Helix clones can rock, but an annoying lack of sophistication prevails. Funny videos, though.

I absolutely Love this cd, my favorite Killer Dwarfs cd. Sebastion Bach in his early days rated Russ Dwarf as one of his favourite singers and influences. Russ and Sebastion sometimes sound similar in their vocal deliveries. This has amazing melodic catchy hooks, check out Tell me please, We stand alone, Union of Pride, Lifetime, and I'm alive all being standout tracks. Jay from Australia.

You gotta love a band that can laugh at themselves. I agree with the Aussie above--my favorite K.D. CD also. And spent a hell of a long time trying to track it down (this was before it was re-released). Lifetime is my all time fav track from these guys.

I agree with all above, this is a really listenable hard rock album-catchy melody lines and competent musicianship. Russ has a better than most voice and reasonable vocal range. I love some of the guitar licks-lead breaks are awesome in parts! Overall, this album rates quite highly with me. Still part of my CD collection after 15 years. 8/10....Go you dwarfs!!

This is awesome, hook laden hard rock. These mighty Canucks finally get the budget to make a proper record and come through with flying colors. 9/10.

I personally like their other CD's more than this one, but I do seem to be in the minority with that opinion. I still think that this is a very solid album by an excellent band.

From: COBRA Date: December 16, 2007 at 13:59
10 out of 10 songs. In the good to very good range. All the songs flow well and do not vary to much from each other.** We stand alone** would be the stand out track for me.... IMO, they would be more in the Poison realm vs. a Journey or a Van Halen.

Hard Rock meant to be satisfying is what the Dwarfs displayed here ..."Tell Me Please","Startin' To Shine","Lifetime","Burn It Down"(rocks good!) & "Desperados"(catchy) are in my book...a "killer" album....87/100

top class release by the KILLER DWARFS back in 88 and for me thisi s the best ever Canadian act !strong personality ,fine polished guitar driven sound and a nice commercial edge all over is what you get!ALL the songs are great and this album is full of hooks and catchy tunes!i had bought the vinyl back then and i was quite impressed by its quality!

Killer album by Killer Dwarfs!! I feel so embarrassed to have really found this band only a few weeks ago. I bought their debut album as a teenager and didn’t care about it too much so I never paid much attention to them since. Now, 30 years later I suddenly realize that their next four albums are all amazing! I would have loved these albums had I discovered them at the time, but on the other hand it feels awesome to be able - at this age! - to find something this good in a genre in which I thought there was not much anything left to find. Out of the four albums (from Stand Tall to Method To The Madness) I love this one the most. There are absolutely no fillers here, every song have the quality that should have made the band HUGE at the time. Starting To Shine is my favorite track here, but they’re all great. 10/10!!
