Wow what a cd. This is a killer release from former vocalist of Impellitteri. This cd is just awesome and unbelieveable. Chris Impellitteri should take note. Every song is strong in vocals, guitars, Bass, Drums and melodic and all songs are memorable. The re-make of Rob's signature song I'm A Warrior is killer as well as The Revelation, Holy Hell, Calling Angels...hell the whole cd is great and no fillers.Melodic Metal at it's finest. This cd makes Masterplan sound like shit. Rob Rock Rulz!!! I

I agree, this leaves Masterplan and even the excellent new Judas Priest CD for dead IMO. This may not quite have the production budget of Priest but it's heavier and crunchier and more melodic, and in "Slayer of Souls" it contains the best metal tune I've ever heard. His other solo albums were good but this is stunning as it manages to be way heavier and more melodic at the same time. It has to lose marks for the last track which is pretty average, but otherwise this is essential. 9.5/10.

I have to agree with the above comments ! Although I'm a big AOR fan, this is top class metal ! What an album ! SUPERB !!! One of the best releases of the year so far ! Indeed, Rock blows Priest away with this killer release ! BUY IT !

Nah, no cowards in this neck of the woods, just havin' fun at your expense waffle man. Cheers! BTW Rob Rock truly lives up to his name, this album ROCKS! Pure unadulterated power/melodic metal. 9.5/10

Don't you find it a bit childish, Blue Charvel ?! Anyway, we seem to agree that this is a class release ! Cheers !

The dumbest thing Chris Impellitteri ever did was let Rob Rock exit the band, but it may have been the best thing Rock ever did, as his solo albums have been superb while Impellitteri is floundering. "Holy Hell," Rob's latest, is also his greatest, pure, unadulterated melodic metal delivered with crunch, precision, power, and the kind of heavy edge missing from so many albums today. This is good enough to make a preacher say, "Holy sh*t!" Come hell or high water, you need to buy this CD.

Wow. this guy is really starting to grow on me. I've always been a fan of his work with ARP and but the music/production got better when Gioeli joined and I never noticed how great Rock was. This album just made me notice. Calling Angels is AMAZING and the best here. Slayer of Souls, When Darkness Reigns and I'm A Warrior kick almost as much ass and I really dig the melodic closer Move On. The guitar is always rocking and Rock is always rolling. The only weak song to me is I'll Be Waiting. 9/10

From: Geoff Date: September 17, 2005 at 0:16
Man, what a crunching opener. Impressive. 'First winds' and 'Calling angels' are absolute crackers. This one definately has a bit more bite in the songwriting. The title track is good metal, 'Lion of Judah' is bad, 'Warrior' is still a great track, 'The revelation' is another killer. As for the rest, okay to good. Sorry Kip, not into 'Move on' at all. Overall, this is a good solid collection of melodic metal. Much better than his previous album.

I won't say anything new here that hasn't already been said. This is Rob's finest work ever, and one of the best melodic metal albums ever recorded. The opening riff on Slayer of Souls borders on thrash heaviness, but it still manages to sound melodic. There are no bad songs, or even mediocre songs, on this one. I love the last song, Move On. Its mellow but great! Standout tracks: Slayer of Souls, Holy Hell, When Darkness Reigns, Move On.

One of the best (if not the best) metal albums ever! If you can, get the Japanese version since it has 4 bonus tracks.
