One of the very, very best of the NWOBHM period. Stunning stuff and their best IMO ! They should have been shoulder at shoulder with Maiden and Saxon ! |

For a debut album this is good, but does get very samey in the riff department by the end. I always thought they were a much better band when they got rid of Jess Cox and brought in John Devrill and released the excellent 'Spellbound' album. After seeing them live with both lineups, they were much better with JD as a frontman. As NWOBHM releases go 'Wild Cat' is ok, but put it up against say Saxon's 'Wheels Of Steel' or Samson's 'Head On', then you're in a different league altogether. |

Excellent debut album by a (underrated???)band i think.Songs such as "Euthanasia","Money" and Suzie smiled" among others are classic HM/HR anthems!!!.Now i see that the cd has 18 songs,is this a reedition?.I have seen this cd with the exact amount of songs that appears on the vynil and in this page it has all those songs.Anyway get it the shape it comes but get it!!!.10/10 |

UUUUHHH, I hate Jess Cox voice...awful!!! The only good song here is "Insanity". Sorry, guys...but the future-releases will be better and better with the perfect voice: JON DEVERILL!!! |

Rick - The Tygers Re-issues were released a few years back on the Edgy label and avaliable all over Europe. 'Wild Cat', 'Spellbound', 'The Cage' & 'Crazy Nights' have all recently been re-issued again (end of '06) on Metal Nation records, which are exactly the same as the Edgy versions - Packaging, Bonus tracks etc. Should be easy to track down. |

I can't believe nobody said anything about "Badger Badger". One of the best guitar riffs ever! NWOBHM RULES!! |

As far as i am concerned it reminds me not of Saxon and Iron but Motorhead's Ace of spades played much better technically . |

I've heard this one and I thought it was just OK. Not nearly as good as Iron Maiden or Saxon or Priest of 1980, but worth listening to if you can find it cheap. |

Here we have the Good, the Bad & the Ugly of the seminal NWOBHM laying sprawled out before us, drunk on the bathroom floor. Good: Robb Weir delivers some of the most manic riffs since riffing came to Rifftown. Bad: Jess Cox croaks out some of the worst vocals this side of Lemmy. Ugly: Brian "Big" Dick's sloppy, frantic drumming and Cox' croaky vocals represent the punk influence that infected much of the early Wave (see also: Iron Maiden, Motorhead). Like Maiden, the Tygers would start shedding the punky sheen after this album by adding a melodious singer (thank goodness for Jon Deverill), so this one-time incarnation stands on its own, take it or leave it. I'm not sold on the overall product, though its attitude is headed the right direction. Still, if you can resist the furious riff of the opener "Euthanasia," you're dead inside. 65 / 100 |

explosive debut for TYGERS OF PAN TANG offering fine NWOBHM music with great riffs and that sweet street feel that movement had !all the songs stand out and Wild Cat is a def classic of that era |
