While the musicianship is great this is a comedy parody and well worth it for the laughs but is not a serious musical project. The booklet is hilarious reading too!!!

Just downloaded this one. And all I can say is: this rulzz! Though most lyrics are as if taken from a cheap porn flick, this gives the guys a slight touch of parody. I'd describe them as a perfect mixture of Bad News (btw it's a heavy sin that they aren't listed on this site!) and early Britny Fox. All in all: great hardrock with a voice like Dizzy Dean Davidson/Tom Keifer.

JarWi, you are correct about Bad News--talk about a funny metal band! I have the cd and the video, both are funnier than Spinal Tap, and I love Tap. I will dig out the cd and get it listed here soon. I will also have to check out this Metal Shop band! 'Ahhhhh-ahhhhh-ahhhhh-I'm on my Masturbike!' (Bad News)

The music itself is fabulous. Dirty lyrics, piss taking stories and gross out sexual descriptions are all the order of the day, delivered in a high-quality 80's rock fest that pays tribute to bands of the day like Poison, Def Leppard and Motley Crue.

What? There must be a mistake in here. Was this album really released in 2003?! Yes, it's hard to believe, but it's true. This band takes you back to the golden days of Glam/Hair metal. And, for some reason, this band doesn't really sound as a tribute to the 80's band or something. They can be old-fashioned and new at same time. Hard to explain, try this band.

Formerly known as Danger Kitty ? I remember the commerical. I thought Danger Kitty was a made up name or they were making fun of Black n blue. Is this Danger Kitty name a spoof ?...sounds like it to me. Somebody give me a factoid on this ?!

It is Ralph from the Atomic Punks and various other projects. It lists Michael Diamond (Ralph Saenz) on vocals, Rikki Ratchet, Ginger Roxx and Blackhead as the musician on my one track cd. The track is Love Rocket from the commercial. Really just a collector's item is why I bought it. 1 song, 2 minutes and 49 seconds worth of 80's bliss. I think it was even put out by Discover Card.

I submitted the Danger Kitty CD a few weeks back, along with the new Quireboys and those two other Dogs D'Amour albums... they got inputted, Danger Kitty wasn't... guess it won't be, probably cos it's basically a single. Shame.

This album is hilarious! You will literally laugh your nuts off to this one! What a Tribute (???) to the 80's! Not only is it a comedy gem, the music is pretty good too. Very listenable, just make sure the kiddies are out of the room or in bed for the night. They could not have put out a censored copy of this one. It would have been one long Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep....Find this one if only for a good laugh. Actually many good laughs!

This album is tits! If you're not PC, you should find the lyrics funny as hell. And the music? Hell, it's great! Tell me the song "Fat Girl (Thar She Blows)" isn't the most pure 80's bliss you've heard since the 80's! My only regret is they haven't put out another album. Their work on the Metal Sludge disc was super. The Cleveland Roxx track on the Metal Skool release works. But another album is needed! Supposedly a movie's in the works too. That'd be great! The DVD was killer funny.

Quite possibly the best album cover since Poison`s debut!!!! This is hair metal with extra extra cheese. Imagine Warrant and Poison jamming at a porno shoot and this would be the result.... XXX rated 80`s glam. Without doubt the best Glam/Hair metal release in the last 15 years. Now if only the original glam/hair bands still sounded like this....roll on the METAL SKOOL Movie....

Fucking bad! Why u want to fucking laugh to PoisoN n other glam bands ´couse they never take ém self seriously? Glam is having fun, drinking booze, wearing make-up more than whore, sleeping with every girl etc. n everybody knows that, so i wonder why u wanna make songs, which really aren´t good or funny? I listen this record once i had few laughs, but eventually i was so bored before the record hit the end. I will ask how many times can u laugh to same jokes?

From: Doghouse Reilly |

I agree to an extent, GlamSlam. The jokes are pretty dumb and stop being funny after not too very long. At the same time, I have to disagree, in that the bands Metal Shop/Steel Panther are parodying DID take themselves too seriously, often with no reason to do so.

Who knew when I bought this back around 2004 or so that they would still be going all these years later and end up going from that unknown band that only the select few knew, to a band bigger than a lot of modern rock bands that end up doing world tours in arenas and featuring on the cover of all the major rock magazines. Hell, I even bought the reissue of this under the name Metal Skool where they swapped out the last track for a cover of Cleveland rocks. (both those version of the album are worth a pretty penny now). Hell, if you were really on the ball, there was even a DVD released at one point which is probably worth a bit too. What a great release.
