I absolutely loved the debut cd 'The Album' from a couple of years ago, so was really looking forward to this. While not quite as good as the mighty debut this is still mighty fine Westcoast/AOR. The opening 4 tracks are killer - very Toto in places. Track 5 'Tempted' i'm still not sure about as i have heard Kimmo sing alot better ballads with Urban Tale. The rest of the album is slightly lighter, with definate Steely Dan references in some of the tracks. A definate top 10 come years end

From: Wotty Date: October 27, 2004 at 13:21
I agree with Jez concerning the debut, but this is a smooth piece of AOR/Westcoast.Not groundbreaking, but should delight fans of the genre.Personal fave, track 7,Silhouettes...

From: TIM (2) Date: November 1, 2004 at 3:36
I can only echo the comments of Jez and Wotty, as this really is ultra-lightweight stuff. I loved the debut too, and it is definitely more consistent than this, but if you love the first Radioactive and the recent Crossfade album then you should find this right up your street. Quality songwriting and note-perfect vocals make this a highlight of 2004 IMO. 7.5/10.

One of the weakest releases of the past few years. What we ve got here? A finish band which tries to play hot music but they are obviously colder than the northest finnish iceberg! A singer with a flat voice and no passion, a good guitarist who is lost in translation and a bunch of songs that are soooo boring! The biggest joke on this album is track 7 ''Silhouettes'' where they try to groove on boogie beats but apparently they are incapable of capturing such a feeling. Brrrrrrrr! its freezing!

From: giorgos-greece Date: January 27, 2005 at 10:15
Nice effort by fellow Kimmo Blom. Though not better than Urban Tale, the CD features enough good moments; not breathtaking but surely nice to listen to at any time. Early Toto infuences are quite obvious.Ultra lightweight stuff is not a drawback for records like this one; Westcoast approach of AOR is supposed to be smooth, focusing on melodies, laid back tempo and experimental mood ,rather than loud, impressive guitar solos.

From: giorgos-greece Date: January 27, 2005 at 10:18
Manos: In any case , Kimmo Blom's vocals indicate a much more sophisticated singer attitude than the one of your current hero, Hugo.

From: Swriter Date: February 5, 2005 at 17:11
probably my fav west coast influenced cd in the past few years. Very catchy songs with meat and wowowowow, what a great guitar tone. Not usually a huge fan of this genre, but this is a top tener for me from 04 !!!!

From: Swazi Date: August 3, 2005 at 16:07
Very well spoken, giorgos-greece ! This IMO is a superb example of smooth and laid back AOR. I really like Kimmo's voice, his singing and the songs, my favourite being "That Kind Of Girl". But then I also like Urban Tale. Highly recommended !

Too bad to be the second Heartplay release. Not a single remarkable or original arrangement, weak or absolute guitar’s absence, poor production and the singer,I think he has lost the voice here,a pity in the ballad and 10,000 miles far from the awesome debut. To say that it’s bad is a compliment IMO.3/10.

From: aTomiK Date: November 16, 2007 at 1:58
5 goodies in this (1-4 & 9). It´s not a bad cd, but after the brilliant first album i was expecting something huge. The other 5 songs are not for me. Not really terrible ones, but i just can´t get into those tunes. I would still love to hear 3rd effort from these guys! (Escape? Frontiers? Anyone?)

From: tomdwa Date: May 11, 2020 at 20:23
Definitely does not reach the level of the first album, especially in the songwriting department. That kind of girl and the remarkable Silhouettes are the exceptions and are goodies.
