No comments?! How criminal! Whilst I still think the debut is the best CD they released, this is their 2nd best, I believe. For the first time in their career it was actually the ballads that shone brightest. They still rock as hard and good as anyone, but check out 'Time' for one of the best ballads you'll ever hear. (How many times do I say it?! But believe me when I say it... please ) 'Maniac' is a suprise awesome cover, but 'Time' is worth it all alone... Great CD!

I've just heard this groups cover of ABBA's....yes...your not seeing things....that ABBA....the cover of "Eagle" from the "A Tribute To ABBA" on the Nuclear Blast Label and it is amazing. Also on the "AT VANCE" album "Heart of Steel" they do a cover of ABBA"s "S.O.S" and that to is a sensational cover !!!!!HOLY SHIT BATMAN , WHATS THIS WORLD COMING TO WHEN WE HAVE HARD ROCK COVERS OF "ABBA" AND THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!!I think i need to go and have a lay down now, i think i'm not well !!!!!!!!!!!

If you like those Dave, go check out the album by Black Sweden called Gold. It's all Abba covers with very recognizable rock riffs. http://www.townsend-records.co.uk/blacksweden.htm

It was in the database here at one time. I'll have to re-add it: http://www.melodicrock.com/reviews/blacksweden-gold.html

Thanks for that T-Bone ,i will look into it !Now this band have really caught my attention with this ABBA cover because prior to hearing this ,which is off the previous album, i had never heard of them.I see they also do a cover of one of my favourite bands of all time "Bad Company". What's that like?? Can someone give me some comparisons to who they sound like ?? Are they Metal or Hard Rock ?? because the vocals and music sound mighty fine on the ABBA cover !!

Sargant Fury and Black Sweden sound nothing alike as far as music go. The only comparison was the Abba cover tune. If you liked the cover of Eagle that Sargant Fury did, you'll like all 3 of their cd's because they don't stray too far off their path from that sound. It's just a little hard to find their cd's sometimes. It took me about 3-4 months just to get all 3 off eBay.

I rarely go to the other eBay because quite frankly, I can't speak other languages! I do try from time to time and some of the auctions will be written in german as well as english. I've scored some of my best cd's from German eBay. Thanx Dane

Dave, ABBA are a phenomenal band. Musically astounding and complex, production wise amazing and melodies unfeasably infectious. Not seen/heard anyone better. F**k the Beatles with their 3 chords and their bland tunes. But you are right, Sargant Fury blew me away with their cover of "Eagle" and I too am on the hunt for more of their stuff. I love their sound, their production, the guitars and the vocals - they are killer!

Ice-9 , you have to hear AT VANCE do S.O.S, it tops them all but don't buy the album because it is pretty average.

This is fucking great! Killer ballads, balls out rock 'n' roll, and as is the norm for the German rockers, everyone knows how to play their instruments. Nice crisp production too.

very good release once again for SARGANT FURY , a band that offers a solid hard rock sound with fine musicianship and ok songs ,but this time the ballads are really outstanding !"no other way","time" and "without you" are great songs along with rockers like "turn the page" and "lucky day" you ll be satisfied!highly recommended from an underrated act like SARGANT FURY

Vocalist Andrew Mcdermott was actually from Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. He is NOT German, which is why he doesn't have a German accent. He was/is mostly known for his work in the progressive metal band Threshold.
