Woaw!!!! I am very impressed by the OUTLAND samples I've heard. Now the question is : where can I buy this (very promising) cd - outside Japan of course ?

From: Rycheage Date: September 2, 2003 at 20:55
AOR straight out of the 80's. Mixes early Bon Jovi, Boston and classic Survivor. How can you go wrong? "Forever Yours" and "Last Forever" are lighters in the air ballads. "Valerie" os guitar driven rock and "One More Night" is extremely catchy.

From: aorjocke Date: September 25, 2003 at 3:50
Got this one last week, and what an album, Not a bad track here! This cd gonna be one of the best aor album of the year! The best tracks in my opinion are "Valerie" and "Lost in your love" pure AOR!!Don´t miss this gem!

From: AOR freaky Date: December 15, 2003 at 12:24
Nice to see this CD here ! One of the best CD's of this year. Class AOR and after Pride Of Lions, Ramos and Double Cross the finest AOR piece of the year ! Go and buy it !

From: outburst Date: February 26, 2004 at 1:54
Nothing really special... Just mediocre AOR stuff. The vocal tries to do so much and sounds a bit uncomfortable. The hollow production doesn't help, either. Overall, this is just an "average" disc, far from being "one of the best of 2003".

Average, Very average and a major dissapointment after some good reviews. Playing is ok, production ok, songs honestly can't remember any even after a few spins. There is a lot better stuff out there to spend the old pennies on than this and Not anywhere near being disc of the year as my learned friend above states.

From: AOR freaky Date: March 11, 2004 at 5:19
I know what you mean Jez ! But I also said that Pride Of Lions, Ramos, Double Cross and even Departure are better AOR records of 2003 ! Of course there are better records made in 2003 : Dream Theater, Cornerstone, Hughes/Turner etc. etc. But in the AOR genre ? Only the ones I've named ! Tell me what other pure AOR records were better in 2003, Jez ! I'm curious to know what you liked a lot more !

From: Rockhead Date: March 11, 2004 at 5:37
I preferred On The Rise to this and also Face Face (but im not sure if thats cheating cos it was an earlier made album released later)

Freddie - was actually agreeing with outburst when he commented on being not anywhere near the disc of the year. As for better releases in the pure Aor field i didn't buy a lot apart from the ones you mentioned 'Pride Of Lions, Departure, On The Rise - All way superior. As for other releases just name about 40 -Urban Tale, Jim Jidhead, Radioactive, Brian ,McDonald, Mark Spiro, Coastland Ride, Gotthard,Styx (I know your opinions on this). Of my top 50 cd's last year Outland came in at 49 - say no

From: Brenda Date: March 22, 2004 at 23:14

Ostia! Me van mas que Miguel Bosé!

From: Wotty Date: August 29, 2004 at 9:34
Competant, slick AOR.Totally inoffensive and filled with some high quality songs.Good playing and production,my highlight is the cover of the Stage Dolls LOVE CRIES,with VALERIE and DREAM AWAY not far behind.SOLID....

From: Geoff Date: August 29, 2004 at 21:52
I actually really, really like this disc. I think it's one of the finer AOR discs around and I must say, leagues ahead of the pretty average Double Cross release. 'Valerie' and 'Different worlds' are my faves, but there's not really anything I dislike about this CD. Love the Stage Dolls cover too. What can I say, I think it's a great melodic rock release!

From: Wotty Date: August 30, 2004 at 18:45
Geoff,Amazingly we agree...

Best song: STRONG ENOUGH 8/10

From: Swriter Date: February 12, 2005 at 12:03
well, I first got the new cd Long Way Home and absolutely blew me away, song by song, no skips for me, a stunner. I recently got Different Worlds and although it is a good one, is not quite up to the new masterpiece. Great release though, standouts are DWorlds, LCries, Lost, Valerie, LAlive, One More Night, and Strong, one of the top five best new bands in recent years!!!

From: z4roxx Date: February 12, 2005 at 16:14
Very very good cd of high quality aor.I am always surprised when I hear releases in these last years like this. This cd is full of remarkable songs with good tunes,I don't find fillers here and that's a really good thing...9/10.

From: z4roxx Date: February 23, 2005 at 20:30
Listened again this cd,it's good aor of decent quality but the singer is horrible! That's my personally point of view.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 27, 2005 at 0:11

From: K.K. Date: November 12, 2005 at 7:04
fantastic album, Strong Enough is a killer, 10/10

From: BIG-TIME Date: April 25, 2007 at 16:12
Nah! dont like it uninspired and dull, the singer sound's alot like Randy Newman (Toy Story-music)ARGHHHHH NOOOOOO. If there is better for the same year let me know...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: coverdale14 Date: October 30, 2007 at 13:41
I'M AGREE WITH AOR FREAKY, THIS DIFFERENT WORLDS IS THE BEST RECORD FOR THAT YEAR, FOLLOW UP FOR ANOTHER GREAT RECORD THE "LIVING IN THE LIGHT" BY JOSH RAMOS. VALERIE OPENS THIS CD WITH ONLY MAGIC, PURE AOR 80'S,I LOVE THAT RIFF. THE BALLADS HERE ARE PURE KILLERS ONE MORE NIGHT,LAST FOREVER AND MY FAVORITE DREAM AWAY,ONE MORE NIGHT AN OUTSTANDING AOR SONG,MARY ANNE NICE SONG,BUT STRONG ENOUGH AND VALERIE BEST AOR SONGS,DIFFERENT WORLDS STANDS AOR CATEGORY,LOVE CRIES I LOVE THAT SONG.

From: coverdale14 Date: October 30, 2007 at 13:44
BUT THIS OUTLAND VERSION IS IN THE SAME LEVEL, FRESH WITH THAT 80'S TOUCH LIKE THE ORIGINAL, WITH MORE SOLO'S BY JEFF AND ROB,TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN CLOSE THIS AOR GEM. LONG LIVE TO OUTLAND. 10/10.

From: BIG-TIME Date: February 19, 2008 at 17:13
Still hate this one arghhhhhh RANDY NEWMAN noooooooooo...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: coverdale14 Date: June 30, 2008 at 21:01
HEY BIG TIME, WHAT DO YOU LIKE RAP OR NU METAL, FUNNY ONLY YOU DULLY BAD COMMENT ON THIS CD, GET OUT OF THIS PLACE1

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 15, 2010 at 20:55
Agree with most comments above,Rafo is right once againg!..about the voice,is quite decent but it should have been stronger and with more feeling at certain moments(Jeff sounds like a raw version of Joe Elliot from Def Leppard fame)..anyway i frankly admit that i really liked this album, fresh sounds of AOR.."Valerie" starts the fire being an immediate fave especially by its choruses,"Love Alive" a good song with another catchy chorus,"One More Night" & "Strong Enough" are also faves, excellent tracks,"Last Forever" is a beautiful ballad,"Different Worlds" is such a top notch song,"Dream Away" is a nice heartstabbing ballad,"Love Cries"..ummmm,gotta disagree with some people...pretty average but somehow acceptable, not as good as the original by Stage Dolls..."Lost In Your Love" a highlight 2 end the album...buy and find out......93/100

From: 123charpenay Date: September 2, 2016 at 16:57
one more realise wich have some very good reviews but result?nothing exceptional the gem is not a gem only a great a o r record among one thousand great melodic rock cd s.

From: Macca Date: December 13, 2022 at 17:48
some sure deaf people reviewing this...esp about "hollow production"?? production is superb..that crisp clear production that used to be a staple in the 80s.....not the brickwall compression rubbish you often hear today. Nice chugging guitars...punctuated by key stabs...ok lead vox arent totally my thing..but good enough to carry the songs... they justg had a brand new album out in 2022..Deember release
