If you notice that a particular Queensryche CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Queensryche are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Can LaTorre save the Queen? To the band's faithful minions the original Queensr˙che sound is finally back. The last time I saw them live was on the "Empire" tour at their peak of powers. "2013" isn't Empire caliber, but it's a step forward for a band that has been in a 15 year music wasteland. Hot on the heels of Tate's legal maneuvering "F.U." which most agree sucked. They could have called this one 'Q-2'. From the few samples I heard of this album a few months ago I wasn't won over, but LaTorre, although a Tate-clone at times breaths some much needed new life into a band Tate once ruled with a iron fist. "In This light" is the standout track with sparks of former glory. The whole band gets song writing credits with all fresh material. If Tate supposedly wrote 80% of the band's previous material, you think the rest of the band would have had stashed a few gems to unload. The band sounds re-energized, even though the production quality is a lackluster on the road to Ryche-"Redemption".

I'm not the world's biggest Queensryche fan, but it's been impossible to look away from the fiery trainwreck that's taken place over the last year or so. So I gave each of the new albums a listen. F.U. has Tate's unmistakable voice, but not a whole lot else going for it. The tunes just seem bland, and like they could've been written by anybody. On the otherb hand, the songs on QR13 (and it is their thirteenth release, counting either the EP, or F.U. if you must), the songs may not be of the same quality as the first few albums from the '80's, but the SOUND of Queensryche is back. The guitar tones, Eddie Jackson's big fat bass, the soaring melodies and harmonies are all there. To me, that's the deciding factor. Tate's voice slapped over some generic songs isn't going to do it.
