| OK, I've picked up quite a few CDs after reading glowing reviews here at HH(Pyn Siren,Steelhouse Lane,etc..)and now I'm going to hope that others will listen to and agree with me on this one.If you are a fan of Queensryche,Dokken, or the Scorpions,don't walk,RUN,and pick this one up.Gary Grant's vocals are superb,and are very similar to Geoff Tates,while Orth's guitar work brings George Lynch & R. "Let it Rain" and "If You Said Goodbye" plus a soundclip of "The Savior" to hear for yourselves how good these guys are. One of my favorite releases of 2003,right along with Pyn Siren,and the Darkness.Go get it!

| This band is highly overhyped and the Scorpions/Dokken comparisons being made here as well as by other critics are misleading, because while this band is melodic, they mix in elements of prog-rock to their sound. Queensryche is a fair comparison, since the singer does sound like Geoff Tate, but anyone expecting a straight-forward melodic metal album will more disappointed than a nymphomaniac at eunuch convention. Not terrible, but hardly worth raving about...

| Well, Whiplash, no offense, but just because a majority of people say something is true doesn't automatically make it so. Heck, a decade or so ago, the majority of the world thought grunge-metal was good stuff, but we here at Heavy Harmonies know how wrong they were, right? Anyway, you are correct in that folks should listen to WYCKED SYNN themselves and decide. Me, I still don't hear any Scorpions or Dokken, but hey, that's just my two cents' worth...

| While I love these guys-they are def. more in the power/prog genre. Early Queensryche all the way. Personally I'm not a huge Scorpions fan so thankfully i don't see that influence at all. I'm kind of suprised Dan let these guys on here since he turned down a request for Helloween on here and some of these guys' material is heavier than new Helloween. Cheers

| Ok, in hindsight, I'll admit when I submitted this cd, it probably should've been listed as Prog. rock, because it is indeed in the same vein as Queensryche; but some of the songs are very melodic,so it's kinda a crap shoot.Gary Grant's vocals are very similar to Geoff Tate's,so a Quensryche fan may enjoy this release.Ken Orth's guitar solos are VERY reminiscient of George Lynch's work(hence the Dokken comparisons)so I think Dokken/Lynch fans may enjoy this as well.And finally,even though this..

is an American group, there is a very distinct German "flavor" which I think also draws the comparison to Dokken and to the Scorps as well. Again,if you haven't checked 'em out, go download their MP3s at their website,and see what you think. Hey Dean, what do you think of the song "If You Said Goodbye"? Is it just me, or is the guitar riff in that song VERY similar to "Back For More" by Ratt???  BTW, no offense taken M.Allen;your opinion is always a good read!

| Hey Whiplash-if you like both early Queensryche and Dokken-have you listened to D.C. Cooper? His solo album is more Dokken oriented but his Silent Force project is heavier and his stint in Royal Hunt was more Euro Prog. Either way that guy covers everything good in melodic metal. Sorry to get off the subject at hand. I didn't really see the Ratt similarity but I'll have to pull out Back for More again. Everytime i think of that tune-the intro riff gets stuck in my head.

| By the way- i agree with the European tag- but that's just because most of the good bands in prog/power are European and even the good American ones like Kamelot are way bigger in Europe than they could ever be in America.

| This is one of the best albums of 2003. I'm good friends with guitarist Ken Orth and actually helped them come up with their name WYCKED SYNN. Ken is an awesome guitarist and a great song writer. This album is very well rounded, with heavy tunes like The Savior and my personal favorite, In My Mind. As well it has the ballads If You Said Goodbye and the amazing Let it Rain and of course if has the rocking tunes like Till the End and Evil Ways. If you want hard hitting melodic rock, this is it.

| Finally the U.S. has a genuine contender for the European power metal bands, with an effort perhaps more powerful than many of those. For a debut this is so accomplished, in every facet, that you can't imagine where there is for Wycked Synn to go, except 'up' if there is any justice.

| Has anyone had trouble with the last three tracks (In My Mind, Unchosen Path, The Savior) being unable to play? I have tried several players that I know work perfectly so it must be the copy I received from ebay. I am bummed because I have heard "In My Mind" is a great track. From the tracks that I heard this band is very cool right down to the 80z spelling of their name. The reason this CD does not sound like a debut is because each guy has like 15-20 years experience.

| I hear George Lynch in the riffing-I don't really hear Queensryche, maybe the vocals are too different. A good set of rock songs with a classic feel and solid production. Definately a throwback to the early 90's (which is no bad thing). The vocals are probably the weakest.I can also hear Blackout era Scorpions as well.

| I like the songs.......I like the music.......I can not stand the vox...so yep...Your comparisons with Queenryche and Scorpions is probably right on, I don't like them either. "Let It Rain" has a really cool thunderstorm going on though...high point on the album for me...lol!!!
