Dan, why the hell do we get stuff like this................Why not bands like Judas Priest, and Malice. They fit in more than this good looking lady.

...simply because songs like "Make Me Happy", "Song Instead of a Kiss" or "Our World Our Times" belongs more to Dan's site spirit than, say, the whole JP back catalogue !

How can I not like a cd with a horse on the cover? There is no denying that Grammy winning Myles is a talent although her musical style as a whole crosses genres(rock,country,funk,pop). 'Our World/Our Times' was not released as a single in the USA for political reasons. I could easily imagine hearing 'Tumbleweed' on country radio stations playlist and 'Song instead of a kiss' has classical inspired elements. IMO her S/T release has enough of a rock/AOR edge to be listed here but not her following albums. SHOEMAKER - THE HH world is feverishly waiting for your Shania Twain and Cher review next.

I guess my ears were expecting something truly breathtaking with "Song Instead of A Kiss"...but I couldn't even finish the song, but if it sold big for her domestic and international then good for her! "Our World Our Times" is good, probably couldn't find a spot in the rock radio scene in 92 as grunge, and electronica were killing rock stations.

Super class female melodic rock record.beautiful voice miss myles!!!excellent production ,clear and strong.album varied no fillers only killers pleasure guaranted.unfortunately no bonus tracks on the japan import.

I agree with 123charpenay this is a beautiful record with good production. I regard the quality of this album at least as the previous one is. I also agree with Son of Stallion about the mixture of styles here, perhaps I would hear a pinch of blues, too. Anyway, the "colourful" album with a sharp singing, if you like Heart or Sass Jordan you shouldn't miss "Rockinghorse". 80/100.

Great second work from Alannah Myles! The first 3 songs are excellent, backingg vocals from Mark Free, sadly it came on in 1992, with the grunge movement taken the world by assault, this artist and this record never got the support in radio. Itá a shame, this collection deserves more luck. El regreso de Alannah Myles después de su impactante debut que demuestra claramente lo que es estar en el lugar y momento correctos contra estar en los equivocados. Ambos discos gozan de calidad y buenas canciones, pero el momento es distinto y de ahí la diferencia, el primero tal vez sea un poco máscomercial o pegadizo pero la esencia es básicamente la misma. A disfrutarlo en grande quienes tuvimos la fortuna de comprarlo desde el mismo momento en que salió a la luz. Una gran cantante que poco a poco perdió fuerza y se desvaneció en lo que fué el mundo de la música en los años 90.
