Fantastic album. If this was released in 98 it would have been a top 40 hit

When a band has been dormant for many decades (in releasing albums) their comeback/return can be successful or a disaster...especially with the quality of songs on the album. In this case, Heaven's Edge proves if you want to do it right - then it better be real good. This album could have stacked with 12+ tracks risking a bunch of fillers - not here. IMO, out of the 10 tracks here, I would say 9 are really great - 1 average. Not a fan of track 10. They are maintaing a similar identity of straight-up guitar driven melodic metal rock with plenty AOR groove and guitar solos worthy noting, and yet still proving the band has matured and grown over the last 3 decades. Quality album. 89/100.

The Sweating to the 80's (just add leg warmers) album art gets my vote for worst cover so far in 2023. @Trixx was 1998 the post-grunge resurgence era for hair bands? This second tier Philly band has basically been one and done since their debut in 1990,if you don't include left over demos of " Some other place, some other time" (1998). "Skin to Skin" and the more radio friendly "Find another way" from their debut got some limited air play back in the day. Even with 3/4 the original lineup and 25 years you would think that the band could have made an album with a little more punch. I like "gone, gone gone" but after repeated listens this lighter weight album just doesn't stick with me.
