This album sucks! What happened to these guys? I couldn't listen to a full track on this album.

This one starts off pretty decent with "Sign of the Times" but goes downhill quickly after that. Hard to believe it's the same lineup that did "Operation Mindcrime". The band tried to sound current with this one, but failed miserably. I'd say that this is in the same league as Dokken's "Shadowlife". In other words: AVOID!

This one has a couple of semi-decent tracks like the aforementioned "Sign of the Times," "Hit The Black," and "Anytime/Anywhere," but overall it's not QR's finest hour. Perhaps a bit better than the godawful stuff they've done since then, but still not essential. I got my copy used for five bucks, I would'nt recommend paying more than that for this though.

Ok, I must be crazy or something, I liked this album from the first time I heard it. Much better than Promised Land, which tended to bore the heck out of me. "Saved" and "Hit The Black" are classic 'Ryche rockers, and it was cool to hear Chris Degarmo sing lead on "All I Want".

I liked 'Sign of the Times' when I heard it, but didn't buy the cd because I couldn't find a good review other than that song. I'd prefer to keep myself blissfully ignorant if it doesn't measure up to previous efforts. And judging from some of their late 90's stuff...ugh.

I actually love this album! It's my second favorite Queensryche offering after Empire... and right now, it's the only Queensryche album I own! I need to do something about that. Great band!

The band once again follow the same cycle coming off a concept album trying to compose an album of "just songs." What few strengths that are present here can be seen in the melodic choruses of tracks like Cuckoo's Nest, Spool, and Reach. Perhaps the band made an error recording the album in Nashville and using Peter Collins again when his tastes may have changed towards pop?

Another dissapointing album by Queensryche. Starts off very good with the opening "Sign Of The Times", but everything falls apart after that. 5/10

This is number two of "I think I'll screw my loyal fans who got me rich, by going in a direction which goes nowhere". Come on, guys! Pull yourselves together! I want my ears to bleed, but in a good way. Here, unfortunately, is my rating of this slop: 1/10.

'Get a life', 'Some people fly' and I think it is either 'You' or 'Miles away' that I really quite liked. Yeah, there were three cool hard rock tunes on this disc, but was not a fan of the rest of it at all. Another miss for me, even if there were a couple of cool tunes.

The CD is the beginning of the decline for this band. However as a whole album it may not hold together, there are some quality tunes. Sign Of The Times, The Voice Inside, You, Some People Fly, are highly recommended!!!

Not as bad as everyone says. a very complex, layered and moody album. The cover, an ear in a jar, is exactly what the album was supposed to be, very sterile. The first single even came with a qtip cotton swab to clean out your ears and listen with an open mind. i read the comments and funny thing is everyone says "this album sucks except for (insert 3 or 4 song titles here)" but if you look over the comments just about every tune gets named which shows how different opinions are. Standout tracks are sign of the times, get a life, you, voice inside, saved, hit the black and spOOl

Wow, have these guys hit rock bottom. I listened to it once and was angrier than when I hear Promised land...because I fell into the trap once again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I actually felt bad about myself after listening to this

Only a couple of decent tracks on this one. I don't care much for this album. Even though the music scene was changing with the grunge explosion in the 90's, I personally think Queensryche lost their way after Empire. I know a lot of fans wish for the return of Chris DeGarmo but he had a lot to do with this album.

Dreadful. Simply dreadful. I'd rather puncture my eardrums with rusty knitting needles than subject myself to this droning shitfest again. Reputedly influenced by the grunge scene, it shows - it's just fuckin' awful from start to finish. The word grunge to me suggests shit caked on the inner rim of a toilet bowl - a perfect place to deposit this sorry excuse for an album. Crap, crap, and more crap.

very good release for QUEENSRYCHE trying to be updated and less prog ,but even like that their talent is obvious!the production isnt clear and the guitar parts are probably their worst but you can find many hooks and interested lines!"hit the black","sign of the times","all i want" and "spool " are the standout songs !good stuff here

Sign of the Times and Hero are great songs. There's some awesome drumming on this album.
