THIS IS METAL!!!! Can't get enough of those Jon Oliva Yells!!! there's a german version of this album which includes Sleep acoustic by Jon Oliva |
From: Nick C | Date: September 21, 2005 at 12:29 |
Although their first two releases were pretty good (Sirens especially) this was a quantum leap in terms of songwriting quality and still gets played plenty to this day. Jon Oliva's vocals are great and quite different to your usual metal screamers and Criss (RIP) kicks in some killer riffs. It's not all straight ahead hard rock / metal either, Washed Out and Unusual are a little more off the wall and the song Warriors is fantastic. The following release lost the band some momentum though. |

In my opion the best of the Savatage cds.Awesome vocals.Melodic metal at it's finest.Power of the Night and Fountain of Youth are my faves from this one.In my dreams is a killer power ballad. |

figgy, true. I love this album. The sound, feeling. just about everything. Recently I saw Metal Church live, and they had brought Chris Caffery as a support act. Apart from beeing an extremely nice person, he performed some Savatage tracks. Power of THe Night was one of them. IT WAS SUPERB. |

Power Of Savatage is what this album really needed to be called!!!...wonderful songs with "power"..."Power Of The Night","Unusual","Warriors"(an anthem!!!),"Washed Out"(kick a**),"Hard For Love"(catchy),"Stuck On You"(great!) are top notch songs indeed plus the 2 bonus live tracks that brings the re-edition of 2002(the one i have)"Power Of The Night" & "Sirens"...recommended album...94/100 |

superb release for SAVATAGE ,with Max Norman giving them a more commercial approach and as aresult songs like the mega hit"hard for love"(one of the best ever metal songs much underated),"stuck on you","in the dream","power of the night"!essential for those who dig metal with commercial elements |
