Very smooth British AOR in the style of Say, BLVD or Strangeways. Lots of keyboards and shimmering production make this a good, if very calculated sounding, release.

From: Date: September 5, 2003 at 4:58
Just love Boulevard and Strangeways. Anyone has the album ? email me at erikhardam@hetnet.nl

From: Magnus Date: September 7, 2003 at 7:59
I agree..Very smooth AOR in the same vein as Boulevard and Strangeways..Great disc!

From: Date: October 29, 2003 at 7:43
Yeah, I have this one....Desperate Times is breathtaking

From: Rycheage Date: December 28, 2003 at 2:07
Great AOR. Much like BLVD and Strangeways. Awesome lush keys and good production for its time. Recommended.

Oh man, you buy this album now. This album kicks some fucking ass. Really, the song '' fall in love '' is amazing. ciao

From: AOR freaky Date: March 22, 2004 at 12:37
And this is a good one too, AOR Lover ! Fine band !

From: Rockhead Date: March 22, 2004 at 13:57
Sorry Freaky-Not with you on this one this CD SUCKS!! It is limper than a salad leaf passed it's best. Song wise I find nothing to write home about. About as interesting as a wet weekend in Cleethorpes.

From: Nightrunner Date: June 6, 2004 at 21:19
band are now recording under the name "Brave New World" new album "Monsters" is a lot heavier than "Million Miles Away", and really kicks ass

From: Geoff Date: September 23, 2004 at 18:42
This album really surprised me. I didn't expect much, but I think it's an excellent melodic rock / AOR CD. The first three songs are brilliant, as is 'Kid in a small town' but if I'm not mistaken I believe I enjoy pretty much every song on this CD. To me they sound like a much, much better version of Say. Excellent CD. Highly recommended, especially for that average price!

From: TIM (2) Date: September 27, 2004 at 5:14
Another good Brit AOR album that is well worth picking up for fans of lightweight pure AOR. Great sound, and some really strong songs on here. Say is a good comparison, but for me the overall sound is similar to that of Blue Blud, Atlantic etc, in that Brit band with a slightly American sound to it. "Wasted Emotion" is by far their classiest song, and is ultra-catchy. The rest is not that far off, and well worth the low price this is fetching. 7.5/10.

From: Axe Machine Date: November 11, 2004 at 6:29
Class 'A' songwriting in places with a solid production. Keyboards reminiscent of a British Boulevard, but without the defining character Boulevard has - absolute class - although this is a good attempt. Desperate Times is totally breathtaking. Worth Owning.

A Million Miles Away, Fall In Love, Kid In A Small Town, Stranger ... album completo.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 7, 2005 at 22:11

From: Wachen Date: October 8, 2005 at 4:35
If you only look to the song material this is easily at least 9/10 (Sexy Girls isn't exactly a top class tune). Every other song is amazing and I'm grateful that they had the guts to release this one in 1994 when grunge rules the world. There's only one thing that I find somewhat boring and that is the leadsinger sometimes. Not a bad voice but not that great either, but the songs makes this record a must-have anyway, BUY!

From: The Dolphin Date: October 10, 2005 at 15:56
AN INCREDIBLE MELODIC ROCK RELEASE WITH CATCHY KEYBOARDS AND GREAT BALLADS.9/10

From: z4roxx Date: November 13, 2005 at 10:37
That’s pure aor without any other contaminations(except track N.7),good aor,not great.Personally don t like so much singer,I find poor choruses here for the genre and some weak and generic song(too much generic keys sound similar in most tracks),but there are also some very good melodick moments.7,5/10

From: Chris_GR_Aor Date: June 30, 2006 at 9:03
Pure AOR perfection... Top 5 AOR of all time... It's useless to mention a song. From first to last they are great. I believe that "Passion Street" and "Atlantic" in 1994 gave us 2 of the best albums ever....100/100.

From: ROBERT Date: July 10, 2006 at 13:30
Vaya Tela!! Mezcla Strangeways, Dare, Boulevard... Osea Clase, Elegancia y Melodia a partes iguales.

From: ROBERT Date: July 10, 2006 at 13:31
A Million Miles Away - Impresionante!! Vaya Melodias, totalmente Strangeways!!, Clase a raudales, buen hacer y Comercialidad emergente. Bonito titulo, aunke nada original. Fall In Love - Q Teclas, q Melodias, Totalmente al mas puro estilo JOURNEY!! Love Lies Bleeding - En plan Acustico Total, aki me recuerda la voz al Ted Poley!! Sexy Girls - Kizas la mas floja,

From: ROBERT Date: July 10, 2006 at 13:32
Where Do We Go From Here - Tecladazos al poder!! Inconmensurable!! Kid In A Small Town - Q Maraviya!! Sonido 100% Comercial y Melodico, muxos kilates d Buen AOR!!

From: ROBERT Date: July 10, 2006 at 13:32
Super Recomendado! 8'5 d 10!!

From: Whitesnake Date: January 6, 2007 at 8:00
This is an aor gem, with only the voice beeing a week spot. Songs like "Million Miles Away", "Where Do We Go From Here" & "Kid In A Small Town" are all amazing tracks. Very keyboard-dominated and smooth, but this cd has a calming effect on me. Possibly the best album 1994. 9.5/10

From: Carlos A. Date: January 24, 2007 at 13:33

From: lalorock Date: January 30, 2007 at 17:52
Discazo de puro AOR heaven teclados ultra melódicos, guitarras no muy duras pero precisas,Desperate times que temazo! una de mis favoritas del mundo AOR,Wasted emotion,A million miles away, Samantha temas que te dejan helado por sus envolventes melodías, posee dos excelentes power ballads Fall in love y Where do we go from here donde los teclados bordan de manera maravillosa las canciones, album que no puedes dejar pasar por nada del mundo si te gustan las super melodías guitara-teclados 9/10.

From: kipvanpearcy Date: September 7, 2007 at 19:04
If you like light AOR, then this is a classic. If not, you'll be disappointed. To me, there's only one filler on this CD "Sexy girls". The rest is absolutely flawless, lots of class, could have used a better production but hey, I can't complain since almost all the songs are gems.

From: ferstyx Date: September 7, 2007 at 21:10

From: aorta Date: February 13, 2008 at 20:00
A SLICE OF EXAMPLE HOW AOR HAS TO SOUND.SIMPLE AS IT IS.

From: KurtmanJP Date: March 29, 2008 at 2:53
Sounds like a mix of Valentine and Sydney (Swiss). The first 5 tracks are ABSOLUTELY KILLER! I especially love "A Million Miles Away" and "Samantha". I'm not so big on the second half of the album except "Strangers" is a good song.

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: May 3, 2008 at 13:59
A real good one!. The main good thing about this album is the fact that it was released in a very difficult year for the Melodic Rock and AOR scene, because we are talking about 1994. Despite this detail, we can enjoy a very good album, with varied influences from Hard AOR, pure AOR and a little bit harder style, like a mix of Strageways, BLVD, Walk The Wire and Blue Bud, with great songs like "Samantha" and "A Million Miles Away".

From: Niglin Date: March 24, 2009 at 3:31
Wow, you'll surely draw some inspiration from this one!. Very euphonic feel good AOR, wouldn't guess they came from Sweden; no discernible accent (that which kills many good Scandi Bands). Essential = yes!

From: coverdale14 Date: June 9, 2010 at 14:10
AGREE THE FIRST 5 SONGS ARE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ALL AOR LOVER FAN, AOR FIRST CLASS, AN EXCEPTION WITH THE SONG "SEXY GIRLS", ALL THE SECOND HALF OF THE ALBUM, AOR CLASSIC BUT NO KILLER LIKE THE FIRST 5 SONGS. 9.0/10.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 19, 2010 at 0:46
Very good album, recommendable 4 sure!..."Wasted Emotion" is such an excellent song,a highlight,"A Million Miles Away" is a fave, really good,"Samantha" is a nice ballad, when it comes 4 a women's name..."Desperate Times" & "Love Lies Bleeding" are faves too,"Sexy Girls" is a pretty cool track and "Where Do We Go From Here" is nice and catchy...Poderoso Yiro and Rafo Phoenix were right in their comments also Robert..buy!...92/100

From: juan carlos Date: June 19, 2010 at 0:58
Oh Yeah! You are right Carlos A., Lalorock, ferstyx and coverdale14 Great AOR album, there`s no more to add. 8.8/10

From: nimzo Date: October 10, 2015 at 14:56
Great AOR! One 90's album with 80's style sound. Very melodic with catchy keyboards. The best songs are: Samantha, desperate times, a million miles away, kid in a small town and stranger. Essential in your AOR collection.

From: edwithmj Date: October 3, 2017 at 19:30
This is much more to my taste. The vocals are ever so slightly strained at times but the songwriting is way up there. Favourites are Million Miles Away (smooth keyboards throughout), Samantha, Desperate Times and Sexy Girls (80s hard rock sound). The entire album is a real pleasure to listen to and I find myself coming back to it again and again.

From: edwithmj Date: May 31, 2018 at 6:20
For anyone who's interested, the quote in the introduction to Desperate Times ("that this thing is sucking the life right out of you") is from The Dead Zone with Christopher Walken.
